I think why becoming a jedi is so overwhelming is because we are much older now in our lives, none of us our 2-5 when the typical student would be adopted into the training. it's from a early age that u devote yourself to the Jedi way , for example finding your peace at a young age. it would've been a bit easier to complete the jedi training if u started at the typical age ( 2-5) as you have devoted your entire life to it.

I believe Boy Scouts is very similar to becoming a Jedi, as a Cub Scout, you are learning basic things about being a Scout, like simple things as a Jedi, once a Boy Scout, you are like the padawan to the older scouts. Also, it is very hard to become an Eagle Scout, like becoming a Jedi Knight. But once completed, both have a pretty important ceremony. As an Eagle Scout myself, I feel like the whole becoming a Jedi thing, in summary, is very similar to becoming an Eagle Scout. Just an anology, nothing big.

I could not be true Jedi. I would more likely walk the line between light and dark, similar to Kyle Katarn. To be a force sensitive/user, not dark, but also not devoted to the Jedi teachings due to their views on emotions. I believe giving in to your natural feelings, but being able to control or keep the darkness within in check.

If Anakin was trained without being a slave he would have been fine. If Anakin would have been trained without knowing his mother thus leading to attachment, he would have been fine. If Anakin was trained during the peaceful times and not the Clone Wars, he would have been fine. If Anakin had the guidance of Qui-Gon Jinn and not Obi-Wan, who tried as hard as he could, Anakin would have been fine. Anakin Skywalker was not an evil person, but just a victim of circumstance.

    • @Rykrai
      @Rykrai 8 років тому +7

Anakin's rise and fall is a classic story of someone who didn't deal with his issues. Obi-Wan wasn't equipped to help him and it seemed as if Obi-Wan boiled down Anakin's transgressions as "youthfulness," and assumed that like himself, he would just grow out of them.
I completely agree, that if Qui-gon had of trained Anakin, he would have developed better emotionally but Anakin still made his own choices. He chose to do evil things and after he become Vader, continued on in that same vain.
Anakin might not have started out as down-right evil, but he did make all the choices that got him there in the end. He wasn't a victim of circumstance.

    • @Rykrai
      @Rykrai 8 років тому +3

I agree, if Anakin had of dealt with the root of his core issues it would have been highly unlikely for him to have turned to the dark side. There would have been no reason for him to.
But that would not as interesting as a story. Flaws maketh the character.

Meditating on the force sounds more appealing to me than going on the front lines. I'd probably be a bad consular because I would be compelled to study some of the dark side, trying to unlock the secrets of the force without falling prey to the Dark. I'd try to do what Mace Windu did with form 7, except with the force instead of lightsaber techniques.

    I have two 'what ifs'.
    1) What if Galen Marek escaped with Kota and the rebels.
    2) What if Windu listened to Anakin and brought Palpatine to stand trial.
I am curious of the outcomes. And if there are multiple outcomes to either, I would like to hear each of them.
    Thank you.

How cool would it be to see an entire force ghost Jedi Council in Episode 8 where Luke is at? Some members could be Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Qui-Gon Jinn, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Shaak Ti, Eeth Koth, and perhaps even Ahsoka Tano. I would think this would be one of the best Star Wars moments if this were to happen. Also, perhaps we could see even an entire force ghost Sith Council that teaches Kylo Ren along with Snoke with other famous members of the Star Wars lore. This could mean that longtime favorites could finally become canon if they aren't already.

Why is luke engraved into the order as a hero? He directly murdered millions on the death star because it was the easy way, isn't this the path of the darkside? Sure you can bring up the point of "Oh the death star blew up a planet", but you must realize something. These people on the death star where listoning to orders. These where regular civilians that where probably trying to find ways to support their family's. It is stated that a jedi should find non violent ways to create peace, and only use violence as a last means. Therefore, even after the greatest purge, the jedi where still susceptible to ignorance. And this is why they ultimately fell again from the Knights of ren.

think about it though, how would Luke have taken that entire battle station with out destroying it. Especially before it blew up the Rebel Base on Yavin 4, with barely any training in the force or with a lightsaber. Yes a Jedi should try to find the path on Non-Violence, but it is also wrong to allow the murder and destruction that the death star would bring. Their may have been innocents on board, but they were a very legitimate threat to the entire Galaxy as a whole. Blowing it up was the only way. Sacrifice the few for the many.

I would be able to manage Jedi training. I've been meditating since I was a kid, trained hard as a fighter as a teenager, and studied vigorously all my life. However, I would most likely take up a green or silver lightsaber and still become a Jedi Sentinel, as there is no point in protecting a society that you yourself do not participate in. Being autistic, I struggle to connect to others, and being force sensitive would be a good way to help me to remove such barriers.

Some masters, such as Aayla Secura, never trained a padawan though. Most knights train a padawan and then achieve the rank of master, but some don't.

