Amazing work, I bought an 92 Prelude as my first car, it was sitting for a few months and the previous owner did swap the engine to an modified h22, it originally was a 2.0. Although he did a great job there still a lot of things to do. Sadly I fell in a deep dpression around the same time and wasted all my money because of an bad addiction. I went Rehab and in a psychiatric treatment center this year and this video just made me so happy and motivated, now I can't wait to save some money and finally work on my Prelude. I really appreciate your project (sry if my English is not the best)
Good job on getting your life turned around. Keep your hands and head busy. Get out there and start working on the car as often as possible. If you take time off, you lose motivation, and it's hard to get started again. If you have any questions about what I did, just ask!
Absolutely amazing body work and clean engine bay. The IM mod was wild! Just found your channel, going to see what other prelude updates are waiting for me! Wish I bought a set of JDM headlights back in the day when they were plentiful.....
Thank you so much! I'm balls deep in project Twin Snail Mail at the moment, trying to get it done for Power Tour 2024. But once that is completed, I will get back to the Prelude. Parts are getting so hard to find/afford for these cars. They are so cool and ahead of their time when built. If you have any questions, just ask!
When I was going to buy my first car. It was between a Honda Prelude and a Turbo charged Tercel Coupe. I chose the Tercel but I still wondered about this car. Still love them.
One of the reasons I dont want my glass taken out. Seals are non-existent? and glass can be hard to find. good job on the build, the prelude looks awsome. Got scared watching you push the engine stand off the ledge lol
@FullThrottlePerformanceMike that's actually in pretty good time, mine has already taken at least two years to get where I'm at and I haven't even started any body work on it. But my build ended up getting mice in it and it's the 1 year only cb7 se, so interior stuff is extremely hard to find. You did a amazing job, really can't wait to start posting mine from rat's nest back to glory.
Enjoyed watching this. I just bought a 96 si with a blown h23 due to hydrolocking hilariously enough from being driven through a puddle. H22a sitting on deck. OEM black car. Want to have the abs deleted, proper a/c delete, and a wire tuck performed. Watching how you shaved the bay and how you went about tucking the harness I found helpful.
Dude it was so much work shaving this bay. I shaved the bay in my chevelle and it was a walk in the park compared to the Lude.... however it was 100% worth the effort, it looks so good. The harness is another story too haha I have done a few other whole car wires and the Prelude was so much more involved. But a basic engine bay wire took would be the way I would go again. Thanks for watching
Been hunting UA-cam for about the past year trying to find ideas on what to do with my 92 si and by far this is the best video I've found. My question is how can I find information on what can be deleted etc. I'm trying to end up with a very clean and simple engine bay and I think that's the main goal. I'd appreciate any help, I'm working with an h23a3.
I have a few other videos where I go over what I deleted and how I made the harness. I think the biggest thing is to make your harness and hide/tuck all your wires. Little stuff like running wires under the intake make a huge difference. Check out my Project Prelude Playlist for more detailed videos on what I did for each area of the car
I’m buying a 1992 prelude next week Friday for 2k it’s only got 128k miles on it body is hella clean no rust same with underneath now the guy who had it before painted it a bad color it’s just rattle sprayed on I’m hoping it build the car up
First thing you need to do is drive the car and love it!!!! Second thing is if you live in a place where it gets wicked cold is strip that bitch down and repaint it. You could probably do a better job on your first time paint job with real paint over rattle can. If you have any questions about painting please ask them!
@@FullThrottlePerformanceMike yeah imma be honest I live in Wisconsin and the winters here are harsh but I’m buying this thing for 2k I feel like I can get it lower but I’ll try to talk to guy down it’s a buddy from school I go with
It has been a while since I messed with prelude doors. But I'm about 90% positive. I disconnected everything inside the door (Locks, power windows, speakers, switches). Pull the harness out the front of the door.
Bummer on the glass. In about '09 I bought a '93 prelude for $200 that the p.o. I think threw a rock through the back glass when he had a bad day. . I went to a junkyard where they pull the parts and stock them. The desk guy was surprised when he looked and they had 2 old rear windscreens. ($100) I took it to my mechanic and said fix her up so it will pass inspection. ... $1000 later she had a sticker! Ouch. But I loved that car for 20,000+ miles . Miss her a lot. Especially the interior(the digital gauges) except no arm rest! Rust spread until it was worth fixing the exhaust and brakes.
Yea the back glass had to be shipped in from a state or two away and was like 380 bux plus install. I wish I never would have sold my first lude but life happens. I built this one to match or be the car I wanted back in the day. It's a heck of a fun car I just to spend a few more bux to get a new computer and I can really have some fun with it.
Beautiful Lude. I'm restoring/ building my 94. Do you know of any resources as far as window molding? Especially for the front and back windows? Thank you.
I don't I had to go with aftermarket windshield molding. Your best bet is to get on the Prelude Facebook groups there are a few nee parts out there but you are going to pay for them.
I was wondering if you provide this service to potential customers? I expect something of this caliber would start at $20,000 at least. I'd be willing to pay that and more. Please let me know. Thank you.
Thanks I wish I had enough time to take on more projects but I cant even keep up with all of my projects. Twin Snail Mail it in the middle of its build, The Shevelles new motor is waiting on parts and me to build it, the Prelude needs axle seals and the new ecu setup and I just got a hood for it. So that needs body worked and painted.
Haha it's called parting cars out 10 plus years ago and storing shit!!! I do have one decent outer window door seal (I think pass side) I may have a okish driver's side I will need to look contact me thru email with what you are looking for ftpspeedshop@gmail.com
That's tough to say. I have been collecting parts for years and did all the work myself. If I had to give you my best guess the last phase (stuff I videoed) was about 8 grand. The total of the "collected" stuff 5 lug swap, rims, parts cars, engine would probably be somewhere around 4 grand. So 12 grandish and I still don't have a hood
I used to own a 93 Prelude 24 years ago in high school. I sold it to get a truck for work. Im looking to get another one for a project car. Is it really hard getting parts for these cars nowadays?
I owned my first one about 22 years ago and sold it to get a truck for work also. Never should have done that. Yes, nice parts are hard to come by, and they are expensive. But there are always a few of them being parted on Facebook groups. You won't find an aftermarket metal hood they don't make them anymore thats why I went with a carbon fiber hood. I would still recommend getting one they are just such cool cars. They were way ahead of their time in the styling.

It's hard to pass on the boost. But the Prelude was just so ahead of its time, and the interior was so much better than anything else in the 90s
@@FullThrottlePerformanceMike definitely was the boost. Excellent restoration ✨🔥🔥
@tonijohnson09 I did it backwards and waited until I was 35 before finding boost. Wish I could have found it younger haha

Awesome job! I just picked up a ‘93, it’s black…super excited to fix it up. I’m debating on documenting it as well… 🤔
Thanks for sharing!

17" rim
5x114.3 bolt pattern
45mm offset
