That is the beauty of a 125, you get to appreciate your surroundings a lot more. I still pop out of my little Keeway i love it. Don't have to worry so much about what is around the next bend and you get plenty of time to soak up the scenery. I think you will fall in love with that little bike
Great review. It’s something we need more of. While seeing reviews of big bikes is great the majority of riders tend to have something in the 500 to 900 range
For a 125 it goes well carrying a a large person has your self Bruce and you didn't look out of place on it in my opinion . look forward to future video's of the bike
Good to see a smaller bike getting some air time for a change. A lot of bike for the money. Maybe you could do an entry level bike series some time. Ride safe:)

@@teapotone awesome, glad to hear it. I know they are not the most exiting unless you take them to Mongolia but they are often overlooked. When you start riding it's quite hard to find up to date reviews on these starter bikes so thanks very much.
A bike I’ve been seriously looking at. CBT booked for the beginning of next month so need something that’ll ease me into riding before taking the next steps. Love the look of adventure bikes so this, I hope, will be perfect 🤞
James Scoltock did u do your cbt? Did mine last year I felt awkward being 33 and doing my cbt but I am so glad I did it now I’m on a 125 duke 2017 and loving it hopefully doing my das soon
You say a lot of bike for the money but really the main thing you need on an adventure bike is lacking. Namely reliability. Every fixture that could rust will and fast! I know I own the SMR and the fittings are the same quality.
Love that you've taken the time to review this Bruce. I've been following info about the new CT125, which I'd consider as a second bike for winter commuting and a way of getting the missus off the pillion seat. £2500 is great value, especially if you consider it against the BMW option list. Be careful with those round the bend moments :)
To put the price of that bike into context, my Raleigh E-Bike cost me $3500 (USA) and tops out pedal assist at 28mph with a range of 45 miles tops? £2500 for a 125cc bike is fabulous!
I think any young person starting out on bikes would love this Sinnis Terrain. It looks great, has everything you could need without spending extra for butty boxes and panniers. Bikers always remember their first bike with affection and are forgiving of the limitations that they probably never see at the time of ownership. You have to think about how a person would be thrilled to bits with this as their first adventure bike. Just think of all the people that started off on a 50cc Yamaha FS1E moped and how every 16 year old at the time wanted one.. I would have given my right bollock for an FS1E at that time, but i was made to save my money until I was 17 at which time I bought a new Honda SL125.. Happy days. I think Sinnis will do well with this ADV bike. Great video Bruce as usual.. Cheers..
I have a Chinese scooter which I have had for four years now as a commuter, I own a second big bike. The scooter (125) is a giggle. The one thing to change on these things is the tyres! In the dry, tyres are fine but in the wet, really skittish. I have fitted good tyres and it has transformed the bike, loving it. 😀👍🏍. Keep it Upright!
Oooo … been searching to see if a 19stone 6ft 3 lump has any route to 125cc bikes and here I find a 20 stone 6ft 3 lump raving about a nice little no nonsense bike. Great review. Ta very much - was starting to give up hope of finding nothing but chicken chasers and potentially looking a right clown post CBT 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks very much Bruce. Great review. I have ridden Pan Europeans and 1200GS for the last twenty years, but now I'm nearly 70 I wouldn't mind one of these in the garage for a reminder of when I rode my Tiger Cub around in the late sixties. Like you I am 6ft 3" and of sound proportions; this could be something I wouldn't look to silly on, that wouldn't put my ears round my knees.
Amazing content as always Bruce, looking at doing my CBT in the new year and have pretty much decided on the Sinnis Hoodlum as my first bike, so this was really helpful. I live in Maidstone too so seeing the quality of routes just down the road, I think I'm going to have great fun.
