There’s few that can connect to these kids and get them as comfortable as you. A long long road ahead of you brother.
Great interview.
Not gonna lie, I love his swagger and moxie. "Do you plan on redshirting your freshman year?" "Nah man, not really, I think of that as a losing mentality." Only way to reach your goals and dreams is to have a standard and push it. I like it. Gonna be a deep QB room in Norman in '22. Now I wanna see how he handles the "if" he has to redshirt. He can take some pointers from our last 3 QB1s.
Absolutely! I love this guy's character.... his arm Talent is ridiculous on all of his highlights. This kid is a badass on the field and it's great to see he has good character off the field as well
Not no more like it’s only Spencer and now Caleb in 2021 I’m sure they will add a walk on or something For extra security but yea craxy how that changed after 2 QB transferred
He sounds like a very mature kid. Congrats to you RJ and Oklahoma!
OH- Go Buckeyes!
Hey RJ, maybe I missed it, but would’ve been great to find out who he is recruiting to come to Oklahoma with him. Thanks for your great work. Always enjoy your interviews and podcasts.
I’m about 90% sure he played a big part in bringing on Jalil Farooq a 4-5 star recruit from pg county Maryland
ik I’m a year late lol
Spencer will still be the starter then, and Mardocai will probably hit the transfer portal. young man your turn will come so be patient and lets give Texas hell for the next 7 years. BOOMER SOONER. Herman is probably already trying to figure out "What the hell am I'm going to do with Lincoln and those damn Heismen QB'S"? LOL
And then y’all get blown out in the cfb playoffs 😂😂
@@treydeezy2011
Yep! But we get blown out after winning consecutive Big12 Championships.
Grinch is building the defense OU will need to get over that hump.
Say what you like my friend.
@@treydeezy2011 You can keep saying that because its true. However, new DC, better recruiting on that side of the ball. The offense wont fall off, but the defense is on the rise. If OU manages even a top 15 defense they will be scary. Give Baker OUs 2019 D for the rose bowl and CFP and they would have won it all.
@@treydeezy2011 defense is coming homie you already know what time it is offensive side of the ball no pund intended the greatest show on earth..
I don’t think so I think spencer rattler is the new Shea Patterson 5 star bust. I expect this guy to overtake him once he learns the playbook. He certainly is confident in his ability to overtake him otherwise he would have gone somewhere else.
lets start the 47 with Spencer and end it with Caleb?
In!
Rattler vs Williams epic
Don't sleep on the Morris kid. He is not a 5 stars but he can ball, plus he's a coach's son. The last OU's QB was a coach's son and....well you know the story.
Iron sharpens Iron! IF YOU ARE A TOP RATED QUARTERBACK, THEN YOU COMMIT TO OU BECAUSE IT IS THE TOP OFFENSIVE UNIVERSITY HANDS DOWN!! BOOMER SOONER
Its going to be one helluva battle at QBU rattler Williams and tanner not to mention the wildcard Morris aka baker mayfield jr we loaded
Welcome aboard my future Sooner QB.💥🏈🏈👍💥..
Btw RJ, you mentioned playing with Madden to Caleb? Well they need to bring back NCAA Football '21, so I can create myself and play with my Sooners.
Nice interview RJ, keep it up!!
Great interview RJ. Class act as always. Excited for this young man!!
I love the interview.
Looking forward to this kid coming to Norman but if he thinks Spencer's gonna roll over and give up his spot that's crazy! Spencer earned his spot. He has an elite arm and is super competitive. Williams will be a great QB - in time. I like his confidence but it's coming off as a little arrogant. Maybe a little humility would help him mature more. If Spencer has a great year he may leave for the NFL early after his sophomore or junior year. That would open it up for Williams to learn and be a sponge and prepare properly to lead the Sooners for 2 or 3 years that will propel him to the NFL. No hurry man enjoy the college experience!...and hey dude - next year you get paid to play. Boomer Sooner!
C DUB welcome to QB U!
Mahommes, assuming he can stay healthy, will push the $1 billion mark for playing football (contracts plus endorsements). Crazy, but good for him!
Outstanding!
If Oklahoma was start they would start rattler and have Caleb sit behind him for a year. The last thing you want is to lose him to the portal especially if he gets injured
Need that mentality, competition makes you great
What if this kid pulled off a late season Heisman run, I mean he is in position to get a lot of spotlight.
