MAN! This was INVALUABLE! I just built my 1st Stage plot last night and thank to you and this video I think it looks really good and was very easy. Much easier than the other routes I had looked at. Thanks a bunch!
Happy to help Chris! I’ve looked at a lot of the apps out there & just can’t imagine wanting to pay to make this more complex than it needs to be. Thanks for the message.
Brilliant. I was over-thinking this (as usual 🙃), looking at the online paid services, and this brought me down to Earth. All we need, simple (really, who needs those clip-art images?), readily available from anywhere, re-usable, infinitely editable. Thanks!!
Thanks for this! I had been trying all kinds of "stage plot designers" and wasn't happy with any of them and certainly didn't want to pay for any of them and this gave me far better results exactly to my liking!
great job! especially from a technician's point of view clip art etc. are nothing more than distraction from the essence on the rider. was just about to write some new ttech riders for different band setups of my band, and it was definitely worth taking a look at your video. thanks a lot!
john penovich JRP! Thanks for checking out the videos! I'd love to have you on the channel for an interview or as a contributor... I've got questions and coffee ☕️ for you!
I've used a number of different programs over the years, but having something cloud based really helps me keep things updated, shared and accessible, even when I don't have my computer with me. Thanks for the comment & thanks for checking out the video!
Is it critical to have drums first in my rack mixer? Can't the tech just order them on their side how they like? I've see this topic in forums before but they never give a reason.
Yes, I would say it is critical. In a festival or short turn around situation, or really any situation where you are sharing a stage, it is incredibly selfish to steal any of the limited time by making technicians do redundant work cross patching your entire input list. Everyone will have a handful of channels that need to be patched uniquely, but the more you can stick to what everyone is expecting, the more time everyone will have to work on more important things to make the show better.
@@alexc2234 Ultimately you can do whatever you want... it's not a hard rule. But, what's the reasoning behind wanting to do it differently? Even one-offs in a small club can mean patching into an existing snake, console, etc. which will eat up time if it's a complete cross-patch from what the technician has prepared for. It's doable, but why?
@@DcSoundOp I'm asking because I already set up my new X32 in a certain order and programmed in the compressors, EQs, gates. etc. I wanted to know how critical it was for me to rebuild all that in a different order. I just learned that there was some preference in order. I could mismatch things on my end through the splitter but seems like a mess.
@@alexc2234 Ah that makes sense. If you've put in that much work, you should definitely spend a few minutes saving channel presets for each channel you have set up. Then you can recall those presets anywhere on the console and rebuild your show in a new order really fast.

Glad it was helpful!
I needed a stage plot for a gig very quickly and this was absolutely helpful. Thank you!
I never thought about doing it on Drive! I always did it on Word, this is so so so so much better!
A great and simple way to make sure that both the sound crew and band start off on the right foot. Cheers!
Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the video!
Wow you helped me a lot ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍. I need it ASAP I lost my time with other channels , when I found you, I made it very quick, Thanks.

Cloud for the win. Also, offline editing is even better than strictly cloud-based.
Thanks for making the videos. Very good

What command did you hit to open the drawing again to add and edit?
Just double click on the drawing - or single click it and you'll see an EDIT button appear in the bottom left of the drawing.

@@DcSoundOp Thanks for your answer. Most of the small time local bands around here are one act per night. What are your thoughts on that?
