ITA announcement was by Norman Tozer. The London clock actually had the top half of the ident (i.e. the solid white part) as background with a sweep second hand. ATV Midlands used the lower 'stripey' part.
I forgot to add that I created the video using Virtualdub, Photoshop, Flash Video Studio and AviDemux and dubbed the sound from stock soundtracks. Hope you liked it.
ATV London. Remember it well. Sunday night, typically a religious programme called Tempo, followed by The Saint, and then Sunday Night At The London Palladium. What ever happened to the in vision announcer, Trevor Lucas? Chances are that he's passed away by now I suppose.

@@johnradley9997 So sorry to learn that Trevor Lucas took his own life. He seemed such a laid back amiable bloke when announcing in vision on ATV London as I recall. Did he go on to announce elsewhere following ATV London's demise? I didn't know about the Border announcer Pat Doody also ending his own life. Mind you, I don't think I've ever seen Border Tv. I do remember however Annie St. John who used to be a continuity announcer for HTV West committing suicide whilst in her 30's. Such a shame that people end up feeling like suicide is the only answer to their problems.
@@trevordance5181 Sorry it's taken so long to reply. Yes, Trevor worked at ATV Birmingham when I was there from 1971-1973. Of course for a long time he was announcing oov on BBC Television but I'm not sure of the exact dates..
If he didn't insist on speaking through a sock, you'd be able to tell that what he's actually saying is: "Good afternoon to you. This is a TV witch who rides horse-fat and hay, and fun may go lambs on Hannah's spine, lord rasping on a once-gone ram-spitter of a sin dependence. Tell a mission or Dorothy." 😂

I Love these start ups I watched them all the time when I was a youngster this one 1958 was the year I was born so it's special to me great stuff!

This is ATV which provides your Saturday and Sunday programmes on channel 9, broadcasting on the Wyndon transmitter of Cosmos Television.
