Thank you for being the first person on the internet to set a typical cost of repair for an older (11 yo) EV.
Your bill was similar to the cost of repairs of same age high-dollar European cars that make them really cheap when they get older.

Not exactly. It's a rotor seal you need to replace every 50K or it starts sipping coolant in the motor causing it to fail over time. Or do the U-update (rotor coolant delete) for a couple hundred and solve the issue.
EV Clinic have said their word: 18650 in the Tesla last ~400K miles if battery is sealed properly.
So spending a little on time for motor and battery proofing and you have 20 years of proper high end EV excitement.

You would never spend only 7k on similar BMW M5 which is weaker and has less power than Tesla in 12 years. You would spend 5 times more on the BMW and lose month in time while the BMW would be in the shop.

The air conditioning system actually works as part of the heat pump system, which contains cooling loops for both the battery system and the electric motors for temperature management. Maybe this interconnection leads to the vehicle detecting an air conditioner fault as opposed to a rear motor failure?

I am very particular when it comes to fit and finish, like panel gaps and ratals. Even if trim, do not line up. In my opinion, the cadillac has very good fit and finish. Everything you touch is solid. The quality was a little surprising granted gm has improved their quality dramadicly. It's like a cadillac should be. Nice, very quiet, and has a very, very good ride. I would say better than the couple of models s cars I drove. Both ride good, just the cadillac rides very smooth ( and the tesla has air suspension and lyriq doesn't). It also has active nosie cansalation in the cabin. Super quiet on the highway. Makes my lexus seem a little noisy. They are running VERY GOOD lease deals now. I got the tech base model, basically no options, just black paint. But at the tech it is a very nice interior. Quality does not change much in higher trims, just like wood and leather and features. Cadillac credits you $1500 for charging station money or to get a plug installed at your home. Soon, gm cars can use tesla superchargers with an attachment. Think of it this way. Cadillac says they are all electric by 2035, so they need this to work they have the other ev models coming out in a bit, so they are pushing for this. They are putting a lot of time into these, and so is chevrolet. The infotainment is amazing, too. All in all, I love it so far. I would recommend talking a look at one of yourself.Window sticker, which says 94 MPGe Highway 82 City combined 88. I don't drive a tone, and I haven't tested the range quiet yet, but at a little less than half a charge, I have 180 miles left.

Which is why idk if you are thinking your only taking a $3k loss off the repairs or the entire paid out amount?
Cuz with the $5k u paid now $7k paid out that’s $12k which is still a cheap car for what you’re getting!!
So if your selling it for $7k your really taking a $5k loss on overall payout

Dude. It’s not the original battery in the red Tesla. I know by now you’ve gotten rid of it, but it is a remanufactured battery, not original the car. It’s got “R1” after the serial number. That means it has been remanufactured once. If you look at the very top of the white battery identification tag, it probably says REMAN. Love all of your videos! I watch them from beginning to end, the ones with the Teslas

I had the tesla for about a month. It was a nightmare. Idk why, but it wouldn't stay charged. I called the place I rented from requested to come get it and go back to a real car.

Buying a Tesla is no different that buying a Mercedes-Benz, BMW or any other high end automobile. When they break down, get ready to shell out some cash. In this current economy high end cars are not practical. Even in your weekly walk around videos you've shown that the consumer can not afford their payments and the cars reposessed. Glad you got your model 3 fixed. Nice video Randy.

I don't hate EV's but I simply can't afford one. Drove a early model S back in 2014 and a volvo xc50 (I think, not into Volvo's) EV and it was very nice. Quick, quiet and lots of torque. IF I had the money and my own charging point I would buy a model S. On the other hand, my old 4 banger getse from point a to b for little money so I'm not complaining. Oh, and a new crate engine for my old Corolla was 7k back in 2010 but Toyota paid the bill.
