One of my favorite parks. Went last September as part of a 2 week trip in southern Utah. The aspens were gorgeous. No one was there. We hiked Wheeler peak and saw a grand total of 7 people all day. Loved the cave. It is a great, and remote park!
Oh yes! I love how few people there are for how nice of a park it is! Glad you had a great time there!
We stayed at the prefab motel in Borders and thought it great! The wind turbines were an eyesore. The cave and Mt. Wheeler were great as well.
Oh that is good to know!! And that is great, sounds like it was an awesome trip!!
Thank you for sharing. I am planning my trip to Great Basin in June. Can't wait!!
Nevadas full of surprisies
Wow, the photo at 3:08 on the wall is my image. GBNP asked me several years ago if they could use it, but I had never had a chance to get back and check up on it since.
Did you take route 50 to get there?
Yes, we took 93 from the Bonneville Salt Flats and then took 50 from Ely
A lot of people think Great Basin national park is similar to Rocky mountain np
I could definitely see some similarities in terms of alpine lake hiking!
I like breakfast for dinner :) Spam and potatoes for the win: I just find it nice that you show what a camp meal sometimes is, that's real. It isn't always a glamorous 3 course meal.. especially after a long hike. Thanks for taking us with you.
So true!! Just something easy and filling after a long day’s adventure. Thank you for your kind comment 😊
