How do Jews today understand salvation -- Yohannan ben Zaccai invented present day Judaism. The question of exile from the land itself must surely connect with the question "How long?" 70 years for idolatry, 1872 years exile for ?? Though the millennial rule can be seen as something of a "comedown" from the eternal purposes of God in the church, it doesn't mean for that reason that it has no place or significance. The temple which is proposed by the present "Sanhedrin" is of course a denial in itself of Messiah and the new covenant. Nevertheless like "Herod's temple" which our Lord calls sometimes "Your house" can still because connected to God's name considered still a holy place; otherwise how do we understand the "temple of God" of 2Thess.2:4. RC Pope in the church? Indeed "an antichrist" but how about the "power and lying signs and wonders" "....and then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus shall consume with the breath of his mouth, and shall annul by the appearing of his coming; whose coming is according to the working of Satan in all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, and in all deceit of unrighteousness to them that perish, because they have not received the love of the truth that they might be saved. " A literal interpretation keeps things clear and simple, does it not?
