Wickedness in high places. They are not cutting Massy's share so why run them away? They should understand that this is the lively hood of these vendors. Boycott the Massy stores! Labour love!
Have an official gov't backed farmer's market in Arnos vale on set regular days, e.g. every Sunday, tuesday and friday, with a big canopy area. A canopy may be easier to put up and dismantle than tents. This would give them a designated place to sell and a large customer base. They could have music and all natural local dishes made from the produce or even barbecue on Fridays! Maybe even some handicrafts and plants on Sundays. Businesses in town and in arnos vale could use it for extra sales and advertisement and it may boost customer numbers at the new mall. Tourists may like this. I would LOVE this. Local People may get used to buying slightly larger quantities, rather than for 1 or 2 days, they stock up for 3 or 4. The vendors may not leave their goods, have to keep the place clean, and may have to go to town on the other days but I wonder if this could be a compromise. Saturday is a big market day in town so it may work for them. Just an idea.
When I was a child growing up in Arnos Vale, there was a small market; foot steps from the bridge leading to the sports complex, next to the big supermarket. Vendors sold fish and ground provisions there.
The government can do better for st vincent, it's sad how many people suffer to live , The people are the back bone of the country they deserve financial help 🙏 .
Does anyone know for certain if these people were given prior notice to move from that location? Were they occupying/trespassing on the property of another business?
This topic came up in 2020. They were notified at that time, as the man stated in the interview. By their own statements they admit to using this as their personal store/overnight storage. To sell during the day with little overhead cost is much different than acting as if they are paying rent and utility cost.
Move to go where? I grew up around the area; vendors were there from a long time ago. Why move them? They are not cutting Massy's share. Where are the jobs for them? They have to eat and provide for their families.
You guys are too hard of hearing not the first time they ask you all to move from there the ppl need their place blocking up the ppl them place you guys have to ease off to much up under the ppl them place.
Not true people must survive how ever thay can under Ralph regime you come on here chatting shit you are part of the problem why vincy will get worst ever year
Mr butler you dont have a heart these are poor people they have a right to survive do the government know they are suppose to help the poor with people like you things are good with you so you dont care but the bible we are to be our brothers keeper
This is very sad times are hard they should have dealt with them diffrently they were makeing and honest living how must they support their families the government should know we all have to answer to GOD
Vincy people that area is for parking not selling products,go to the big market in town and make use of it,why there is always confusion you poor folks.
Vincy since we improved on our market in town no one wants to go there, you want to stay in the streets, tek wa u gea.The property owners also disapprove of the crowds constant begging, urinating and obscene language. Time for change,no politics.
People are trying to survive doing things the right things The government needs to pay
That's so unfortunate. Why not give them opportunities to secure vendor permits instead of destroying their works?
Ralph is a beast and he and his government need to go. I hope vincentians wake up and get rid of that monster and his bunch of no goods!
If them being there is a problem why were they allow to be there for so long. I guess the government blind 😂😂

Paradise Inn does this on the 1st Sunday. But on a weekly basis is a great idea. They must clean up their messes though.

@@patricej.8976 Why not provide jobs for them or relocate them? Why not allow them to gather their produce?
Vincy need to drop the jab protocol because it's slowing down the economy. People won't come to get hassled.
Help the people of the country instead of destroying your own people smdh
So sorry guys, waiting for a progress report.
Didn’t they ask them to move more than a year ago?
