I walked into a Dept of Licensing and was asked if I was carrying a weapon and I told them yes but that I had a concealed permit. A local guy here in town was arrested for having a gun in his house. His house is located across from a school ( less than 500 ft.). His house was built many years before the school was even a thought. So now, a large legal has begun over this. How did someone know about the gun?.... A karen from across the street saw it in his waist ban when he was in the garage.
That’s private property not sure how that violates the law especially if the house was there first. Armed attorneys did a video on this while back saying it’s legal even within 500 feet of a school if it’s private property.
The Gun Free School Zone act does not apply to private property. If he was actually prosecuted for this, it's a case of an over-active prosecutor and the trial shouldn't survive past a motion for dismissal, citing the law.

As a current TSO at the 3rd busiest airport. I gotta say. You are definitely sharing correct information as it pertains to airport security. Declare it with the airline. Secure it unloaded with a TSA approved locked case. Bottom line, DON’T BRING YOUR GUN THROUGH AN AIRPORT SECURITY CHECKPOINT PERIOD!
I carry everywhere that a criminal would, and indeed they do, carry. Regardless. I protect me. Not the government. I used to take my gun into the school office and leave it for the day during hunting season and hunt on my way home on school property. I wasn't the only one. It was the early 90s. With cops dropping and jungle rolling while mag dumping into their own vehicle, i see a cop carrying a gun, i carry where they carry.
You definitely need to check your state laws for each of these. In Utah, if you have a conceal carry, you can conceal carry in schools. As opposed to carrying with Constitutional Carry
Man, I'm so glad to hear from a UA-camr that's based in SC. With us still adjusting to the new constitutional carry law that went into effect, there's been some cloudiness with what's covered and what isn't. Spartanburg just had to release a statement telling businesses that if they don't want any concealed or open carry weapons, then the signs need to be that specific. When in doubt, they need to put up a "no weapons" sign up , otherwise no sign, then there's nothing to enforce. The asking if you can carry inside a private residence was something I didn't know about until it was clarified in the same article from Spartanburg SC.
@@Methodical2 well yeah, that one's obvious. I should probably say that the governing body of Spartanburg had a meeting and the article covered said meeting. However this video is also a part of my research. Videos, articles, and releases from Governor McMaster are all included in the research. Anyway, have a good one 🤙
I don’t think the school shooters at Uvalde, Parkland, Sandy Hook or Columbine cared about schools being gun free zone. A lot of these gun control laws are stupid. I really hope we get a president that get rid of these laws.
I still conceal everywhere. Post office, my daughters school. Everywhere i can. Id rather look at myself in prison everyday for protecting my family and innocent lives then live knowing i could have done something and i did nothing because someone with 24/7 armed security decided "well i just don't feel citizens carrying guns is appropriate"
I don’t blame you. I’m a LEO and when I go to my kids school events I can occasionally see someone’s carry printing a tad. To this day I’ve never done anything about it, I just make a mental note of who they are and where they’re sitting. I’m blessed to have leosa covering me pretty much everywhere I go, so I couldn’t imagine having to go somewhere that I don’t have the ability to protect my family.
I carry at my kids school, as allowed by law. I don’t carry into their events. I carry on the property but never the premises. Like I said, only where the law allows, otherwise I’m wearing 3-4 knives.
Didn't know you were in SC! While living in the Greenville area, I received my pistol instructor training on a private range in Piedmont. SC will always be "home" no matter where I happen to live at the time.
This video does a solid job of highlighting areas where carrying might seem permissible but can land you in serious trouble legally. While constitutional and concealed carry are gaining traction, it's essential to respect the boundaries set forth by laws and regulations. Ignorance of these laws is never an excuse, and staying informed can prevent unintended legal consequences.
I encourage everyone to carry concealed everywhere you go except for those places that use pat downs and/ or metal detectors. You never know when you are going to need that handgun to protect yourself or the people around you.
Interesting fact about Hartsfield Jackson Airport, you can open or conceal carry in the unsecured portion of the airport. Also all no gun signage on private property in Georgia is unenforceable. They can ask you to leave and if you refuse it will turn into a trespassing charge.
@@thebusterdog921 Maybe, but weapons are not prohibited in unsecured areas of airports, at least in Ga, TN, Wy, and Tx, where I have personal recent experience.
I always take note of places with signage denying weapons so I know exactly where I can go outside of the specific places indicated by law. Especially when I’m in places around lots of people or certain public events. I’m definitely going to carry. If I don’t see a metal detector who’s going to know anyway? That’s why it’s “concealed”
