Guy I’m here in Cali San Diego USA. A lot of Vietnamese people are here. I worked in phở kitchen and then a Vietnamese manufacturing group(most hardest working and nicest people I ever met in my life).They inspired with beautiful stories of Vietnam. I’m taking my first Vietnamese course in college and have my tutor in Saigon teaching me. One day I’m going to visit and probably never leave. I’m gonna make them proud and hopefully cross paths with ya. Cảm ơn!!!

I’m 21 living in SoCal, right next to Garden Grove and Westminster. When I was around 12, I became interested in learning, tried and didn’t go well. I gave up and forgot. About 5 years ago I became more and more interested since I grow orchids (possibly as a career) , love the food, and the women admittedly. So I I learned a little counting and more about the culture that is pretty much anywhere I go.
I’ve gone full commitment this September and have learned so much, I take an in person class and have lots of practices with friends/restaurants I know. Always was mad at myself for never putting effort into it. I’ve been realistic in my expectations.
I love watching your videos not only cause you’re hilarious, but it’s really freaking helpful to hear another người da trắng nói tiếng việt 😜😳

I have not learned English for 3 years. I have came back to learn English recently. Watching foreign UA-camrs is one of the ways I relax and improve my English. When I saw your videos, it was not much, but at least I learned several new vocabulary. Thank you for that.

By the way, as an English teacher who knows Vietnamese, do you have any advice for English learners?
P/S: If the sentences above are wrong, please correct me, thank you guys!!
The best way to learn a foreign language is NOT to translate word for word. Most languages have idioms, which are words which cannot be translated literally. I give you an example: the Vietnamese description: đầu trâu mặt ngựa, which means hooligan/gangster, would not mean the same if it was translated word for word.

@@vantung2210 Another advice: try and be concise, do not write long sentences which can be shortened but still keep the meaning. When I was a university student studying languages, we had to reduce a full page of an article to just half without losing the important points of the story.
