Preparing for a Tangle with a Full Novice Team (Part 3)

- It doesn't always go to plan! People often ask us to show videos of things not going perfectly, as most of our videos show the finished result rather than the progress - but quite often we simply aren't filming at the time!
Here's a couple of 'oops' moments caught on camera and how we deal with with them. Fortunately, you can watch in real-time as we prepare our team for a mishap shortly before one happens!

I absolutely love when you show us complications/situations ... and HOW you get out of them. This is where I personally learn so much from you.
Wonderful to watch and learn. If they were a pop group, they be called The Shambollicks … the two at the back must be thinking, ‘what the fuff de fuffs Barry doing, putting those two air heads in front?, no clue? Very entertaining. Everybody earned their coffee n carrots today, jolly well done, and wish you always, safe home.
Bravo Barry 👏👏 Practice and prepare for the worst situations before they happen 👍
I love that you teach these horses with so much care and love rather than fear. You are a kind man to them Barry and that's what they need not metal bits and whips as you say. I love watching your videos thank you for sharing them.
Thank you for sharing this morning with us. When the space cadet (black leader) got them both in a mess I appreciated seeing your clear directions and the wheelers just stood calm. This is a testament to your adage “safe, calm and happy”
❤ WOWWWW what an Art, and that left back Blackie 👏 sooo smart
Great to see how you handled that, they'll get it soon enough! Lovely ponies.
Great viewing - thank you for sharing the whole experience.
Had a tangle like that with a team of 4 pulling a stagecoach with customers on board - at night. My "partner" that night was a jerk who hated that I - a woman - was driving a stagecoach and wanted to prove i couldn't handle it. He hid in the brush as we were returning to the stage depot and jumped out to scare the team. The leaders jumped off trail to the right but I promptly stopped them. I straightened them out and continued on to park. Luckily park security saw what happened and "partner" was fired on the spot.
It's a pleasure to watch you at work, along with the gang in harness.
You are the master! Such talent! I want to send my Percheron to you :-)
They have a kind knowledge and fun driver -they just trust implicitly he will keep them safe -however weird it is for them
I salute you ❤
I could never understand why the competitors in the big driving competitions didn't prepare their teams or pairs for a trace getting under a leg and end up with the horse going skitzo and wrecking things. I always introduce the trace between the legs before I hook and again during drag training so they think nothing of it.
Life is much simpler for me, I only drive one at a time! 😅
Thank you for sharing your nice morning out!❤
What a Courage Ride!
Wow you have some skill. Most of us wouldn't believe that was even possible.
Although we all know that getting horses to stand quietly is the hardest! But not so impressive to watch
Looks like lead horses need to be in back row they wandering and fighting, back two calm Kool obeys
Just incredible!
I can tell you are having a lot of fun creating a new team :-)
Timeless values
I want to see
and live it
infront of my house,
as both of my grandparents did,
and my parents grow up with.
Is there anything you can't do, Barry?
Oh mein gott,ist das gefährlich😱
Not to believe they are all novices!
That is dangerous with them two horses in the front. They’re not really attached to the wagon. They’re more likely they’re running loose.
They got traces attached just not rigid .
That is just how you do things, lol. You ever worked with drafts????