Nice. OTW is my local dealer. Bought a Sinnis RSX last year, put 5700 miles on it and not one issue. Cheap is good for a first bike. Why pay upwards of 3 grand when the chances are it’ll get dropped/layed down. I needed a new mirror and a side fairing (I layed it down 🥴)cost 37 quid!! the equivalent on a Suzuki would have been 150 quid!! Cheers Bruce, keep ‘em coming 👍
Its a nice bike, I see the appeal if you are on a CBT and want the luxury of a brand new bike. My advice for those looking to get on a big adventure style 125 would be to get a used varadero. Amazing bikes for 125, they have the max 15bhp and can do 70mph all day long, they also have a big bike presence on the road and command a bit more respect. You can get them in good nick upwards of £1500 and like I did, sell it for what you paid for it once you've passed your test.
The biggest problem I had on my 125 was realising how slow car drivers were on A roads. With no power to overtake either I was constantly having to roll off the throttle. However if I was still in my early 20’s and brand new bike were that cheap then I definitely would be considering it.
looks like a wonderful step for a first bike especially if your looking for something that can handle more robust terrain. its on my list of first bike possibilities
What a cracking bike for folks new to biking to learn and practice their basic skills on. Wide bars, ability to do some basic shopping and have some low speed fun on too. Limits on power and acceleration early on for beginners is a good thing whilst training as you can max out on handling skills. Super frustrating of course for full licence holders but a perfect runaround or beginner bike thats worth it on pricing alone. I'd be keen to see how the workmanship stands up after several changes of owner and a few years of use, but at the price it really is a no brainer. Excellent vid Bruce with a very classy walkaround to start things off....
Thanks Pete, I’m gutted as I wanted to introduce you all to a young couple I know who rode these to Mongolia and competed in the Mogol Rally. It was going to be another ‘moto-cast’ and it was brilliant (if I do say so myself!) we had a great chat and all was good.... then when they checked their footage their audio had failed and it was unusable!!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ I’ll get them on another time though 👍
Thanks Boss for reviewing a smaller bike, I have come down to a smaller bike because I don`t need to be anywhere uber quick nowadays, I ride a Honda CBF125 which looks like a wee bit faster than the Sinnis Terrain, maybe this could be a new series of videos of the smaller bike market? keep up the great work.
@@teapotone Thanks! I had the same issue with the indicators not resetting too, and every now and then the gear indicator on the dash would disappear usually when in either 2nd or 3rd but other than it felt like a solid little bike.
The Honda varadero 125 is a good bike for tall people or long distant commute, I had one (new shape version) before passing my test. They started remaking them a few years ago.
This was the bike I did my CBT on, I am 6'4 and a big buy and felt this bike did the job. The only reason I haven't bought one is that I'm saving for a bigger bike after my test.
Always love how good the production quality is on your videos. One of the very few moto content creators who has gotten a solid grip on high quality audio with the POV shots. Really appreciate that the mic doesn't spike or has continous pops. Cheers keep up the good work !
A smart and attractive bike Bruce, for similar money to an ebike. 12bhp would have been about the norm for the 250cc starter bikes in the sixties, learn your craft on something manageable and live to progress. It worked for me!
We looked at one of these as a possibility for my lad as his first bike just before the whole c thing blew up and I was very impressed with it, like you said it is a proper sized bike and it fitted my lad perfectly although he is not quite as big as you he is a full sized adult. To be honest I would have been happy for him to have it at £2.5k and 2 years warranty but he decided he wanted a sports bike instead in the finish so we ended up with a second hand KTM for the same money.
Really pleased you have one of these... I want to do my CBT and get moving, learn some skills etc, and like Bruce I am a larger gentleman :D - built for comfort and not speed - and its great to see its very usable. Look forward to seeing more.
Good vid Bruce, bought the wife a honda cb125 f just before lockdown didn't look at the Chinese bike as there resale value is a lot less. Pity your not up in the sunny nw of England you could have a borrow for a back to back comparison 👍
It’s great to see you reviewing a little 125cc bike. Ok, not the fastest thing on two wheels but then when you’re on a CBT licence, and therefore a new rider, you don’t want to be able to hit the ton. That why we can only get going on 125s; thank you Mr Bottomley. I look forward to the rest of the road tests on this model 👍
OMG 20 stone. But you don't seem to be killing the bike. For you American viewers, 20 stone =280 pounds. Love your accent scotsman, and you showed me some beautiful country. This reminds me of my first bike. No power but lots of fun. Excellent review. So much crammed into the package deal on this one. Love the luggage capacity and the large tank for extra miles. It's amazingly quiet and looked like a very smooth ride. Of course, your country seems to have very well maintained roads unlike our country. Pot holes everywhere
Bought a new Terrain to get me back into biking after 40 years. Great little bike. Also had problems with false neutrals on downshifts until I blipped the throttle on changing down, problem solved.
