Thank you for this because I don't remember how I got to the train station from the main terminal the last time. I was hazy on anti-anxiety pills from the flight.
Brilliant video, many many thanks. Geneva airport signposting and website are amongst the worst I've ever come across, so it's very helpful to see how to navigate around. I presume the other down staircases that you passed accessed different platforms.
kapparomeo If you start from outside 'departures' (i.e. If going from bus/taxi straight to train, and not flying), how do you get to the 'arrivals' hall?
Benzknees If you go inside from the bus stops you should be on a Mezzanine level with a pizzeria. Go down the yellow escalators and these are the same as at 3:15
kapparomeo Thanks, but I don't recall any mezzanine part of the check-in area, and none is shown on the terminal map on the airport website. Do I need to go up a level from check-in, to where all the shops and restaurants are located, before I find the stairs in your video?
Benzknees if you're outside facing the numbered doors going into departures at the Main terminal, turn right and walk straight on and that will take you into the upper mezzanine of the train station. The road makes an L-shape with airport departures as the long side and the the train station thecshortvleg. If you are visiting GVA soon, bear in mind that there's a lot if building work at departures set the moment but it's not affecting arrivals or the train station.
Great - many than ks. And I see from your reply to another question that the Ticket Machines are under the escalators just as you enter the station via the revolving door.
+pianodrew No, this device is solely for queue management in the office, but you can get the free ticket from any bus or train automatic ticket machine. See this link for more info: www.gva.ch/en/Portaldata/1/Resources/fichiers/publications/publications_informative/transports-gratuits_EN.pdf
Hello , how long does it take from Geneva airport arrival to the train station ? Is it a long way ? and Are there still free tickets for the gare for 80 minutes? If yes, on the machine which one we should click on ? I am travelling to Geneva on Saturday with my students a nd I am stressfull, need ur help
It does not take long to walk to the train station, no more than 5 minutes from the main terminal (as seen in this video) and 15 minutes from the charter terminal.
@@kapparomeo and what about taking the bus to the gare ? dO You know how to go too gare by bus ? which bus ? can we pay in the bus by card or can we use free tickets which is for 80 minutes in the bus too?
É possível pernoitar no aeroporto??é porque o meu vôo é cedo e tenho q ir algumas horas antes porque onde moro o último comboio para a estação de geneve é a 1 da noite
Hello, I'm afraid that there are no direct connections to Interlaken from Geneva Airport, you can normally reach Interlaken with one change at Bern. Enjoy your trip!
Azizah Yahya As far as I'm aware, there's no difference between booking online or in person - whenever I've checked www.sbb.ch, they have always come out the same.
You can see a map of the airport here: www.gva.ch/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-60/ from my understanding the airside sector after security is used for transfers as well.

Benzknees That's correct, yes,. There's a blue sign hanging from the ceiling above each one telling you what number it leads to.

Would have been a good idea to point out the 'Information Bureau' just inside thee station where you can by tickets and train schedules.
Thank you
I am glad that this video is still useful for people.
Nice Video :)
Thanks, glad it was useful for you.
You actually saved me
Happy to help, enjoy your journey.
At 3:58, the machine you highlighted: is that where you go to collect your free tourists transport pass, valid for 80 minutes? Thanks :)

Cyclops Productions Why is the ticket only valid for 80 mins? What about my ticket when I go back to the airport?
How far is it from Terminal 1 to the Airport Train station?

Dear Kapparomeo, should we buy the train ticket in advance online or just buy the ticket upon arrival. will there be fare difference? Thank you.

Please, answer my question. Does the airport have a transit zone?
