@delvinsalaam #facts I'm from Daytona and was around when Intro was brought down to BCC. During those times, most candences were derivatives of something from another section. No shade to BCC, one of the best percussion sections right now.
let's introduce ourselves, let introduce ourselves They call us Sudden Impact We have a deadly attack Everywhere we go People want to know Whose that funky section That has so much success Let's introduce ourselves, let's introduce ourselves We are a drummers dream We make the ladies scream WOOO
Same person....Except I told U that someone took the cadence from a Miami area high school and implemented it into BCU's repertoire. Please check with someone who was a part of the section when it was done.....
Yo! Fall 1995 through fall 1998 here. On this video, it is actually played in segments (in a historical cadence naming context): “Move Slow” (first part), then to “Introduce Ourselves”, just without the prelude to this sequence in its original intent. That original sequence was the prelude to “Move Slow”, then to “Introduce Ourselves”, then back to “Move Slow”, and cut off to the downbeat. This sequence was done in the battle sense. In later-later years, the name just morphed into simply “Move Slow”, with “Introduce Ourselves” added to it. In my day, when “Move Slow” is played as a marching cadence, there was a sticking breakdown. And yes, these cadences originated at Morris Brown, which was brought to the section in 1985 by one of our section founders.
The origin of this cadence is from Morris Brown. It's called "Introducing".
Correct. The original title to this, is called "Intro", these new kids, crossing over are changing the names of old school cadences.
