It looked easy because he was not making anything "new" (which has to do with inspiration and composition) but deconstructing an already existing track, therefore he went quick and straight to the things he knew had to. On the other hand, you gotta give some serious credit to the guy for really knowing how to use his gear there.
Hello friends, thank you from the heart to all of you at Point Blank Music School. I love all that work you post on youtube. I live in Brazil, a place where to conquer something has to work a lot. I love music since I was a kid. I'm dj and dvj comesei to work in this area in 1979 and studied music production for about five years. I really love what you do. I hope someday I'll have the opportunity to pay and study with you. Abs.
Thanks again for an amazing breakdown. This time, I actually followed along at home and reproduced it too! I had different plug-ins, and it took me hours. It's an eye opener. 1. How good Ski's critical listening skills are 2. How different understanding a piece is ("this hook is great") vs _creating_ a piece 3. How effortless Ski makes this hard stuff appear.
Vendo novamente este vídeo, pois gostei muito e dei umas boas gargalhadas pois até a coçada foi no ritmo da música no momento do synth JUP-8 (Arturia). Desejo muito sucesso a vocês!!!
Cause why go out of your way to show them at their low point when they are countless of other pictures that have high resolution that would do the same job?
TheAris621 snare sample is just a heavily compressed layered snare. Cymatics or other sample sources can hook you up with that if you don’t know how to make your own. It sounds familiar cuz it’s the type of snare in like 90% of electronic music these days and even spilling over into pop too
ski oakenfull is amazing on deconstructing others ..i would like to see if he can also make his own music though..with so much knowledge he could make something big..also that girl there ..and i cannot focus on music:D
Very good deconstruction!! What do you thing about the latest realize of Calvin "Nuh Ready" ? I'm kind of disappointed for the genere but, still a nice production...
I dunno why you're disappointed by the genre, Calvin Harris has stated he got bored of producing straight EDM, so he did his funk project, and now he wants to broaden his production horizons. The man is growing as a producer. Also if I'm honest with you, the track was mostly aimed towards his UK audience, which were the ones who supported him before he became that 'EDM' producer in the USA.
you forgot the snare that comes in right before the whole beat comes in at the start..! The snare really sweeps up the energy and makes the beat feel that bit more powerful and fresh
Nice girl sitting next to producer = instant comment tripler. Welcome to the interwebs I guess. For real though, as much as I like Calvin Harris' funky direction, am I the only one who's getting sick and tired of these over-produced auto-tune vocals? This stuff has been terrorizing pop music since Cher's 1998 single "Believe" for Christ sake! Will we ever get rid of this make-your-tune-instantly-sound-childish cancer?
A linndrum, an early drum machine made iconic by the likes of Prince. For a track where you can hear its sound super clearly try searching for Prince's unreleased 'Purple Music'

this guy is a breakdown genius. I would love to hear faithless - Insomnia
-Avicii Remix of Faithless would be even better
6 years without knowing this exists... Thank you.
This is seriously almost dead on, I’m thoroughly impressed
I've been struggling all day trying to make something new and he made this look so easy that I am equally inspired and discouraged. smh

its been over 3 years, have you had any success?

This is absolutely brilliant. Thanks!
great vid. The best bit of the song has to be IMO when the piano comes back in at 3:14
Ski is so good - thank you!
Because he has practice over time. He KNOWS his instruments well and knows how to work them to his advantage.

Which Kontakt piano library is used in this tutorial ?
Gentlemen
This is absolute class. Great insight. Cheers!
They removed the first one because they had a mugshot of Quavo and Offset at 1:19 in place of the picture they have now. Thank you for removing.
Cause i complained
Cause why go out of your way to show them at their low point when they are countless of other pictures that have high resolution that would do the same job?
Awesome...............
This guy is really good!
Can you deconstruct a track from Paul Hardcastle or M/A/R/R/S ?
this was amazing! Was wondering, how do you handle the latency issue? Is there a specific audio interface and specific spec of imac you need for it ?
Where is that beautiful bass sound from?
In my version it’s an Ableton factory sound ‘Bofner Bass’
Please release the acapella
Ski you are a genius
What midi keyboard is he using?

it's 909 drum samples

Why did you take down the first version ?

Not because of copyright (not copywrite) but because they used mugshot photos for pictures of Migos
Master

I agree with you bro, this is a great tune ruined by those crappy autotuned vocals.
This and vocal chops everywhere are driving me nuts.

Kontakt Factory Library -> Elektrik Guitar -> Position 14 (muted) + Ableton Amp (Blues) + Ableton Echo (Ping Pong)
Thank you very much! great deconstruction!
Ski,Hi)What rhodes do you use for this deconstruction?
Hiya! It's the Native Instruments Scarbee Vintage Keys Mark1 (Rhodes). My favourite :) www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/keys/scarbee-vintage-keys/

This was 'The Grandeur' from NI Kontakt, with some Live compression and reverb added
Sorry? A "lint drum"? what do you mean?
A linndrum, an early drum machine made iconic by the likes of Prince. For a track where you can hear its sound super clearly try searching for Prince's unreleased 'Purple Music'
🤌
The main takeaway from this video is this: She's hot af.
😉😉
аааааааааааааааааааааааааааааа
why does the chick look uninterested lol
It doesn't sound profesional, show us real techniques to sound market standard
The amount of explanation in this is cancerous.
