I have to change my led bulbs every time I take my mokka for a m.o.t
But the 55w h7 are crap ....
This is really a game changer! The LED bulbs are so much brighter! The halogen bulbs are rubbish especially the pathetic yellow light and dim!! I also had a pair of LEDs too and they are so much better and see where I’m going!😅
They will fail MOT, you cannot convert halogen bulbs or led. It specifically states on the box of the bulbs itself (off road use only)
@punkrock1989 wrong. They passed MOT :)
@@punkrock1989 well you’re saying it’s an MOT fail, my car also went through it’s MOT and it passed 2 MOTs with LEDs in. My car has projectors and you can’t see the bulb behind the fish bowl. The tester is not allowed to dismantle anything during the test to look for something that is approved, all they do is test the alignment and the beam pattern is correct by using the headlamp aligner making sure it’s in tolerance
It’s for cars with non projectors using LEDs is an mot fail (Existing bulbs for halogen headlamp unit should not be converted to be used with LEDs or HIDs for cars after 1st April 1986, if such conversion has been done you must fail the headlamp for headlamp light source and lamp not compatible)
My country is trying to ban overly bright aftermarket lights in automotive.
Apparently incoming traffic gets blinded and are unaware how to drive, acting like a moth to the flames leading to crash.
And when you read the instructions it’s for off-road use, could be tricky explaining that away if you had a serious accident especially as you have made a UA-cam video.
Same would apply to those driving massive cars with factory fitted leds... regardless of auto self leveling etc
I’m not sure the size of car is a factor but if it’s factory it’s been approved for road use which these have not
@@joffnun0172 size IS a factor as the lights sit higher up... this is particularly noticeable on hills as you hit with an arc of intense light from on coming cars
I hate the bright as daylight led headlights. I have the laser lights on my BMW and they are bright enough.
These are certainly not as bright as the OEM lights on my supra but a great upgrade than halogen lights. Certainly not going to blind people
No, it’s a big problem in the US. All the big suv and trucks and they just keep making their headlights brighter. No regulation on max brightness here at all.
OK then worse case just unscrew the headlight and put it back in had 2 do that on my focus I had years ago fat hands never helped. As long as the fan ain't 2 close to the cover will be happy
Those leds are not aligned as they are supposed to be inside the headlight
Problem you have now with xover on the fan is tottaly ussless no air as you blocking the back of it hahahahah
I mean, if you applied common sense and logic to your comment if you left the cover off there would be no need for a fan to begin with ....hahahahahahaha
@@ZER0Y0Nbit confused here, without cover the led won't fit and with cover the heat gets trapped inside the light? Pls correct me if I m missing something.
well done, your headlights now let you see better, but other drivers will be blinded, as your headlights weren’t designed for LED Bulls. Also your car is now Illegal as your car headlights were designed for halogen bulbs, not leds, and will fail an MOT.
No, they won’t. You have absolutely zero idea how bright they are in person or compared to other road users. They are projector headlights not reflector so yes they can take LEDs and doesn’t affect beam whatsoever. They didn’t fail the MOT, they have passed, TWICE. Probably better you know what you’re talking about next time you lecture somebody
@ I think you better read the regulations regarding the upgrade of headlights from Halogen Bulbs to LED Bulbs. The reason your car passed its MOT is due to the fact the Tester couldn’t see the bulbs weren’t Halogen. So if I have no idea, then the regulations are wrong as well.
Also while I remember, it even says on Halfords website, “For Of Road Use Only.”
So who’s right now?
I’m aware of the regulations, LEDs shouldn’t be used because they are not E marked, not because they are suddenly going to blind people, they are still not as bright as my other two cars, meet all the correct beam patterns but enable me to see better, they are not fitted just to do something “cool” the my were fitted because on unlit motorways and rainy nights I found barely see a thing, if I have to have people like you moan about something at the expense of being able to see then so be it.
@@ZER0Y0N the simple answer is your happy to brake the law, just because it suits your needs.
@@ZER0Y0N so your happy to drive around braking the law, because it suits you to do so.
Leave it to my English cousins to do a proper review.
And now everyone else is blind
Wrong. Still nowhere near as bright as my other two cars 👌
ye OSRAM version of this is superior. also halogene lights are total crap, only good whith extra light running in snowstorm cause it melts the ice off the glass.
Retro fit LEDs are illegal and will fail an MOT
So don’t fit them then :)
Well, it passed the MOT on mine😂😂😂😂
@davidriley9194 yep 👍
