    Finally! A Nissan Silvia that HASN'T been drifted! A rare bird, indeed. No, I'm sure no-one would be crazy enough to drift a certified classic car of which only 550 were made.

    When I was stationed in Japan in the late 60’s I saw one of the first gen Silvia coupes. They were beautiful!

      Nice. And it's actually amazing the number that can still be seen at events and garages given the small number of these that were produced.

    It's a lovely looking car, imagine if they had gone into full production, they would have sold like hot cakes.

    One last thing, it was precisely that colour with bone seats. A very tight car body wise with a smooth comfortable ride.

    Very very nice Silvia!
    I see Jensen got named already... First thing that came into my mind when you spoke about handbuilt cars is the Volvo P1800 (aka the Saint's car) which was handbuilt by Jensen. The Silvia CSP311 could be seen as the Japanese P1800. The Silvia and P1800 may only be apart 3 years but IMO the Silvia's styling is more than 10 years ahead of the P1800. ;)

    • @wasabicars

      I'm not overly familiar with the Jensen built cars but I think you are spot on with the styling comment.

      WasabiCars I agree. Was it ever sold in Australia? Have you ever seen any while living in Australia? For some reason, it has never sold here in the United States. :)

    • @wasabicars
      @wasabicars  10 років тому

      Jason Carpp
      Yeah, I was reading that a batch of 40-50 got sent to Australia. I never saw one when I was there though.

    • @jasoncarpp7742
      @jasoncarpp7742 10 років тому

      That must make them extra rare. If any were sold here in the USA, it was such limited numbers, that those that were sold weren't driven very often, so people didn't see them very often.

    • @Zedd260

      Super_Slav Whilst they have very similar looks, both were actually first displayed in 1963. Silvia in production in 1964, Fulvia in 1965. No way it was a 'copy' - even the Japanese could not copy THAT quick!! haha. It's the same as the mis-truth that the Fairlady roadsters were a 'copy' of the MGB, when both were shown in 1962.

    • @palomino73

    This car is very similar to the Lancia "Fulvia" a well known rally car in the 60's, and probably the most elegant small car of its day LANCIA FULVIA COUPE' 1,3 S III SERIE 1974, I love both myself.

    • @vaffangool9196
      @vaffangool9196 2 роки тому

      *The original Silvia coupe* (CSP311) was designed by Albrecht von Goertz and was hand-made from 1965-1968. The Lancia Fulvia coupe was designed by Piero Castagnero and while it entered production at the same time, from 1965-1967, the aesthetic similarity is all the more remarkable when one considers that the Silvia is driven by the rear wheels, while the Fulvia is front wheel drive, with its engine hanging ahead of the transaxle. While it was Castagnero's high-water mark, Goertz is lavishly celebrated for having also styled the Toyota 2000GT and the BMW 507.

    No wonder even the S13 still selling for solid prices used in my country.I couldn't stomach the prices so the best I could do for a banger car was the A31 Cefiro I got in my garage at the moment. ;-)

      WasabiCars no, it wasn't the last day of school or the graduation neither, my previous school had a lot of ceremonies and they have something like giving the school flag and other things to the previous grade and sing the school hymn. but it was sort of like the last day ceremony but not on the last day, because that will be on Wednesday, in my current school too, oh, and thank you very much, have a great day (good evening actually) ^_^