Well that was my lunch break sorted, thanks Bruce! I see the appeal of a small engine bike, but if I went that route I'd go for around 250CC I think, just to make it more useable day to day. Keep it up!
Okay. That’s a decent package and for a remarkable price. Beginning to wonder if my 2009 XL Varadero 125 was such a good idea! Nimble and easy to man handle and pick back up when you drop it off road! Free panniers! Bloody hell! I don’t get much fun riding trunk roads but bimbling through villages and lanes is pure joy. I suspect my Honda has a little bit more hill climbing ability.
@@theirrationalgamer8174 it went well I got really lucky and got the instructor all to myself as someone else cancelled! I’m not sure I personally would have made it through the day if I was in a group as I wasn’t the most confident with the bike. I reckon I’ll probably take a few extra lessons once my bike arrives!
Good video mate. Indeed this bike has done the Mongol rally (I watched a video). There is also a video of a bloke riding from Landsend to John O Groats in 24 hrs.
I’ve owned one for a bit now but only used it on private land since the lockdown meant I couldn’t get my license.. so it’s now in storage. But I have to say for a short and skinny guy, this bike feels big BUT when you’re on it the balance is great and actually doesn’t feel hard to handle even in tight corners but if you have to stop by lights or similar then tiptoes is the way you’re going to reach the floor from the slightly high seat, but for an average person it shouldn’t be an issue I love the headlights that look like a fox head when turned on and little features such as the super easy to change screen colour and km/h / mp/h unit display Also keep up the good work for your channel, I love your videos
3.36 good job the brakes work well. Anything that encourages the next generation onto two wheels is fantastic. Way too many bikers are grey haired old souls like me.
I liked your presentation of this bike. I ride Honda CB125R, and really happy with that. I have, however, put a touring screen on the front, and more than happy with the way that performs. Looking to do DAS as soon as we can get this pandemic out of the way. I have subscribed and will look for more of your videos.
Thanks for the review. I don’t know how many miles it had on, but usually once they’re run in a bit more they do tend to rev more freely and deliver better power/speed.
No worries bud, I’ve just done another couple of vids on the latest incarnation of the Terrain 125 where I took it around the Uk. It’ll cope with you on it👍
I've owned one of these for nearly 3 years done 20,000 miles and very impressed with the bike. 14L fuel tank but the gauges are woefully inaccurate on amount left to use
@@laurencooper1169 yes it is. Gone through 3 winters on it very planted and safe feeling on the road and the riding position gives you a great view of what's going on in front
Excellent review big fella! Nice to see the smaller, cheaper bikes getting a look-in. Sounded like you enjoyed it as well. How about getting hold of a Benelli TRK next time? I'm interested in what that's like with one of us "big" blokes on it. Cheers!!
Looking to get my first bike. I've never rode a bike in my life so I'm looking for a entry level bike and come across these and after seeing this review I think I would be happy to buy one thank you 👍
Awesome video dude . Loving the new direction and production values of the last few videos. You've really upped you're game and it shows, so mucho kudos and recognition. If you are ever in the Derbyshire area and fancy a ride around the incredible peaks hit me up (Even if you dont come ride with me definitely come to the peaks, bikers paradise. Head to Winnats Pass/hope valley). Also I have a Suzuki Gsx-s 125 and you are more then welcome to have a play with it if u want. Id love to see what someone who can ride thinks to it lol.
