    Monster pack. Prepped Nomad convinced me to get one last year and I'm glad I did. It's the one to have if you're only having one.

    I bought one of these in 1996 and I used it almost every day. When I bought it, I noticed that it had plastic sliders to attach the side pockets, this was long before the PLCE. So the sidepockets had a plastic back that you attached to the bag by sliding the pockets in the plastic slides on the bag and then lock them in to place with a small plastic hook. I thought to myself back then that this wont last very long but I could be wrong. Sure enough - first it was the hooks that fell apart after 5 years. another 5 years and the sliders broke. But the straps that was on the bag still managed to keep the sidepockets somewhat in place. I had to buy a raincover for the bag as well. 15 years later the fabric in the bag got holes in it from using it almost on every day basis. This was an early version with no molle and a very limited amount of straps that where short so whatever you needed to carry it had to go inside the bag so there was nothing on the outside of the bag tht was useful enough to actually attach something. The carry system on the bag was similar to this years version only the padding was much thicker and also much stiffer. You actually needed to use a bit force to just buckle the waist belt on due the thick padding. Anyway... last week the carry system broke down on that bag. After just 26 years. Such utter crap! Considering what I paid for it, it should have lasted at least 27 years before falling apart. So I retired it to the storage unit where it serves as storagebag. I bought the new Karrimor SF Predator 80 - 130 multicam for the same amount that I bought my old one for back in 1996. What an upgrade it is! The new version has all I ever wished my old one should have had and more. Why did'nt Karrimor do it like this from the start? The flaws on my old one where obvious. I want big ass sidepockets for my new one as well (PLCE) but they where all out of stock everywhere when I ordered my new one. I want that yoke thing with the sidepockets as well. I will invest in a bladder for it too later on. There's nothing like this bag on the market so I will go all in and take full advantage of what it can be. But when what you want is out of stock everywhere, you have to just wait it out. I'm into quality and things that last. I've looked at other bags over the years but nothing comes close to this. I'm not rich so I can't afford to buy low quality because then I get stuck in a loop where i have to buy same shit over and over again. It's a game for rich people. I did'nt say cheap shit because on occasion cheap things are actually the best quality you can get. It's not true for this bag but if you are looking for things that lasts, look for quality and not the pricetag. This bag cost a pretty penny but if it lasts 26 years as my old one did, then it's not so much really. If you want a small to big backpack to use for everything, this is the best you can get.

    I have a few very good packs but this is the one I end up taking out almost everytime I go on my travels. Got a very good deal on mine and was practically brand new thanks to 51foxy.

    Hey, I'm just wondering if the waterproof cover for this bag can cover the bag in addition with the two rocket pouches on the side.

    • @GINGER_out_and_about
      @GINGER_out_and_about  4 роки тому +1

      I dont have the cover sorry pal I wouldn't know ,,,, but I would imagine so as every other Bergen iv had the cover has gone over the rockets

      @@GINGER_out_and_about Right okay then fair enough. You see, I'm on the edge with this bag, it'll serve me well and all of that but I just think that the side rockets are also placed too high on the bag for my liking.
      Just wondering if you'd be able to do a 'fitting' video just so we can also see how it fits and handles being moved around both while being fully extended utilizing its full +130L capacity and in its smaller size capacity.
      It'll most likely be this pack or the Karrimor Predator Patrol 45 [PLCE] that I end up going for (in addition with side rockets and utility pouches due to convenience etc.)
      But thanks for getting back to me so quickly, it's much appreciated!

      @@GINGER_out_and_about this might be a bit late but on mine there’s a tiny hidden pouch built into the bottom which has the rain cover inside it.
      Mine though is an old green version pre-MOLLE. It might have been discontinued. But look carefully because it’s quite hidden
