I was on this boat and got to meet her! She's a very nice person, in case all of her subscribers would like to know :)
It was nice to meet you! Hope you are having a safe trip back!
@@agirlandherpassport We made it home! I made a quick video of Paros from the drone I was hauling in my backpack! ua-cam.com/video/7BmBmjEZj94/v-deo.htmlsi=ZOHh_D5HLEAKKPxD
That happened to me once at the airport in Rome in August. I had a several hour evening layover before boarding for the US. I froze in the Rome airport, stayed outside as much as I could just to stay warm. i was wearing a sundress and sandals with my purse. I never forgot that trip.
I haven’t had it happen in a while. I always wear pants on the long ferries since I know it can happen but I was unprepared for how cold this was. Spent some €€€ on a scarf for the way back.
Looks like a lovely island.
It is! I loved it.
we did the overnight ferry last year to Lesvos because of a canceled flight, I highly recomend the cabin and go to sleep and boom, wake up in Lesvos.
Yes, for the truly overnight ones, I would have to do a cabin. Sleeping on the chairs is only for naps.
How did you like Lesvos. Friends of mine have a place there on the island and they tell me to visit.
@@muddywaters538 it was spectacular, we were there last May and it was chilly but fantastic
We did the slow Ferry from Koufonisia to Pireaus last year and got a cabin! It was great for 8 hours. Plus you get to go into business class if you have a cabin. The cabin has a bathroom with a shower, desk, closet etc. You can bring your luggage right to the cabin. Thanks for this video! I had no idea what a good way to get to Donousa was and I am dying to visit. Look forward to your video next week!
I didn’t know it meant you could go to Business. That’s good to know. I don’t bring my luggage up with me. I have no desire to carry it down. Haha.
@@agirlandherpassport oh totally! We didn’t bring ours up either. Just getting it to the ferry and up the ramp was enough! 🤣 But, it was nice and quiet and we were able to sleep. 😴
I want to get a cabin one day just for the experience.
@@agirlandherpassport Yes, definitely. It was really nice, and worth it. Make a video when you do.
@@KathrynJBrooks If I do, I will definitely make a video.
😂 We were on that boat a few times in last month. We took it from Syros to Amorgos and then from Paros back to Piraeus. Hope you have a great time. We just got home Friday, had another wonderful visit.
Glad you had a good time!
Thank you for this! I didn’t knew that there was a direct ferry from pireaus to dounousa! You just gave me a great idea for next year. Indeed the arrival hour is not great but with transfer from the host I think it is OK
It doesn’t go every day but a few times a week! The one on Wednesday gets in around 1 AM.
@@agirlandherpassport In summer it is an early morning departure that gets to Donousa mid-afternoon. 4 days per week.
That is good to know! I will definitely be going back!
Hi Tiffany, Donousa is my favourite island. Looking forward to the next video. Looks as though you are staying in Iliovasilema Studios or somewhere that is overlooking their rooms.
So many people have said that about Donoussa! I loved it. Yes, I did stay there. Great location with the amazing view.
I’m back in ❤ Athens 🧿 on the 7th! I can’t wait! 🇬🇷
Yay! Have fun!
@@agirlandherpassport ❤️ 🧿
Your content is always interesting. Thanks!
Thank you!
Great video! Thanks!
Thank you!!
I enjoyed the ferry as well. Just getting there is also fun.
It is exciting. The ferry is part of the Greek experience.
Though only Aigina, the cold temperature in there is no joke! I always loved the ferries there.
Some ferries are better than others with the temperatures.
@@agirlandherpassport There's nothing like the good old deck... finding a protected spot on some half-empty, off-season route, and laying on your sleeping bag until you reach port. Breathing the Aegean.
@@geogeo2299 I wish my allergies and back would allow me to do that.
🥶 Thanks for the heads up, I'll bring a jacket.
And close toed shoes. My feet were freezing.
👍👍
Was having a chat the other day with a friend who was on a greek ferry the other day. He said the same; that it was freaking cold😂
It was way colder than it needed to be since it’s not hot out anymore.
Have you ever gone to Anaphe, Tiffany? It's the longest among those boat rides, but also one of the best destinations in Greece.
I have not, but I definitely want to go. I might fly to Santorini first and then take the ferry. I haven't decided.
@@agirlandherpassport Your doubts are justified and I can tell you this: the place is not yet fully 'tamed' like your usual Greek island is. Which means it's partly 'untamed'.
It is more the logistics of getting to Anafi than its tameness. I like the less discovered "wild" islands.
Greek ferries are awesome, definitely part of the Greek summer island experience. There is so much more to them than complaining about aircon and how packed they are…endless sea view, amazing sunsets, starty nights, quite corners, friendly travellers, island vistas, quite passing of time, slowing down ahead of holidays. Used to travel a lot from PRS to Samos (often 12 hours at sea) and loved it. Sorry but your video does not make justice to the experience.
Wonderful! I'd probably pay for the cabin unless it was WAY more. Of course, the arrival time is such that sleeping in the cabin could throw off your sleep schedule. I cannot wait for your Donousa video.
If you want a private cabin, they are over €100. That is why I did business. Less pricey than a cabin and usually less crowded. Not always though. The ferry back was full!!
This price is not shocking, I guess, at this point. I got a cabin on Blue Star once going to Santorini but had my wife and kid with me. So it was not bad on a per person basis. I still mostly hung out by the bar and TV, but they took naps.
But I can see why you skipped it.
@@georgeklimes
@@georgeklimesIf it had been all overnight, I definitely would have booked a cabin and slept!
Both Blue Star Paros and Blue Star Naxos are getting a little old now. Whilst the inside is presentable I don't know good the mechanics are and how many more years they will last. "Slow" ferries will still be needed for HGV's and to contend with poor weather which affects the fast boats so let us hope Blue Star have got replacements in mind. Thanks for the video.
I hope they have plans to replace the Paros at least. It is also so small. Today I returned on it and it was packed.
@@agirlandherpassport Have you been on Blue Star 1. It is even worse- no escalators inside- takes ages to disembark.
@nickgiles7568 I don’t think so. It’s pretty big, right?
🙏 You know my preference 😂
Of course! I gave you a glimpse. Lol
@@agirlandherpassport efcharisto poli, as they say... 😂
@shaulkirsch1263 I promise Athens content soon!
@@agirlandherpassport would very much appreciate it, haven't been there since February ( 2weeks)...
@shaulkirsch1263 Have you planned your next trip?
Great video! Thank you for showing us one of the longer Ferry Routes. Because of the background noise (and my audio!) I was having trouble understanding the names of the islands you stopped over at on the way there. Would you be able to list them in order with your destination island name also so I can view them on the map? Thanks again for sharing your journey there. Looking forward to seeing the video about your destination island!
Thanks! Of course. It was Syros, Paros and Naxos before Donoussa.
Great video as always Tiffany BUT....im sorry i have to say that, its a big minus (-) for this channel, that you still havent visited Krete ...
Thank you. I will one day. I do like the smaller islands and I also feel that Crete needs a long time so see properly.
There is no money for islands anymore... we stay athens and beaches around @! We are very poor...😢😢
The prices have gone up so much, I am not surprised.
@@agirlandherpassport there is war everywhere !!! Crazy inflation double prices for rent... we don't believe what happening🤪🤪🤪
@@Falcon-m9w This year we stayed in Vouliagmeni. Then we went to Naxos. Vouliagmeni was very expensive compared to Naxos. There’s so much on the mainland to visit though that’s reasonable. My favorite is Parga. My dad is from Nafpaktos. Both beautiful places. Worth checking out if you haven’t.