Great review I've been riding over 20years my days of going hell for leather are over I'd love one of these just chill and go to my favourite cafe which is 30 miles away from my home looking forward to more
Cheers Donald, aye it’s a great wee bike. The new Terrain 380 is coming out soon so I can’t wait to try that too. These smaller bikes are so much fun 👍
Nifty little bike. As a reminder, if you are on a CBT you can't take pillions anyway, but if you're a lanky 17 year old who wants a bike to go camping on that looks ideal. I'd be interested to know how it compares to a Varadero 125 though. Good video TeaPot!
Really enjoyed that! I was impressed by the Sinnis when i first saw it at one of the shows. It seems to me to have the presence of a much bigger bike, (maybe because i'm a much smaller bloke) and it's brilliant value for money. I am sure you loved every minute of that ride, seems like it's a "smile on your face every time you ride it" sort of bike. Oh and, re; the moron that pulled out in front of you, not even a "sorry mate" wave or a spoken apology....bad manners are everywhere.
I had a Pulse Adrenaline 125 when I was on my cbt had it for a year and I couldn't knock it! Solid piece of kit, a bit vibey from the panels but nothing earplugs wouldn't fix 😂 got a k8 gsxr 1000 now and its my pride and joy!
I took my test back in the UK when you could only have 125cc before getting the test, and you had to do that off-road round-the-cones pre-test before you could even *apply* for your proper test. I had an MZ ETZ125, which had 12hp, and other than the backwards kickstart, was a great little machine. Seen a few of these Sinnis bikes on TMF's channel, and they look pretty good. This Terrain in particular... I would have one in a minute, if only they sold them in the US. where I now live...
I finally got round to testing the calimoto app and went with your advice and didn’t choose the super twisty option, instead going to the one to the left of that. But jeeez it still took my down some proper farm tracks, then again probs not his fault as so many of them in Norfolk! It seems wiser in some county’s to use it to pick up a route someone has already tried and tested.
Got one to get Some road time in after being away from bikes for years and can’t fault it fantastic seating position sold it now but no regrets in buying it cheap wee bike and worth the road miles I did on it 2500
Wow just read an article about the bike, it can do over 100mpg with a range of nearly 300 miles? Wish they had these when I was learning to ride (all those years ago)...
You'd definitely need to see a Review of this bike done by someone who is much lighter because the power loss is presumably significant between hauling the weight of the bike and a rider weighing 10st rather than 20st. I'm not exactly a ballerina myself, I want a bike that can do 60mph quite easily pulling me & any kitchen sink I happen to want to take with me : )
Cracking video Bruce, it's great to see a well known youtuber doing a proper review on a small bike. I keep trying to persuade my Mrs to do her test but to be honest, I'm tempted by one of these for my own short commute! Looking forward to hearing how the rest of the week on it goes... All the best 👍
Great video as always, Bruce! I know it is hard, if not impossible, to address the longevity and build quality in a quick review but what are you long term thoughts? Assuming all the appropriate care and maintenance are taken care of, do you think it would survive our brilliant winters and daily abuse?
Reminds me of the Honda Varadero 125 I did my CBT on, big bike feels, looks and sound with it being a twin, Sinnis could be on to a winner here especially without Honda prices (a second hand Varadero 125 will cost the same as the Sinnis new!)
I've got a Varadero 125. Regularly do week long trips within the UK. Stick to A and B roads (just because they're more interesting than motorways). Very economical. Great fun. Will easily cruise at 65mph.
Buff Rider I loved the Varadero 125 for learning on, looked for one while I was building towards my full license, but none were close by and the used buying price is quite strong! But like you say happy to cruise at 60-65mph 👍🏻
Takes me back to Yamaha DT50's and riding on my mates who used to ride into school on it back in the mid 80's! Learners nowadays have so much choice in the style of bike they can get which is cool. Some of the Chinese copies look the part although none of them go! Nice to see you avoided death by Renault. Brakes worked then?
