The use of night vision goggles might have also contributed to the problem. It's also likely that the helicopter pilots picked up on the wrong aircraft to avoid.

*1 Sha’bān 1446* Our Beloved Prophet ﷺ mentioned in a Hadīth: أَحْصُوا هِلالَ شَعْبانَ لِرَمَضَانَ “Carefully look for the crescent of Sha’bān for Ramadān.” Alhamdulillāh, upon the setting of the sun a short while ago the new crescent of Sha’bān was sighted in Florida, marking the end of the month of Rajab, and *ushering in the month of Sha’bān.* The Du’ā to be recited upon *sighting the new crescent:* اللهمَّ أهلّه علينا بالأمن و الإيمان و السلامة و الإسلام ربي و ربك الله “O Allah! Allow us to enter this month with protection and faith, and with saftey and submission. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.” We are now officially *one month away from Ramadān*. اللهمّ باركْ لنا في شعبان و بلِّغْنا رمضان “O Allah! Bless us in the month of Sha’bān, *And allow us to witness Ramadān.”*