Wouldn't any of the 7 places be unconstitutional. If your concealing how do they know your carrying. There is nothing in past laws about carrying on federal property. NY is currently being sued for sensitive places which include some of these places, because these rules infringe on the second.
The government is still more concerned about their own Safety with all of the metal detectors in their buildings. But, not for our children?! You know the children they are sooo concerned about!
The 1000 foot buffer zone around a school is only prohibited if you don't have a permit. This is one reason to get a permit in a Constitutional Carry State, because a permit is required there too if you are on public property within 1000 feet of the school property line.
My uncle has a business in DC , he is in the process of moving his business out of DC because it’s so hard to obtain. He says I’m responsible for my life and my employees, I can’t protect them and it’s getting worse. So we are moving to a place where I can, and thankfully all my employees and their family are moving out too.
I also support and frequent the businesses with 2A friendly policies and “concealed carry encouraged” signage. Not only am I showing support to a like minded business, but I think it is a deterrent to criminals who tend to look for “soft targets”. A criminal is much less likely to try to rob a place where the patrons are likely better armed and trained than them!
Don’t forget the post office! As a government building firearms are banned there . Since it is a more “ordinary” location than a courthouse or military base, it’s easy to forget. I also live in SC, and it’s important to remember that places with “no concealable weapons” signs also are banned by law in SC ( if signs are posted correctly, etc.). I know that this can be a grey area, but I try to avoid these places when I can (like the mall), and not carry in these places when I have to go in them. I know that there is a very slim chance of getting “caught” if you are carrying correctly, but I support the rule of law, even when I may not agree with the law 😐.
You also can NEVER carry at any nuclear power plant, or power plant parking lot, nor at most places that have Federal offices, including Post Offices( Post offices do currently have a case pending to change that, but don't do it until that case clears the US Supreme Court).
Honestly don’t ever go into a places where you can’t defend yourself. My life is more important to me and I don’t go into places where I can’t protect are defend myself. Because criminals don’t obey the laws and I let ignorant people go to places where they can’t protect are defend themselves.
Biggest hypocritical point I have with the bar laws is how you can legally drive with a bac of up to 0.08 but with a firearm it’s 0.00. The hypocrisy is stifling and people need to realize that getting drunk while carrying and having a couple beers while carrying are very different. When you can easily create just as much chaos and death with a vehicle as you can with a firearm. Need an example? Look at what happened in France a while back. Yet this is so widely accepted as a justified law. Also love the video we need more firearm UA-camrs based out of South Carolina!! 👍🏽
10:45 Rifle scopes and empty holsters CAN be brought in carry on bags, but those are the only gun related accessories allowed. When I travel I always bring my holsters in my carry on so I can reholster at my destination airport (outside of the sterile areas) after getting my gun back from BSO.
Kansas is super cool with concealed carry. We passed constitutional carry ages ago and the no gun signs don't carry any legal duty with them. Even in some of the bluer parts of the state it's not uncommon to see people open carrying. Nobody really makes a big thing about it. The only places I wont carry are either places where it's illegal such as courthouses and the post office, and doctors offices for the reason you mentioned. Mostly its about common sense. People get too hot about carrying everywhere to prove a point or make a statement. But just like with free speech, sometimes its better left unsaid. That's a choice.
In North Carolina, we can legally carry with a holster in view or CC. I prefer the visible holster. Having been the manager of over 100 armed guards my sentiment is those hiding guns are closer to starting trouble than those showing them. Of course, that is my rough judgement and certainly not 100% accurate or even 95%. But with nothing to hide, mentality to move and act naturally is less restrained. I will eventualy take CC classes this year but I have never had that fear level, or ventured into obvious danger zones to want to conceal. But having that right should be an option.
I carried a small backpack in Iraq as a go-bag in my aircraft with extra M4 and M9 mags. I was using the same bag for a carry on with just clothes and toiletries through TSA on a trip shortly after returning home. TSA checked it and the sniffer detected gun powder residue. It took a lot of explaining with my military ID that I had just returned from Iraq and that I had used the bag for ammo while I was over there. I didn't think anything about it until that happened because I was certain nothing but clothes and toiletries were in the bag. I feel stupid in hindsight.
Not your fault. If they’re that dumb that they can’t cross reference your identity with your military service (which they 100% already know), they shouldn’t be hassling you while real idiots board no problem. Then again, TSA isn’t exactly the sharpest tools in the shed.