Well done mr teapot, another great review, I must congratulate you on the skill of your vids, definitely taking it to another level, look out TMF. You deserve the subs. Really enjoyable watch. Keep being different we don't want you all reviewing the same bikes 👍
Great review bruce and as another motorcyclist said its not what you ride as long as you ride seems a lot of bike for the money wrll done for doing the smaller class variety is the spice of life
This would be perfect but as a 20st gorilla also, I needed it to be a bit more powerful, my commute is an 80mile round trip with mostly 60/70 roads, cant be getting overtaken my lorries
Super cool to see you riding one of my riding routes. That 125 looks very capable, and I think Sinnis do a bigger terrain now, so maybe you can test the too?
i have a bullit spirit (not an enfield) 125 retro cafe racer style these are great fun to ride around on and for the price you cant go wrong with them £2000/£2500 on the road compared to a honda cb125 rthey about £4000 and they wont go any faster than these they dont look any better than these either .. great to see someone else about my size on a 125..
Is there any chance you'll be trying the 380cc Terrain they've got coming out soon? Was meant to be coming out this year but it's all gone quiet for a while.
Great review, very realistic thank you. Something about keeping up corner speed in the right gear on the smaller bike reminds you how to ride without needing a racetrack.

Great review, i love smaller bikes. I have had many 125 and 250 cc bikes.. Currently i own a Suzuki V-Strom 250 and V-Strom 1000 and Honda NC750X DCT
Great video. I’ve had my eye on one of these for a while now, as someone that just wants to cruise along it looks perfect
Bought a new Terrain to get me back into biking after 40 years. Great little bike. Also had problems with false neutrals on downshifts until I blipped the throttle on changing down, problem solved.
Never watched one of your bike reviews, but found to honest and entertaining. I'll subscribe and watch more, thank you Mr Teapot.
Well that was my lunch break sorted, thanks Bruce! I see the appeal of a small engine bike, but if I went that route I'd go for around 250CC I think, just to make it more useable day to day. Keep it up!
They are doing a 380cc version for around £3600
What a pleasant change to see a test review on a real world bike "Affordable" for the beginner biker . 😁👍
Got my eye on this. CBT booked for the 18th of may could be keen!
Howd your cbt go lad? I'm still awaiting my provisional then I'll booking mine
@@IanDevlinPhoto good on you lad! Hope it all goes well, did you end up going for the terrain in the end?
@@theirrationalgamer8174 nah man I ended up buying a Honda PCX 125 in the end it’s just so practical and cheap to run
Just bought a 70 plate of this today. Picking it up on Wednesday. First bike!!
Nice one Conner, welcome to the biking family bud.
Enjoy it and stay safe 👍
Good video mate. Indeed this bike has done the Mongol rally (I watched a video).
There is also a video of a bloke riding from Landsend to John O Groats in 24 hrs.
I’ve owned one for a bit now but only used it on private land since the lockdown meant I couldn’t get my license.. so it’s now in storage.
But I have to say for a short and skinny guy, this bike feels big BUT when you’re on it the balance is great and actually doesn’t feel hard to handle even in tight corners but if you have to stop by lights or similar then tiptoes is the way you’re going to reach the floor from the slightly high seat, but for an average person it shouldn’t be an issue
I love the headlights that look like a fox head when turned on and little features such as the super easy to change screen colour and km/h / mp/h unit display
Also keep up the good work for your channel, I love your videos
3.36 good job the brakes work well. Anything that encourages the next generation onto two wheels is fantastic. Way too many bikers are grey haired old souls like me.
I purchased a new Zontes monster 125 for £1050 2 years ago still going great.
Great review mate and thankyou- just passed my cbt and looking at getting one of these
I liked your presentation of this bike. I ride Honda CB125R, and really happy with that. I have, however, put a touring screen on the front, and more than happy with the way that performs. Looking to do DAS as soon as we can get this pandemic out of the way. I have subscribed and will look for more of your videos.
Cheers Mark 👍
Funny review :) I loved my Yamaha MT125 when I was learning. Absolutely loved whizzing around working the gear box to the max, proper riding!
Yeah there’s something about riding these wee bikes, it’s just fun isn’t it!
Superb review -- answered all the questions I had in my head. Thank you.
Excellent stuff, Bruce. Long live bikes like this!
Watching this put a big smile on my face . Nice 1 teapot 😂
Watched lots of your videos over lockdown keep it going.