Dammit my guy! I thought you might nail him down on who he is recruiting my G! We on pins n needles in da basement. Rjeezy let me know whats up!!!
Great Interview that Qb battle will be insane in 2021
Can you say swag!!!!😎
Not trying to hate so don't Oklahoma fans. But, if you guys can get that defense together for the rest of the leagues. I'm not talking about the B12 then you guys already have had more opportunities than my Buckeyes to be on top when it's all said and done. I love and believe in Baker even if I didn't like his victory and antics versus THE OSU Buckeyes. Coaching and familiarity goes a long way in a sport where all 22+ starters (special teams mean a lot) can decide a game. Anyway I hope y'all get that defense together. O-H!
Boomer!
Great job landing this interview, RJ! Insightful. Boomer!
Aaron Rodgers is the dude that got me into football, like I use to just catch a game or two once a year. I wish I could find the game I was watching that day, sadly I don't remember the year or who they was playing but I just remember there being seconds on the clock and green bay was down, they needed to get some points on the board and time was against them. They needed about 55 yards to go down and score and win. Aaron Rodgers proceeded to play one of the best most clean and surgical drive I have ever seen. Every pass he threw went towards a sideline and stopped the clock, everyone catching the ball was clean, excellent footwork. And I just remember this drive. I don't remember if he scored a TD or went down and they kicked a field goal, I really dont even remember if they won the game, I'm pretty sure they did because what I saw as so impressive that it got me into football all the way. I finally realized what I was missing out on I decided to watch OU football more and what a time to get into it, it was Baker Mayfield's first season on my second season of really getting into OU football. But yeah I've been a Green Bay Fan and OU fan ever since then. That's when I claim my faith although my whole life my family has been OU fans and Dallas fans, I did get to watch OU win the national title but sadly I was a young kid back then that didnt watch football and didn't really understand what had just been done and respect it. I would do anything for a time machine now to go back and get experience that game on TV with Dad and brother and grandpa. I was probably running around the house playing with toys back then only catching glimpses haha. In the back of my mind I was like well yeah OU won they never loose, I thought they just never lost back then haha
Boomer sooner
Nothing against Spencer but I won't be surprised if Caleb beat him out. He's bigger, stronger, and faster. If he learns the playbook, he may be QB 1. Again...nothing against Spencer. It's about competing for the job.
I don't disagree but I do think Spencer has the more pure arm.
It's crazy to think of two 5 star QB's battling for a starting job but that's where we are and I love it. That said, as excited as I am for Caleb, Rattler is going to be the starter for the next two years. There are only minor differences in their games with Caleb being bigger while Spencer has the stronger arm (and neither of those two traits are much of a difference between the two). Rattler has a full year under his belt in the system, plus he's actually played in games (with the exception of LSU, he didn't play meaningful snaps but even those few were experience). Whatever happens, we're in GREAT shape at the position for the foreseeable future.
Caleb is much more athletic, but Spencer has a huge arm paired with elite accuracy. His passing is better than Caleb as it is, but i trust Riley to fix Calebs accuracy issues after a year in the system. I believe Jalen would have developed into a better passer if he had more than just his grad year with LR
You don’t want to lose him to the transfer portal. This reminds me of a Jalen hurts tua situation.
Play 4 games during his Frosh Season and be patient
Great interview . RS isn’t so bad with new rules . Almost 1/2 a season .
Nice grab on the interview, RJ!
Awesome can't wait!!!
Great interview!
Sounds like he is more focused on himself and his image than about the team as a whole.
Someone is going to transfer
nah brah... hes commiting next year which he will redshirt then he could play the next year since rattler probably gonna be so good he declares sophmore year and if he doesnt, its only one year
Lol, nobody is going to transfer. That makes no sense. Rattler set for 1 year behind Hurts. Now he will get 2 years to play before declaring for the draft. Williams can sit behind Rattler for 1 year. And then get 2 years to play before declaring for the NFL draft. You get the best QB coach in the Nation. 2 full seasons to establish yourself as a draft pick, and if you need another one you can stay for your senior year and have 3 full.
Nah man all u need is one yr at ou to get drafted high
Tanner will. Rattler and Caleb will compete for 2022.