I've thought about getting yet another backpack to NOT use as a range bag for just this reason. I always carefully check to make sure I don't have any errant shell casings that fell down in the seams but I know there's powder residue everywhere. Until then the best I can do is shrug "It's also my range bag. Can I go?"
This is cowardly and immoral. Unless the place actually has metal detectors then the gun free zone signs should be ignored. The places that do metal detect you i don't go in. People complying with stupid laws like this is why we're in the situation we are in.
In Mississippi we have constitutional carry but we also have firearms permits and enhanced firearms permits. If you are carrying without a permit or with the standard permit, you are prohibited from carrying in schools, courthouses, churches, polling places, private property thats posted, and several other places. however with the enhanced permit the only places you cannot carry are police stations, jails, and federal property. We're allowed to carry in schools, gov't offices that are open to the public, churches, polling places, even the courthouse. The only stipulation is that it is illegal to carry in a courtroom where court is in session. "No guns allowed" signs do not apply either but we can still be asked to leave and are required to do so if asked. Those extra privelages only apply to concealed carry.
Li you said you can’t fix the ignorance and stupidity of the law. That’s why I pulled my child out of school because no body is going to stop me from protecting my child. Politics are a joke just like the laws are a joke.
Blech, one of exes used to shop there. I don’t shop at ButtWhole Foods. Tastes terrible, overpriced, and their hippy-dippy politics/culture are putrid.
You didn't mention a possible one I just learned about. According to what I heard, you can not have a gun on any post office property, including the parking lot. I drive through my post office parking lot fairly often to drop mail in one of the outside boxes. After hearing from a knowledgeable source that carrying while doing so is against the law, I drove by looking for signs. The only No Firearms signs were on the doors, but I understand that it is still a federal offense to have a gun anywhere on post office property.
Of it is s stand alone building and parking lot. Yes you are correct. If the post office is in a rented property like a strip mall you can leave it in your vehicle. Just park closest to the post office and that won't look like your just going to the post office.
@@tonyl3762 "Jan 13 (Reuters) - A federal judge in Florida on Friday ruled that a U.S. law that bars people from possessing firearms in post offices is unconstitutional, citing a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling from 2022 that expanded gun rights. I Open Carry everywhere and the places I can't, well that's when I conceal carry. I Open Carry at my polling location when I vote. (Idaho). Perfectly legal to open carry inside the airport in the non-sterile areas. (Idaho). Perfectly legal to get drunk while open carrying in a bar/saloon (Idaho). No gun signs in Idaho have no force of law. Idaho, the number one pro Second Amendment state in the Divided States of America.
In at least some states, for some of the areas mentioned, the "no firearms" policy is actually a "no weapons" policy and the definition of a "weapon" can be fairly broad. For example, for prison visitors and staff in NY, even an ordinary pocket knife with a 2" blade is considered a weapon. As for the Federal school zone restrictions, there is an exception for anyone who has a valid permit from the state in which the school is located carrying off school grounds but within the 1000' zone.
Right ir wrong ,if there arent metal detectors i ignore gun free zones. If i dont need to use it, nobody will ever know its there. If i need it,i wont be worried about getting in trouble for having it.
I had locked up my sidearm, but due to my holster removal was a pain wore my holster going to a clinic with a friend, security came up and I knew and simply said it was empty and showed my holster on my hip.
My Dr office in Ohio allows conceal carry. My Dr is a pro second amendment advocate and he has a sign posted in the window stating that his office has conceal carry inside
In Texas the law is over 51% alcohol sales, TABC determines this number based on the establishments sales. So some of the sketchy places trying to avoid the 51% red sign will avoid ringing up some drinks so it looks like they sell more food, that doesn't last long. Depends on the part of the state but seen it before. Flipside to this is when intoxicated you cant have a firearm on you so if you're caught carrying in a bar or even a Walmart while intoxicated you will be arrested.
The only places I do not have my firearm are places that I cannot avoid a metal detector. Everywhere else, regardless of signage or laws, I have my firearm and fixed blade knife on me. I simply do not let a governing body tell me what I can or cannot do to protect myself and/or loved ones.
6:54 Also for carrying in churches some states like here in Virginia it’s a grey area the law only says your have to have good and sufficient reason for carrying on church grounds
People need to realize that the second amendment doesn't give us the right to carry for self defense, The All mighty gives us that right and the second amendment merely reaffirms it. Also the constitution is the supreme law of the land, therefore any laws, local and or national, including the ones in this video, that contradict the second amendment are null and void as if never passed