Thanks for the review. I don’t know how many miles it had on, but usually once they’re run in a bit more they do tend to rev more freely and deliver better power/speed.
As a 20stone guy I was unsure about this bike, thanks for the top notch review...
No worries bud, I’ve just done another couple of vids on the latest incarnation of the Terrain 125 where I took it around the Uk.
It’ll cope with you on it👍
@@teapotone Nice I will check those out, Thanks for the reply
I've owned one of these for nearly 3 years done 20,000 miles and very impressed with the bike. 14L fuel tank but the gauges are woefully inaccurate on amount left to use
They’re great fun aren’t they!
Aye apologies about the error with the tank capacity 👍
Hey Stephen is a great commuter?
@@laurencooper1169 yes it is. Gone through 3 winters on it very planted and safe feeling on the road and the riding position gives you a great view of what's going on in front
@@stephenatha nice one im looking at getting one as I love the look and the sitting position for it! thanks for replying 😁
How many miles does it go before servicing please?
Ha ha thanks David, yeah the Peaks is a beautiful part of the world to ride isn’t it 👍
Great review I've been riding over 20years my days of going hell for leather are over I'd love one of these just chill and go to my favourite cafe which is 30 miles away from my home looking forward to more
Cheers Donald, aye it’s a great wee bike. The new Terrain 380 is coming out soon so I can’t wait to try that too. These smaller bikes are so much fun 👍
As a local do anything bike with storage I really like it.
As you say Bruce a great bike for the CBT riders. Keep it coming mate.
I bought this for my first bike. getting my CBT license in a week
TP one, I've really enjoyed your videos in lockdown . thanks buddy love this video 👌👍 from R1 Greg 😉
Many a great adventure to be had on a 125 and this looks like a good one for the money. Have a great Christmas.
you should try a honda varedero 125 really comfy and will maintain 65-70 everywhere!
No bad wee bike that Bruce for a125 !!!!! What a 125cc ! Not much in cost either.great wee review vid big man
Cheers John 👍
It only has a 9.5 litre tank is it 100mpg or 300 miles range
Brilliant 🤣. Mind you I could get the same speeds out of my SS50 back in the 70's.
My de restricted aprilia SX50 has 12hp
Used to go all over on my SS50, so long ago mind you ;-)
Great video as always, Bruce!
Was waiting for the 360 to lose a jousting match with a van coming the other way!
I'd love to see you have a crack at a Honda Grom / MSX
Well done mr teapot, another great review, I must congratulate you on the skill of your vids, definitely taking it to another level, look out TMF. You deserve the subs. Really enjoyable watch. Keep being different we don't want you all reviewing the same bikes 👍
Bruce try the small BMW I think they will open your eyes too, I was surprised when I had the chance try one.
That 125 looks very capable, and I think Sinnis do a bigger terrain now, so maybe you can test the too?
i have a bullit spirit (not an enfield) 125 retro cafe racer style these are great fun to ride around on and for the price you cant go wrong with them £2000/£2500 on the road compared to a honda cb125 rthey about £4000 and they wont go any faster than these they dont look any better than these either .. great to see someone else about my size on a 125..
personally it’s not a bike for me. but it’s a great bike for young guys wanting to get into biking and do a bit of exploring/camping.
I knew this was coming when I saw your test route on Calimoto. Good timing as well, I've been tempted by these as a replacement commuter.
Is there any chance you'll be trying the 380cc Terrain they've got coming out soon? Was meant to be coming out this year but it's all gone quiet for a while.
Nice to see you reviewing a small capacity bike Bruce.....I wonder if it's the first and last!
Great review, very realistic thank you. Something about keeping up corner speed in the right gear on the smaller bike reminds you how to ride without needing a racetrack.
Amazing review! Thanks for uploading.
I'm curious which phone dock do you use?
Thanks Rajas, I’m using the UltimateAddOns phone case with their Helix Strap Mount - ultimateaddons.com/collections/attachment/products/ultimateaddons-helix-locking-strap-bike-attachment-21-40mm
