      Nice! It can be done an RV but it may have some differences in front steering and axle sizes. A mild drop in the front is always cool, unless you really want to take on a whole custom job! For extreme lowering, frame notching and tubbed front wheel wells will be needed!

    Just got a 95 G10 125 wheelbase. Knew how to drop front but not rear and there was ur video! Woo hoo! How many inches did she drop and my 245 60 15 should work well on my 15x8 Rockets

    • @boomboomtisk
      @boomboomtisk  2 роки тому +1

      The front on mine is dropped around 6 inches and the rear is around 8 inches. With those 15x8’s, it will depend on the offset but usually it’s not too much of a problem with a mild drop

    • @brucecarter6196
      @brucecarter6196 2 роки тому +1

      Busy B, you can drop the rear for free, no parts needed, no c notch needed. Look under your van at the front leaf spring mounts notice how much room is above where they leave spring is bolted into the mount drill holes higher up in that mount and then both the leaf spring up there, it depends on the van that this gives three to four inch drop for very minimal work, and The Exodus still under the leaf springs so there will be no bottoming out. You can fit a 15 x 8 with 4.5 in backspace which is like the 15x8 truck rally with 275 60 15 and it will bring the van down to the tire.

    Hey so what's the deal with the bracket you installed on the leaf springs? Is it to extend the life of them? Mine are pretty worn out I'm looking for a good video that shows how to swap them out lol. I just got done doing a complete restoration on the steering and all four brakes and I'm about to do the u-joints and the shock absorbers front and back.

    • @boomboomtisk
      @boomboomtisk  3 роки тому

      The bracket on the leaf spring is part of the axle flip kit to lower the van. If you’re just trying to refresh the rear, I’d suggest replacing the front leaf spring bushing and shackles for sure

    • @boomboomtisk

      @@boomboomtisk I'm definitely going to replace all four shock absorbers and the rear shackles and bushings on the leaf springs. Did you have any problems removing the shackles? Do you remember what size sockets you used?

    • @boomboomtisk
      @boomboomtisk  3 роки тому

      @@joeydrumstix I had some difficulty getting to the bolts on the shackles because my tow hitch was in the way, in one of the G20 van videos you can see how that job went. I can’t remember the exact size of the sockets I used but I think it was something around 19mm or 3/4”. Should be something you’d find in most socket sets.

    • @boomboomtisk
      @boomboomtisk  3 роки тому +1

      There isn't anything specifically for the van, you'll have to look up C10 applications to find lowering parts. I believe 73-87 years of the C10 have parts have cross over to the g20 van. In the description, I added a parts list of what I used for my set up.

      Square body C-10 front dropped spindles and springs just order based on your rotor thickness, either 1 inch thick or 1.25 inch thick.
      In the rear, Its a FREE drop, no flip kit or c notch needed, just drill new holes higher up in the front leaf spring mounts and bolt the spring in the new top holes you drilled. You can also remove a single leaf spring for a little more drop. I did this on a 77 and getting ready to do it on a 79, there's a video on here of a guy with another blue G20 that shows him doing it.
      I know it's been awhile since your post but maybe this will help you. Saved me a bunch of money when someone taught me this.

    • @boomboomtisk
      @boomboomtisk  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, it has KYB’s up front. If you’re using lowering springs, I would recommend looking into shorter shock options or something with more suitable dampening for higher spring rates

      @@boomboomtisk at this time I had not planned on using lowering springs I'm upgrading all of the bushings and tie rods and whatnot to moog problem solver and definitely planning on air shocks in the rear. @@JohnSmith-qj4cf if you’re trying to convert to 5 lug, do a comparison on the part numbers for all the parts. Rockauto is a good website to use because you can do side by side comparison for both g20 and g30 applications. There might be other differences too, like steering parts, tie rods, idler arms, etc. Not sure if the subframes are the same either. Again, best thing to do is compare part numbers for all the parts steering/front end suspension related for both vans.
