Hi! You can give the Repair Selection feature in Pixelmator Pro a try. To use it, make a selection of the area you want to fill, then choose the Repair tool and click Repair Selection.
I know this vid is from a few years ago but this method is ancient, convoluted, and ultimately ineffective for much of anything beyond solid colors. Pixelmator STILL doesn't have generative AI for filling/extending image backgrounds. When are we going to get this? Pixelmator is already at LEAST a year behind Photoshop in this regard.
We are continuously integrating AI-powered features to simplify the image editing process as much as possible. We're also exploring generative art as it's an interesting field but it's extremely resource-demanding, even for the advanced Mac chips. We have a preference for maintaining processes locally on-device, so we are hopeful that future advancements in technology will make this possible.
This tutorial was created before be added the Select and Mask tool to Pixelmator Pro. Now, you should be able to select even the most intricate details, just like the stray hair in this picture. 👀
Love it! It does not look so hard to fix photos anymore!
Awesome will be switching to this app soon!
hi! do you have the same feature with photoshop where i can extend the background with content aware fill. or perharps, on the next update?

@@PixelmatorVideos Do you have a tool that can do this or walkaround meanwhile ?
@@thatguyanjhon @privatemd2219 you actually can! just merge the "bigger" layer with the transparent area with a solid black layer for example!
Keep them coming👌🏿

But you didn't extend the background...the background is the same size...
Technically true... We had the idea for the tutorial without really knowing what to call it. 😅
