How handsome Gustav Frohlich is in this film, it is understood that Fritz Lang gave him the role of Freder in Metropolis for his ambiguous, almost androgynous beauty.

Sad. And Joseph Schmidt with whom he did a movie died in Switzerland in a Swiss camp.
The actor playing the jewelery dealer in the beginning died as well but at Sobibor.
