The song’s underlying meaning is that the polar bear (an endangered species, referring to America’s lower class) is in a mosh pit with many other animals (representing the U.S. economy) and the elephant is representing the Republican Party. And in the mosh pit, taking place early in the day, the polar bear is taking one too many elbows and kicks from the elephant. Realizing that he is not welcome there, the polar bear leaves the mosh pit and begins riding the city bus to wherever it is it...
This is true poetry xD Poetry: Teacher explains poets meaning. Rise Against: Director explains that it is not just a great beat. It has an even deeper meaning than i originally thought.
@Fubnuggets the band's name is "Rise Against" and their a punk rock band who has a liberal, political left leaning message and participated on the "Rock Against Bush" tours and compilations. How did you not get what the video was about?
@ryanwelsh2132, in the words of Joe Hill, 'a pamphlet, no matter how good, is never read more than once. But a song is learned by heart and repeated over and over'. Music is, to me, an expression of emotion and passion and if somebody is passionate about a subject, such as politics, then it is the perfect thing to write a song about, also it is spreading a great message among the people who listen to the music and attempting to make a change in this world,
Wow, lots of reading between the lines in this video. Totally different view of this band. I like how they have little message of meaning towards the making of this video. Good song as well.
@Fubnuggets no thats what the video is about. the song just kinda makes a good example for the situation? idk how to explain but you can merge the song with many examples :D
furries have always had a meaning, it is to be accepting of your fellow being, and stand up for what you feel inside. it's to never back down when the going get's rough, it's to know if you ever need a helping hand, reach out and someone will catch you. it's more of family than fandom. we speak for those that can't speak, we stand tall where others shy away. so i'm proud to be a furry, and I hope that smiles always find a way into your heart.
i never thought savior was like political or people based... i always thought it was for like Peta or something like that o.O great to know! it all makes sense now =D love it!
Please please keep using this director, even though you most likely will. Maybe it's time you guys take your music to the next level... Again, you now have the fan base to release lyrics like the olden days 10 or so years ago, you know?! Any long term fan knows what I am talking about, but 99% of new people listening have never heard the original RiseAgainst, and their virgin ears need a wake up call... Just saying.
takes him (perhaps representing unemployment.) As he is riding, the polar bear sees many other homeless animals searching for food or trying to stay warm, that contemplation brings the polar bear to the realization that the world is not perfect. Then, he sees the elephant limping through a tunnel. As he passes, the polar bear pulls the bus over by pulling the chain in order to let the elephant on and sit next to him. The song is all about forgiveness between two opposites.
@MrJDotson13 To be honest I have no idea anymore lol. I posted this last month and I have completely forgotten ^^. This was when I really hated him, but I learned to deal with it now and I can care less lol. Good points and bad. One thing still stands Rock will outlast Hip Hop any day and idk I just used them as examples I think so sorry about that.
@ryanwelsh2132, I know what you mean, maybe Rise Against wouldn't be the best subject to base political song writing around but they still are a brilliant band, and the video was just wierd.
The video does have something to do with the lyrics. It's just coated with figurative language. He's not straight out telling you what the song is about in the lyrics, you just have to think deep...
A mosh pit went rogue and killed my family. . .now im on a journey of revenge filled with explosions, gunfights, and car chases. Coming this fall MOSH PIT starring me
@borg26222 thats what i was thinkin.... but im pretty sure it is supposed to symbolize the democratic and republican party, and how they always have disputes and how they all live different
@almost104 i doubt it was his actaul drumset, and yes i am also a drummer and i know how expensive they can be. but let's not forget what you can do when you have as much money as this band does.
@TheTGStudio im pretty sure the video is made to represent homeless people. based more off of the song title then the lyrics. i think it shows that we look at a homeless person in the same way we would look at an animal, just ignoring them or even laughing thinking that we are superior. thats just what i think because the people in animal suits seem to be acting like the typical homeless population in a city.
@camilacachito2929 Yeah, definitely, but I think Rise Against was playing off the fact that we have rising poverty in the US and polar bears are increasingly becoming an endangered species. Therefore the elephant, which is the symbol for the Republican Party, which tends to block more environmentally friendly legislation, is being mean to the polar bear. Overall it doesnt really have anything to do with a savior or anything, but they took the overall message of the song and showed it in this way
he has the MOST EPIC EYES EVER, I dont see why people tease him about his eyes in his childhood, thats EPIC!
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

i'M spanish and I love risa against is just that i didn't understand much of what the video was about, and it's relation with a savior or something

5 bucks the most fun part of making the video was smashing all that stuff.
This is true poetry xD

They are beautiful human beings.
RA in math:

@matthew94pokefan Oh my god I thought you were talking about Rise Against. For a second I was about to tear you apart.
furries have always had a meaning, it is to be accepting of your fellow being, and stand up for what you feel inside. it's to never back down when the going get's rough, it's to know if you ever need a helping hand, reach out and someone will catch you. it's more of family than fandom. we speak for those that can't speak, we stand tall where others shy away. so i'm proud to be a furry, and I hope that smiles always find a way into your heart.
This deserves likes and recognition

...The music is so amazing!...what happened when they tried to make the video though...
@patriots43v3r you just didn't pay attention to lyrics did you?
We need to go deeper!
@Fubnuggets i think almost all of their songs can be interpreted as relationship songs, but also have other interpretations...
i never thought savior was like political or people based... i always thought it was for like Peta or something like that o.O great to know! it all makes sense now =D love it!

it has a moral. it says "animals, dont do drugs!"
Who knew furries could be meaningful.. But after all it is Rise Against's video, everything they do is meaningful. ;P
0:55 that is the same bridge from "Bon Jovi - It's my life" music video

In the music video they hold hands at the end, the polar bear doesn't put his arm around the elephant.
2:57 what does he exactly say? I just don't really understand :/
@lolkthxbyez how does a RiseAgainst video remind you of justin beiber
xD DUDE YOUR SOOOO RIGHT!!!!!
FUK that drum went flying at the end!
@ryanwelsh2132, I know what you mean, maybe Rise Against wouldn't be the best subject to base political song writing around but they still are a brilliant band, and the video was just wierd.
