I used my grandmother's recipe from Hungry. It's a very long procedure but it's well worth it! I only bake it at Christmas time. I do the icebox dough using yeast. Take out till room temperature. Form 4 ball for 4 horns. I bake walnut, prune & poppy seed. After taking them out oven & cool a little I brush butter & sprinkle confectionering sugar. My family loves it! Merry Christmas!!!
This looks so delicious. My father was a first generation American and he was 100% Hungarian. My grandmother and mother both made nut roll all the time. Sadly all of my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles have long passed away. I still make some of the Hungarian desserts but unfortunately I was forced to eat gluten free now due to Celiac disease. Nut roll was my favorite. Thanks.
My mom used to make this all the time as well as other good Hungarian stuff. She is no longer here but I’m so happy I saw your channel 😊. Definitely following you so I can figure out how to make these delicious dessert’s 😊. Thank you so much for sharing. Watching from Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you again to write to me and welcome me back. I left a bit because a couple of people were busy with my English and accents. I can not change now this is how I talk ! My site is a cooking site! I do not have no problem with criticism when it’s about cooking! But when I get this kind off notes really hurts! I am happy if someone helps if I left out something from the recipe. I try make everything easy to inspire you to cook and bake! Thanks for liking my site and for the subscribe! I will come up with new dish soon! Keep on cooking and baking with me. Thanks Magdi
You made a wonderful beigli, much better than my efforts have been, but you forgot to say at the end that the rolls need to be "painted" with egg yolks twice before being put in the oven, so that they get a nice crackly finish like logs.
Wth?? Don't listen to those idiots! They have no brain, and have nothing better to do! You speak very well, ur recipes are clear, and ur accent is good. They're just stupid, just ignore them! Thank you for your recipes! :) They are very helpful!
Thank you so much for posting this! My grandmother used to make these every X-mas & I'm going to make the nut roll now; I'm also going to use same recipe but change filling to apricot for apricot roll❤️
I've been making nut roll from my Aunt's recipe that she got from her mother etc. It's always interesting to watch how other people make there's. I like the way you trimmed the edges. I will try that next holiday. Yours look yummy!
Magdi, you're killing me with these awesome sweets! Are you trying to make me fat(er)? I need more healthy. If I want to get fat, I can go across the street to my neighbor's house. She's almost as good as you are, in the kitchen>Keep them coming!
I am trying to get to your recipe for the walnut beigli but all I can get is your video. Can you please tell me how to find the written out recipe so I can get all the ingredient list. I tried to go on your UA-cam page but the only thing I see are all the videos. My mom used to make makos and dios every year at Christmas and since she is no longer here, I want to try and make it. Appreciate your reply. Thank you - Nora
You remind me my Aunt. She doesn't play too much either. So quick, flexible and all she does always turn out well! I am making your recipe this year. Wish me luck... Merry Christmas!
Ann Traditio I always use bread flour that’s works the best for me. You can use anything you desire but I don’t know it’s works or not. Play and you will find the kind you works for you.

How long do you have to mix the dough? (using a hand mixer)
Ann Traditio
5 minutes or until the turning smooth. Let it rise until double in size.
Look delicious! I wonder if it would be possible to add amounts in grams also? I live in Europe so I don't use "cups"... Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I can't find the baking temperature anywhere. Please tell me.
Bake on 350 F for 25-35 minutes. Baking time depends on your oven.

nem kell keleszteni a tésztát_? csak betenni a refrigeratorba_? és mennyi ideig_?
veronika petrics : kinyújtotta, megkened a töltelékkel és feltekered. A többit látod a videón. Kelesztett 45 perc- 1 órát kb.
a kinyújtás előtt kérdezem, miután megdagasztottam a tésztát és beletettem egy plasztik zacskóba , mennyi időre teszem be a jégszekrénybe?

This looks wonderful. Dog owners be aware, walnuts are very poisonous to dogs, much more so than chocolate.
