Ahem, I have done a research and I found the video at the Dutch Prodigy fan site and it most certainly is the official one. The description fits; that of the car, the bonfire and that of Liam burning the pages of a magazine. And it is indeed obviously a low-budget attempt.

...also, for the record, almost all of the early (i.e. Experience & Jilted Generation) singles were actually remixes and not the same tracks as their album counterparts! i.e. Charly (Alleycat Remix), Everybody In The Place (Fairground Remix), etc...

still not as good as the original album version but a good song anyway. i have great memories of being 13 and jumping round like a loon to the album.

  • @andyflange
    @andyflange 16 років тому

yes it does... this is the original as heard on the album 'The Experience'... the version you'll be mistaking it for was an EP remix called the 'Sunrise Version' which was released alongside Jericho in 1992

Liam Howlett (better known as The Prodigy's music man) personally thought this vid was pure shit. By today's standards, the CGI is shit, but come on! This was 1992... high energy vid for a high energy song! You can't go wrong.

  • @Euroviking86

I remember that the Prodigy thought this video was so bad that they prohibited it from airplay. It was also the only video not to feature on the "Electronic Punks" VHS release. Not hard to see why, if you ask me.

  • @Sansana

Yeah when I saw him and Keith dancing together. They're great tag team dancing IMO.Unfortunately after Experience album they're separate dancing on each track.
His dancing is very suitable on Rave style. But when the band changed their music style. His dancing is forcibly decrease a little about excitement. Compare his "Experience" years dancing and "Voodoo People" dancing. You'll see a difference.
Is he still dancin on this time. Sorry if my grammar wasn't good.

This song is FREAKIN' awesome. The fact that is come from a YOUNG ONES sample is more to the point that it is more testimonial to the era that it was released! PRODIGY (and the Young Ones) forever!

Yes it definitely IS mixmag. The prodigy were quite badly slagged off in the August 1992 issue, over the rise of the cash-in 'kiddie rave' scene. So started a feud between mixmag and the prodigy.

Well, Bieber is not popular in my country but almost every video I see has some comment about him. So, I checked who he is. Now I hate you Bieber anti-fans because I'm pretty sure I lost 10% of my hearing when I found his music :/. As for The Prodigy I used to switch source in my TV to AV and take out the tape from VCR so I could make it twice as laud as it was :P. You think it's hard? Try living in the days of analog technology.

oh i appreciate what u say - im very much he same, i went to a heavy metal festival a few weeks ago and i love drum & bass - music is all about mood and feeling
the comment i left earlier was very narrow minded and biased BUT the person i replied to also made a very narrow minded comment and i felt it was the only appropriate to respond to him on the same wave length
dont take it to heart - i was just throwing some abuse at a wanker

You're talking about "Experience". And if you can read, you should be able to read FULL titles from back cover of record. On "Experience" is a remix of this song called "Fire Sunrise remix" (or sth). This one on the video, is original single version. And as a matter of fact, you should know, that most of tracks on the "Experience" are remixes - there are only two, maybe three songs released in original version.

The Prodigy were great pioneers of rave and hardcore techno style in the early 90's. The drum and bass style of the experience and the more rough style of the jilted generation were basicly the only techno I could ever stand, except for the chemical brothers. I actuallt prefer their erlyer works. Fat of the land was great as well, but the newest albums were not as great.

Did the members of the prodigy did drugs?

Love, love, love this song. Still think that this is one of their best. They don't make songs like they used to. But I still love them, because they are one in a kind. There is no other band that would make such incredible and powerful music.

at the end of the video you can see Liam burning a magazine on the fire. it's the issue of Mixmag where they made him out to have killed rave music. He always hated that and it spurred him on to be more powerful. this video has meaning. listen up!

Luckily I have around 1000 CDs and Vinyls to raid from the 60s onwards :D
And I wouldn't right my generation of music off too quickly - if you dig deep enough theres some good stuff managing to survive between the R&B shite and mass produced bands.

I'm 46 with a whole headful of excellent memories from back in the day...You are spot on about the sorry state of music these days.

45... and if you are around the same age - I envy your generation - you got all the cool bands, Micheal jackson when he was belting out GOOD pop. Now all that we have is shit indie bands that sound like the same and the few Metal bands we have are dying out

Only if you don't look past the early 90s synths. Otherwise, it's quite a dark and trippy record, especially played impossibly loud in a rave at 4am in the morning when everyone is off their heads. You wouldn't want it much darker!

lol what band is that if it is made by a band not some crap someone made up... but i think its horrible i mean "I am the god of hellfire" i really liked the video and the music fit perfectly with it but its only like 10 words :S stupid song!

@grahamhg nah. perfect example is the "strictly underground" 'illegal rave' compilations. the first two you hear the hardcore techno sound, then by 93' on the third one it's nothing but breakbeat hardcore.
