- While it’s probably the most hated weapon in BF4, it can be pretty effective against the most hated vehicle on Shanghai, the attack helicopter :).
Because a lot of you asked, this is the UCAV. It’s a gadget of the support class. If you unlock the UCAV, make sure to unlock airburst too.
This was recorded after the nerf.

@@thewaffleiron9010 tbh AA’s gets way too much hate for what they bring into BF4. Without mobile AA’s in the game, any map that has attack jets, choppers or mini birds would be unplayable. I mean AA’s already don’t stand a chance against a good attack jet, imagine playing those maps without AA’s.
Shanghai is a prime example of this. Put a good pilot and gunner into one of the choppers, and the map becomes unplayable until the other team gets a pilot with equal or better skills.
@@hwarang97 I get spawn killed by it as soon as I get in a vehicle, wdym. Also, as much as I hate heli pilots at least it takes skill, unlike the AA which you can camp with at spawn. It also spawn kills jets which take skill and aren't that op.
@@hwarang97 rouge transmission is the best map for AA bcs there's actually an incentive to ptfo to get it, and you can't spawn camp with it

It takes quite a while until you can deploy it. Also recharges very slowly.
it does 20dmg to tanks, take 60 seconds after spawning to deploy, and is a giant yellow light in the sky everyone can see coming from a mile away, although it feels cheap it actually takes a decent amount of skill to use

I’ve got 3600 kills with this thing, multiply that with the respawn time lmao
3600 x 0.40 (respawn time) =1440 minutes
1440/60 = 24 hours
Assuming you miss around 50% of the time would bring you closer to 48 hours with it in your hand

Using it for destroying the attack helicopters is a good cause and God will put you in heaven.

Plus if you have a group of brave, sweaty men running around in an organized fashion with UCAVs, you can call it a legit strategy.

I use the UCAV religiously, and so does every other person ive come across using it. Its addictive when you get good with it.

@Tyler Trobaugh agree but the AEK is overused AF. I don't mind getting owned by a good player but at least by a different gun. Imagine buying BF4 just to use aek LMAO

When the UCAV first came out.
It was like a Tomahawk Missile that would regenerate every 30-45 seconds.
The timer would start as soon as you’d fire LOL.
People could just shoot from the safety of spawn and drop 60-100+ games.
That thing was NUTTY.
I don’t understand why the UCAV is hated so much. They’re not hard to notice because of the bright ass yellow light on them, plus they’re load as fuck You can hear them coming from decently far away. You can just shoot them out of the air too

You know as long as this and mortars aren't being spammed in Rush I'm fine with them. Just making it so they can't be refilled by ammo boxes is honestly the best nerf they could've done to them.
The only thing that holds me back from doing this is, that I am freaking terrible with jets

Same. Been plating since launch and forgot the UCAV was even a thing. You can go dozens of matches without being killed by one.
Yeah it really isn't worth it to do the ridiculous challenges that it requires to get it. I remember playing the jet only mode for hours trying to finish the challenge.

It's so hard to get even a default UCAV. I played like 5 rounds of air superiority and I killed like 3 people in total.
I recently grinded for it. It wasn’t too bad. Try padding your kills by stealing kills. TBH the UCAV kind of sucks without airburst. You have to hit soldiers dead on with it and it hardly does any damage to vehicles other than jeeps and choppers. And hitting fast moving targets with this thing is difficult. Airburst is necessary.
@@MasterMayhem78 oh so that's why I only make 70 damage 😮 I'm always like, why they kill me with the UCAV and I can't kill them with one shot if we have the same vehicle, I just realized is because the airburst warhead 😮

On a PS4 server that runs Siege of Shanghai 24/7, the two badmins sit in a chopper the entire game. I've killed them so many times with the UCAV that it brings a feeling of utter bliss... and a ban...
It's really inconsistent sometimes, but when it hits, just bliss...
Is it the Shanghai all Day one? God I hate those attack choppers, hail the IGLA, even if it gets me kicked

This gadget is a strong influence as to why I, for one, would probably say that the Support class is the second-greatest class of infantry, overall, in the game (followed by the Engineer-class; and that is my personal opinion, at least).
Using it in an anti-helicopter role is genius!

They nerfed it pretty hard, you have to get nearly a direct hit to get a kill, let alone a multikill. The airburst seems pretty buggy too, I found that it tends to have some lag. Are you using airburst for this?
I have 17 Service stars and airburst unlocked. It's so satisfying.
So filthy, yet so pure at the same time. The UCAV was the bane of any aerial existence or heavy numbers on a map. I still remember the first time I got killed by the airburst ucav on rush and our entire force got blown to smithereens without a clue of how or where from 😂

Ive got 700 hours in bf4 and i can actually count the times ive been ucav'd on one hand. And i never see it on the banned weapons list on servers
I've seen it a couple of Times banned (on PC/PS4)

@@clayopold2131 still pretty often, they are mostly banned all together so if launcher are banned ucav is banned too

There's something about piloting a mini Al-Qaeda drone that speaks to me on a personal level...especially when you air-burst it at a prick in an attack heli.

Lucky y’all can actually play it. My screen flickering is so unbearable I cant even play
I see nothing wrong here it is fair and balanced. It has a 45 second cooldown pretty of time for players to not group up.
Not to mention that it is as bright as a shooting star when it’s flying

How tf do you steer it that good? Is this with mouse or on keyboard or is it just practise?
The ucav steers best when steering up and down. It also barrel rolls good. You have to combine those two to make left and right turns. Also, make sure it has enough speed (don’t fly up for too long). Mouse and keyboard btw.

Dont mind one in 2042 that is an emp that can destroy vehicles and gadets, but not deal dmg to infantry.