I was looking for the personality trait prerequisites to becoming a Jedi. In particular the part of the movie when Darth Vader as 5 yrs old and the council was hesitant to allow him to ener Jedi training because he was almost too old & because he was not pure because his purity was tainted by the death of his mother. The death of his mother at this young age made him very angry. The council said new initiates should be younger and have a pure spirit with no pain of this sort and if they allow him in, this anger/pain could distort his Jedi training and lead his spirit to wander to "the dark side."
Could you talk more about these types of Jedi prerequisites? I believe in power & the spirit of purity (also healing).
    I know it's theoretical and it's only a movie 🙂

I think it would be difficult for me to become a Jedi as some of the trials are really heroic tasks , however if it were possible I'd prefer being one in the Old Republic era and I'd want to become a Consular rather than a Guardian or Sentinel.

You should do Sith training breakdown and analysis.

I don't think I could. We all say we could, though it takes so much dedication and self control. I suppose it's not really something you choose, but are instead chosen. That would make it easier, as with the usual path of becoming a Jedi as you said, starts very very early, and we don't have as many distractions and old habits to break.
I think it's something a child can do, but oddly enough in this case, not a mature adult.

I'm sure that, as I am now, I'd make it. not so sure about my pre/teen years though. I'm not sure if I'd be a Sentinel or Consular though. I like the idea of being one of the wise ones that meditates and avoids combat, but at the same time I would want to walk among the people of the galaxy.

I would certainly be a sentinel as I believe that everything is good in moderation. I don't quite get the argument "Why train as a jedi and waste your life living among simple people?" You have become a jedi to protect those in need, not to mindlessly kick ass and be cool. If you are needed as an undercover agent, then so be it for this is the path of a jedi that you have chosen.

I wish Mace Windu remained as a grandmaster.
    That'd be cool.
And fitting too considering that his personally developed fighting style could be considered a perfect antidote to the dark side of the force

Wow, the best Vid about Star Wars I've seen the last days, pretty good analysis ! I'd be a Jedi Conselour, but I really can't tell if I'd actually be able to master everything to become a Jedi, it's way too complex and they're basically monks, and that's nothing I could imagine to be...

Sometimes I wonder if Jedi really held true to the no romance rule or if it was kind of like the NIght's Watch where you take a vow to be celibate but deep down everyone is scoring on the side, they just keep quiet about it. Considering Mace broke the code when it came to willingness to strike down prisoners (He tell Ani that Sidious is too dangerous to keep alive when Sidious said the same about Dooku) it is perhaps not a stretch that the code was more of a guideline than a hard rule.

I want a multiple-scenario Star Wars game that has you start out as a Youngling during the end of the Clone Wars. You can choose four Jedis that you admire. If you admire Mace Windu, you're all about combat, and you'll deal with more serious/enforcement scenarios. If you admire Obi-Wan, you're all about compassion, justice, and using violence as a very last resort. You'll deal with diplomatic scenarios, defense combat, and least likely to turn to the dark side. If you admire Anakin, you're all about getting a victory by any means necessary. Whether that means killing w/o answers, or betraying allies. You'll deal with tempting scenarios, and fighting scenarios. You're fuel is anger, and emotion. You're more likely to turn to the dark side. The one catch howevr, is that this game would have the Jedi admirations, and scenarios intersect, so there are many possibilities of how your Jedi will turn out. You get to choose what planet he/she is from, force abilities, and then from there, upgrade and enhance them, lightsaber depends on nature of your Jedi. If your Jedi remains on the light side, you get to complete tasks to get to whatever rank such as Sentinel, Master, Diplomat, Council Member, Knight, or Archives. If you're a Sith, you can choose to kill your master, but you may die if you're not powerful enough. Comment if you have any other suggestions.

The color of the light saber the Jedi possessed discribes their role with in the order right ? Like blue being gaurdians and green being the counselors. But Jedis got their crystals before they knew the path they took so how is it that the color of your saber determines the role you play in the order ?

  • @insanemtl5890

I think I could become a Jedi. If I managed to become a Jedi Knight, I would make my decision for a certain path based on the colour of my lightsaber and my experiences as a Padawan. Even though I am more interested in Lightsaber combat than in The Force, my initial preference would probably be to become a Jedi Consular.

I simplified it to 10 levels. Level 1.Know Truth, Lie, Half Truth. Level 2. Jedi Mind Tricks. Read minds, control minds, block minds. Level 3.Know Law. Know law, illegal, and loophole. Level 4. Know your weapon; lightsaber and it's Kyber crystals. Level 5.Dualing. one hand, two hand , and one hand and the Force. Level 6.Use the Force. Lift, drop, hover. Level 7. Jump up. Jump, jump higher, jump even higher. Level 8.Run. Walk to Trot, Trot to Run, Run to Sprint. Level 9. Face your fears. Level 10. Graduation. Jedi Knight. Well this is not entirely canon but it is just Jedi Training simplified. All of it actually works...
