Youre so dead on with saying its been really weird. I heard its because the 38 got washed out thats why stocking stopped early in the summer but idk .Were from Hesperia but we have always relied on GVL for solid fishing but due to this last years lack of info i didnt take them instead we got to figuring out Gregory . We did well there over the last year. When they were putting mt. Lassens in GVL it was on fire but idk what happened. The summer before last was very consistent at least for us. I hope it is better pretty soon its my kids and i top 3 lakes of so cal.

No CO river area trips yet... still focused on SoCal trout season
Why are they so secretive about there stocks ?? Are they trying to keep people away ? Iv been fishing there since I was a kid . Kinda sucks
It's hard to say why but there are theories out there I've heard is that they don't talk about their plants so people go fish there...Hoping there's fish and they haven't planted so there's no money invested on their side but people are still paying. That's all speculation of course, but... Outside of that, I haven't heard any other credible theories, but that's the best one I've heard. Who knows what's really going on or why they don't get more on top of it. Its a privately held lake so it's up to the board of supervisors to decide what's going on with it. 🤔
Free to fish when pre season
I noticed the private lake sign at the start of the video. Last me and my kids went up and I didn't like the negative vibes from the locals and the guy that took out money to fish there and we won't be back there. Hopefully they are stocking their lake with there private money and not with our DFG license fee money that we pay for our annual license.
Yep, it is a private lake. They allow public access and they do get state fish..
Pretty sad about Green Valley. They have plenty of water to get some stocking.
They definitely should be planting right now
It's too cold, not optimal temperature for trout feeding. They'd be lethargic and not much of a fight. But yes, they could plant its just not ideal yet.
