BTS was originally supposed to be a rap crew of established underground pros. That's why the first three members were all rappers/street. The label gave them waaaay more freedoms and creative expression than the industry afforded their acts, even though BigHit was struggling financially and it was a big risk to stick to that idealistic method.
There is no main member. RM is the leader which means he is an interface between management and the group. He also can arbitrate logistical or personal issues within the group. Hopefully as you watch more you will see the group is made up of seven musicians who all are part of the group creative process.
BTS is not a Western boyband, but a group which was founded to make hip hop. They then expanded into a multi-genre enterprise. Members were drafted much like college athletes. BTS were intensively trained for years before being allowed to debut (the equivalent of going pro). The result was they wound up with seven bona fide stars each with extensive skill sets which in essence gave them the potential to become a super group, a feat they against many negative currents were able to achieve. Boxing BTS as a boyband though technically plausible as they are all male is a disservice to understanding as it obscures the fact BTS is comprised of top tier musicians. The uniqueness of their music is why they are on top of the world. Visuals just like in rock do not hurt gaining the public's eye.

Yes RM which his real name is “Kim Namjoon” is the leader of BTS, every Kpop group has a leader except for one group lol and he does most of the song writing but the other members definitely chip in and are involved. You’ll see when you watch the rest of the video that they’re all involved together in the song writing, producing, choreography and so much more. Every Kpop group is all hand picked and formed by there company/agency through auditions. They have to train hard in every aspect in singing, rapping, dancing and so on it’s insane. Can’t wait for part 2! Great video! We love BTS, their story is like no other it’s very interesting.

2017 is the year BTS started taking over the world, not kpop, kpop was just following BTS's footsteps. It isn't the rise of kpop that helped BTS but the opposite. BTS is what made kpop a thing in the western world and overall a global thing. Without them you wouldn't hear about kpop.
"no one will watch an hour long video" armys will. We love long videos. Check out other people who also react to BTS. They often have hour long videos with a lot of views. I once watched a 5 hour long video of a guy watching all BTS' MVs in release order. I had it play in a background while I was working.

The beginning may have been misleading for you, so to clarify: they all were put together by the company Big Hit (now called HYBE) and trained together for 1-3 years (got singing/dancing lessons) before debuting as BTS in 2013 and releasing albums, having concerts and performances. Big Hit was a small company back then and didn’t have much money, which is why they shared a bedroom in the early years. (They got their own rooms around 2015/2016 and now are living in separate apartments.) They were never “independent” as BTS though, they were always backed and supported by the company.
They were always a music group first, the reality TV, documentary, livestream and UA-cam stuff is just a side thing (there’s a joke between fans that “BTS are full-time comedians and part-time musicians” since they are honestly hilarious in their variety shows, but their main focus has always been music.)
Depending on how you count, they have between 12 and 20 albums/mixtapes/EPs released, they’ve been very prolific. That’s one of many reasons they’re on a temporary break right now, to give themselves room to breathe and regain energy for a while.
To give you a brief career timeline overview: They started out small in 2013 but got successful in Korea/Japan around 2015, got the first Asian “artist of the year” award in 2016, and blew up in the USA and the west around 2017-2018. And then the pandemic gave them an extra boom (because of a lot of bored people with free time browsing the internet looking for distraction and comfort) so now they’re among the top best-selling artists in history. But they were already extremely successful before the pandemic.

Run BTS is the self content show...
No Rm is the leader , but they all contribute to the BTS songs. They are just not making new BTS music, just solo albums. Their TV show Run BTS will have new episodes and other content. But Jin the oldest will have to serve mandatory military service starting in Dec.
The rappers (RM, Suga & J-Hope) do a lot of the writing & producing. The 4 vocalist write and contribute too. Now they’re all branching out to do solo projects. JHope is headlining Lallapalooza in July. Jungkook just did a collab with Charlie Puth, V was just at the Celine fashion show in Paris. Big Hit (their small company) rebranded as Hybe who went public in 2021 then brought Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings (home to Justin Bieber, Ariana grande, black eye peas, j bavin…etc). Epic underdog story. Keep going! 👍🏼
The rappers of the group RM, Suga and Jhope write most of the lyrics and are mainly involved in the production process also.....but the other members are also very much involved in the entire process...

If you didn’t know, In Korea and other Asian countries, they reverse the order of their name. For example “Kim Namjoon” “Kim” is his family name and “Namjoon” is his own name. If he were American it would be written as “Namjoon Kim”

Omg guys please restart and watch again. The BAND debuted in 2013 with their first album from a small agency which had little clout or promotion. That's why they widely used online platforms to promote themselves. They didn't start off as UA-camrs smh. In 2014 they were sent to America to train under Coolio etc. which was filmed and that show is called American Hustle Life.
Run BTS is another one of their content shows, as well as Bon Voyage, In The Soop, etc. As the doco said due to a lack of traditonal tv and radio coverage, they had to start their own promotion content for survival.

