- The owner of Coops West Texas BBQ said since he made the announcement last Tuesday that he was closing his business, people from all over San Diego County have been waiting in line to dine at his restaurant. “When people started hearing about the closing, it was such an outpouring of love. It brought tears to my eyes when I came out here and saw line all the way to the street,” said Cooper.

I will try it for sure if that many people are in support of it staying open.
I live in RB too….great guy, decent barbecue but the customer service is horrible! However, I will pay a visit considering what the biz owner is facing!
Great food there, been there several times & I'll be back. Too bad they don't close later so folks can get food after work. I think their lunch only hours hurts their business.

If they aren’t open for dinner they won’t last. They aren’t very smart business people. Dinner makes up 60-65% of your business in a restaurant.
Closes way too early. That’s the time I get out of bed.
Get up earlier.
Can’t fire pits past certain hours in most municipalities.

What happens after the people leave again? Going broke never comes as a sudden shock, it's a pattern of bad habits. Best of luck to Coops, but people wont be there all the time. These high prices are here to stay and lending will be expensive.
In addition to high prices, folks don’t care to patronize businesses with bad customer service….after my last experience in 2020, I never went back! Poor customer service might have something to do with less customers! IMO
He’s blaming inflation. 2023 and 2024 have been record years for many restaurants in the county. 🤷♂️.

This place is expensive for a meal and it didn’t help when Popeyes chicken set up shop right down the street from them, they would have to have this same crowd every day in order to stay open.
I remember Major's barbeque joint from the 80's.
Went there years ago. The cashier couldn’t do math. The cooks had to help her out. Haven’t been back since.

Only open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday with very limited hours. What were they expecting? Sometimes people are so out of touch with reality. They expect their business to succeed? C’mon.

That place is trash 🗑️ I ate there a few times back in the day and it was trash. Dryed up burnt ribs . Lazy employees . I grew up in the grove so trust me i know .
I absolutely agree with “lazy employees”….rude too! I don’t mind paying good money for good food but I am not paying for bad customer service!!!!
