I was an Army wife years ago. I live in Texas. This is so moving to me that the Dutch people adopt our fallen soldier's graves and put flowers on them. I cry thinking about it. I have so much respect for the Dutch who show honor to soldiers who were not even from their country. This is a beautiful cemetery. Wonderful video. Thank you for making it.

You have to have been occupied, to appreciate what freedom really means. And when you do, you never forget who gave it to you.
It is passed on to the next generations by our grandparents.

3 years ago I signed up for the waiting list to adopt a grave on the Cemetery. Last February we finally received a letter that we were allowed to participate in the adoption program and that we had been allocated a grave. For us as a family it is very big honour and privilege to be able to take care and attend the resting place of one of the big heroes on this Cemetery. It is also a very, very powerfull way to educate en show my children that the freedom we're enjoying now and in the past 75 years is hard-won and with enormous sacrifices by very young men from another country. We as an nation and as a continent are forever in debt to those men, their family and their nation. Little by little we get more and more information about "our" soldier and are now in the proces of trying to find relatives in the US. PFC Robert G. Hughes RIP.

We can never repay what your uncle did for the people of the Netherlands. I can only say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you my hero, without you I would never be here! R.I.P. Mister Jack Taff

I wish to thank all involved (staff, volunteers, and visitors) in the sacred memorial you created for those, like my grandmother's brother, Joseph Patrick Fox, who is buried there. The internet allowed my sister and a 2nd cousin to supply photos and stories to the volunteer researcher. Now there is one more reason to visit the Netherlands.

My sister and I just found out yesterday that our uncle is buried here from a volunteer who emailed us about sending her a picture of him. We never met him because he died just before he was born but my mother told us a little about her young brother who died in WWII and thought for years he was buried in France now we have more information and we shared looking through very old albums yesterday and I scanned the pictures I found of Willis and my sister emailed them to the volunteer for the Faces of Margraten.

Beautiful but sad. My friend's Uncle Theodore Paschke is there. He died just a few weeks prior to end. God Bless all the families.

Our thank you will never be enough to the soldiers who have fought for us and this nation and made the ultimate sacrifice. RIP to all the heroes. Much gratitude to the wonderful citizens of Margraten for taking care of the graves and caring for them like a family member.😢😢 ✝️ 🇱🇷 ️