The "free promotion" is actually a bit missleading. That was one year in and in LA while doing a reality type show for Mnet called "American Hustle Life". As a result the scripted part called for exiting stuff. Like that concert when they already had more than enough fans to fill the small venue. There were actually quiet a few fans waiting at the airport when they landed back than. (Even if that is nothing on the numbers they have today)
RM is - as they -said - kind of the team-captain- He stood between the company and the others and was usually the one to hold speeches especially at important ceremonies or on English programms. You probably know that know.
Kim is his last name. But because of the culture it is named first. About a third of SK's population is named Kim or something. In the group there are 3 non-related Kims. The trainee that was the last to be cut was also a Kim.

On April 1, 2021, Hybe announced through a board resolution that it would divide the label business (Big Hit Music) from Hybe to establish new company. Hybe will hold 100% of the stake in new company. On July 1, 2021, Big Hit Music was divided from Hybe and became a subsidiary of the Hybe.
handing out the flyers was part of a reality show they made called American Hustle Life where they went to the US to learn more about hip hop culture
They were making music from the beginning. The variety show content was on the side of their packed musician schedules.

There's no main member, RM is the leader kinda like a leader in a football team, not like the main person.
The kpop industry runs like an education system… trainees within a company train their whole lives without knowing whether they’ll debut or not. There is also like a grading/scoring system and monthly evaluations… if u don’t meet the higher ups’ expectations, higher the chance of not debuting or getting kicked out. It’s quite harsh especially to most companies in the industry. This is why ppl get the impression of the industry being “manufactured”. Luckily, BigHit gave them artistic freedom which NOT MOST companies do.

If u wanna go deeper n interested to know more bout BTS. Here some advice
- Dont cut or skip the video. If u want to react to BTS MV, just insert the BigHit intro then u wont have any problem with copyright, so dont worry. Bighit allowed it. The see it as a promotion
- Always put the caption on. Their lyric is one of their important part. If u want to check the lyric fully, try DOOLSET ( please correct me if I mispelling).
- Feel free to stop n rewind when u want to comment or talk. ARMY (BTS fandom) hate it when people didnt paying attention to the video
- Be honest. No problem even if their song is not your cup of tea. Music is about preference. We only ask u to be open minded n respectful.
- Dont afraid to have a long video. As long as it is about BTS, ARMY will love it
- Some of BTS song NEED an explanation. There are a good explanation video by DKDKTV, XCELESTE, Bookish theory. Just tell us which video u want to react n we will guide u, some maybe will send u the right link. The order: MV-Explanation-Live performance (believe me when I say BTS is better in their Live performance than studio version, n no lipsync. Backtrack, sometimes, Autotune, rarely, just for aesthetic purpose only, but never lipsync)
And if u love dance, u can check their dance practice, they have choreography video for almost all their song/mv. Same with behind the scene.

RM es un hombre increíble, trabaja muchísimo y siempre está esforzándose. RM escribe y produce, es el escritor principal del grupo al ser el miembros con más canciones acreditadas en la KOMCA, mientras que Suga por su parte es el mayor productor del grupo. RM es realmente genial, sus letras me ayudaron mucho con mi proceso de sanación mental y es genial poder ver que más personas aprecian su persona y su trabajo musical. Veré la segunda parte ahora mismo, BTS es un excelente grupo.
Bts is the group that breake thrue to America and the world, the are now the biggest group in the world, the write, produced there music, check out there Grammy performents is a james Bond style
When you finish watching your answers will be in it. Also you must of missed it run bts is thier own variety show they have 155 episodes and took a break from it but they mention they wanted to start that again while they are doing there solo projects.
These guys ages range from 24 to 29.
KPOP got big is all thanks to BTS , not the other way around
actually, they never stopped releasing songs every year since their debut (2 albums almost every year, 2021 is the only year that they didn't release an album)
they filmed Run BTS (the variety show) while also working on their albums... sometimes they will put the show on break when they have very tight schedules
so it's like we're seeing their professional sides through their songs and performances AND we're also seeing their goofy and chaotic sides through Run BTS, Bon Voyage, In The Soop and even their lives

HYBE bought Ithaca Holdings and now is directly affiliated with Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, etc and Big Machine records and their artists. SO, yeah, they're really really big now in not only South Korea but also America. BTS is label mates with some of the largest names in American entertainment.

@@stickyreacts7231I get that negative comments can be a lot to deal with, but please try and understand that as ARMY we are EXTREMELY protective of the boys. If you don’t pay attention and seem genuine in your interest in them you WILL receive backlash because we don’t take kindly to their popularity and success being used for views by people who don’t really want to know or learn. They have been through and overcome a lot, and neither they nor their fans need that bs. So take the feedback seriously, approach any reaction to them in a genuine way and pay attention so you don’t miss a ton of information because you are not reading big chunks of it. If you show that you ARE sincere, and respectfully pay attention, you can easily show that you are not out to use or disrespect the boys for selfish personal gains, and that you are willing to learn and grow when you are made aware of how it can come across as if you were doing so. Because as protective as we are of BTS we are also the fandom of the sweetest, kindest and humblest guys on earth, and can be very kind, supportive and forgiving when it comes to reactors if they show that their first unfortunate impressions were wrong and that they are on this BTS journey for the right reasons 😊