I agree with you. There is an interesting piece of history. There were no commercial hijackings until a few months AFTER it became illegal for civilians to carry on an airplane. Just interesting.
Good point about doctor's offices, especially for older carriers like me who tend to get poked, prodded and x-rayed more than we used to. We often have to change into those wonderful backless gowns and leave our street clothes in a cubicle. I don't carry then, nor to courthouses. I don't like it but I don't know what alternative there is.
Here in Kentucky, there isn’t even a law that says you can’t carry while you’re drunk. While you probably shouldn’t, that shocked me that it wasn’t illegal.
We all know that criminals don’t follow laws and We become vulnerable. The same way as a citizen under the constitution I have the right to bear arms and I will not comply.
I agree with you on the Atlanta airport. I make it a point of not booking flights that go through Atlanta. In Florida you can’t carry in bar areas. I can carry in a restaurant that has a bar and drink at a table in the dining area legally. I can’t carry legally and sit at the bar if I’m eating and drinking water. I think that’s insane, but it’s the law here.
Never understood the logic behind gun free zones. Why don’t they skip ahead and make crime free zones since it works so well. Why not make earth a violence free zone? We’d have world peace immediately with that logic 😂.
I just had firearms training in MD for conceal carry and the instructor informed us that while the laws are on the books for 1) no carrying within 1k ft of protest, 2) needing businesses approval to carry, such as walmart and 3) no carry in establishments that sell/serve alcohol, there's an injunction and because of the injunction, the police can't enforce those laws. I guess they are awaiting a final ruling because it has been challenged as unconstitutional in MD.
Permit holders can break 1000' school zone restriction as long as you don't go on school property. This exemption applies only within your State of residence,. I don't know if you are exempt if you live in a permitless carry State. Virginia has odds rules for drinking while carrying. It is illegal to consume alcohol if you are carrying concealed but if you openly carry you can. Signage restrictions vary. In Wisconsin it is against the law. In Virginia, it is trespassing but only if you refuse to leave when asked. Check your local laws.
That’s the frustrating thing about being a law biden citizen we have to worry about all this shit not to get in trouble but the crooks do what they want cause they don’t care
In Texas, if the business is 51% alcohol, then CCW is prohibited. The establishment MUST display a sign stating its a 51% business. Also if the business displays a 30.06 sign you cannot conceal carry. If 30.07, you cannot open carry.
There’s a big difference as well between K-12 schools and colleges/universities. Also a big difference between private and public schools as well. In Texas for example… you can only carry at a college/university if you have a TEXAS LTC or from a reciprocity state. You can NOT carry under permit less constitutional carry.
Look for a 51% sign usually on the outside or inside the building.if it’s a bar and restaurant look to see if the patio has a sign also.If they have no sign or bar than you can carry outside on the patio. But if they have a bar also on the patio area and the signs don’t carry on the property. Also check with your local laws or the building management.
@shsb2355 how do you figure. I carry every day never had on incident. If someone was trying to hurt anyone I would use my gun as a last resort but I have it if needed. Most people are like me. So don't let a bad apple spoil the bunch
@@unseenadventures8130 because history has shown schools are not a place to allow carry. Only the stationed police should be able to. Schools are incorporating metal detectors, these will catch any shooter before even entering.
The problem we have at the airports is people having guns in their bag and the constant excuse is “I forgot it was in there”. That’s not an excuse, you should always know where your firearm is. The fine is up to $15k for bringing a gun.
I think the concept of the video is good. I get where he's going with this, trying to look out for his viewers. However, every state as we all know have different laws on firearms. Some of what was stated may or may not apply where you live. At the end of the day check your own state and local laws.
GFZA has an instate permit exemption to the 1000 ft rule. Very important to mention. The killer there though is that reciprocal licenses don’t seem to be covered as the language as written but I don’t think reciprocal licenses were really a thing in the mid-early 90’s.
If you have a bad back, do NOT wear a concealed "inside the jeans" holster. As someone who has carried a Glock 17 daily for 30 years as soon as I changed to an external holster my back pains disappeared(I am based in Israel where there is no such thing as open or concealed licenses. Here, you cannot carry in government buildings/courthouses, Sports arenas/stadia, airports and some military industry companies. Everywhere else, you just show your valid gun license and you can go in. It is also illegal to leave a gun in a car). If you want to wear a concealed weapon, and you have a bad back, go to a shoulder/under the arm holster.
As a CCW permit holder you can legally carry concealed weapon within 1000 feet distance from any public school here in Arizona. It varies from state to state.

