Congratulations on making this move. I just found your channel while watching another and and sub'ed. To me your reasons are yours, as are everyone of the other 50 + channels I follow. You are doing what I wish I could do, and have wanted to for close to 25 years. I had 3 small children to raise as a widowed father and put my life on hold for them. I am now in my mid 70's so get my sailing fix by following those that can fulfill their dreams. Looking forward to catching up and following your journey. Take care, be safe and sail on.
@@amiestafford as we've gotten rid of items one at a time, we've realized we don't need the things we've gotten rid of. And gradually we just got more and more brazen about it! Haha
Just came across your channel. Taylor, you act like you're very tuff, but you're a marshmallow inside. We felt your sadness, about selling your first home, and parting with your wedding dress, but don't ever look back!! You both are very young, and very blessed to be able you do this at your ages.
Haha it’s true! I once was tough but now I’m a big softie and I have no apologies on that front ☺️ thank you so much for watching! Hope you enjoyed it.
I just found you guys from the post from Cartegena. I didnt watch it. I had to see if you started from beginning and have to say im extremely excited to watch you. Looks like it's working out good for you. Happy Sailing.
Well I just watched this video of your leaving your home ! You both have balls ! I have done the same thing with my wife. We own a J 40….. I have been in the boating business my whole life. Enjoy your time sailing,……
What a moving video this was. I bought our first boat 11 years ago with the same dream but Cancer popped into our life and lost my wife 5 years ago this year. I am on a different boat now and sold our family home a year ago. Loved your comment about WTF are we doing. Ha ha I felt the same as I drove away from my home the last time. I am thinking seriously about the Baja Ha ha this year only 9 years late. Well It’s never a bad time to live your dream. Thank you for the heart filled video and fair winds to Via and crew
Just found your channel and had to jump to the beginning to see how your adventure started. I hope to soon be in this situation too, I know it's going to be difficult for my wife and I doubt she will get rid of her wedding dress, it's been in storage inside a chest for 37 years 😉 I'm 100% ready to move on
My wife, Candice, and I just came across this video. I know this is from a year ago, but congrats! You are at a goal we are trying to get to. We subscribed, so it'll be interesting catching up on your content to see how far you've come.
Hi loved this. My wife and I are planning the same jump. Such a leap of faith. Can you tell me the name of the song at the end of your video? (Hello hello?) Loved that. Im looking forward to catching up with your story. Thank you guys!
Wishing you the best as you make your dreams become a reality. Have subscribed to follow your journey! When our triplets are grown we hope to do exactly the same thing...
Why did you not AIRBNB it for maximum rental potential? Or rent it out? Get a steady stream of income. Never know when you might wanna go back. Your house only goes UP in value, where the boat will go DOWN.
We have a steady stream of income, but thanks for your concern. We did not want to deal with maintaining a property from around the world, and we will not be returning to Seattle again. So we sold.
It took a lot of work! Mike spent all summer listing things on Facebook marketplace and Craigslist. Other stuff we donated. For the most part it felt great to get rid of all that stuff!

It's never too late
Very moving episode… Ty for sharing it with us. ♥️✌🏼⛵️
I cried. I know this day is coming for us in the coming weeks. It's hard.
It is hard, but so worth it!
Congrats on choosing minimalism! Not easy sometimes getting rid of things... we're discovering that now ourselves!
Thank you! It can be tough for sure but I think it's harder to have all the things own you. Feels good to be free!
How do you do it??

Thanks so much for watching! It was definitely tough to get rid of so much so fast, but to be honest there are very few things we miss.