I completely understand the grief of losing a child to a deranged mind. The fact still remains tha those people came to your gun free zone knowing full well they would have no resistance to their crazed plan. By your own good intentions, you might condemn these children to deadly harm. Shame on those who would disarm the very first responder, a teacher or janitor. Shall not be infringed. Just my opinion, but I feel really naked without mine.

You need to complete the sentence, ignorance of the law is not a defense. Unless you're a cop or politician.
For real..
Wow! That's pathetic, I never herd such a bs 😒
The Gun Free School Zone act does not apply to private property. If he was actually prosecuted for this, it's a case of an over-active prosecutor and the trial shouldn't survive past a motion for dismissal, citing the law.
The homeowner is sueing the city for the illeagal arrest. Again the Tax Payer is on the hook for cops who don't know the law or don't care about the law@@NoNonsense316

Neither should any good citizens

If you're not a criminal, but a lawful, permitted citizen that's just in the wrong place, that's your only charge. No plea down for you.
When there's a place where the law abiding citizen can't carry a gun, that's where the criminal will likely have one.

Same in Alabama.
Sadly Florida doesn’t allow us to
@@Gushing69Granny and look where that got a lot of kids. That and a chicken butt for a cop on campus.

It's just stupid. The constitution doesn't limit rights by location.
Don't always go by what someone states. You need to research the laws for yourself.
Nashville Airport as well.
Fair enough.
Armed trespassing is a felony.
NY is currently being sued for sensitive places which include some of these places, because these rules infringe on the second.
lol no
All kinds of things infringe on all rights- which I hope you understand are NOT unlimited.

@@tomd4748 I have a good life, thanks! If you are feeling bitter about that, maybe it’s time for some soul searching.
In NC, the only restrictions on a no carry sign is it has to be visible on the public entrances. Size shape and height dose not matter
So many great points here. Can include military installations with this.

Yes. Because its a federal building and you can't carry in any federal buildings period.
There was a recent court case undermining this. Look it up.
Of it is s stand alone building and parking lot. Yes you are correct. If the post office is in a rented property like a strip mall you can leave it in your vehicle. Just park closest to the post office and that won't look like your just going to the post office.

There’s a big difference as well between K-12 schools and colleges/universities. Also a big difference between private and public schools as well. In Texas for example… you can only carry at a college/university if you have a TEXAS LTC or from a reciprocity state. You can NOT carry under permit less constitutional carry.

Some places don't allow in state or county parks, either.

I completely understand the grief of losing a child to a deranged mind. The fact still remains tha those people came to your gun free zone knowing full well they would have no resistance to their crazed plan.
