For anyone who wants to watch the new black butler but doesn’t know where to start:
Black Butler (BB) season 1 - follows some of the manga but branches off for its own original ending. The Jack the Ripper arc is the most crucial for watching the rest of the shows.
BB season 2 - entirely original. Typically fans either love it or hate it. Doesn’t impact any other adaptation so can be skipped.
BB book of circus - This follows the manga and is directly related to the adaptations which follow it.
BB book of murder ova - follows the manga and some fallout from the ending of book of circus. Needed for watching the movie...
BB book of the Atlantic movie - follows the manga, continues the story from the other ‘book of’ series, and will likely be relevant to this upcoming adaptation.

@@noazil6890 Yes, please. I want to see the cricket game animated, that part is so damn funny. To say nothing of Sebastian showing Phantomhive hospitality and "doing the cooking" in the next arc, which is arguably one of the most badass moments of the series so far after the fight in the Campania.

Minor correction: Mahoyo (witch on the holy night) is NOT a remake of a visual novel by the same name, but rather, an incomplete/unreleased Novel nasu wrote in mid 90s, which basically, is the first story he ever wrote. Nasu and Takeuchi decided to remake it into a more fleshed out story.
"More fleshed story" the visual novel has been around for more than 10 years and here I am still waiting for part 2 and 3 that were supposed to be released before anything Fate/Grand Order releated
@@Mayke0077 tsukihime remake was supposed to be out be mid 2010s, but was kept getting pushed back because of fgo, same with mahoyo sequels. In an interview nasu has said he still wants to do mahoyo 2&3, but nasu needs to get his priorities straight step away from fgo to make that happen. Got my worst fear from that same interview, because he also said while the mahoyo sequel might happen he doesn't know if it'll be VN and might be a "video work" (read:anime) and I kinda don't want that.

The absolute frenzy the Type-Moon fandom went into at this announcement. Getting Mahoyo was already incredible, but Tsukihime is HUGE. It's been so frustrating as a TM fan that so little is officially released over here. It's not even just the visual novels (though they are the most important), only around five Fate or Type-Moon manga have ever even been released in English, with the Fate/Zero English release even discontinuing before all the volumes were translated. It's so frustrating, with how many light novels get released in English nowadays, not having official releases for the Apocrypha or Strange Fake or any of the many other light novels and manga. Even with FGO's massive success, only two of its many manga adaptations are getting English releases, with one of them not even getting a physical release.
I'm still pissed the only European language Kara no Kyoukai novels have been translated into is Polish.
The problem with Fate novels is that most of them are self-published by TM in Japan. Even though TM is heavily commercialized nowadays, in that respect they are still running like a doujin group. So for a foreign translation of the novels to be published the project needs to be initiated by the publisher of that country/language. Not backed by a proper publisher, TM simply don't have the ability to push for English releases of their novels. It would most likely be Kadokawa someday in the future. Chinese localization of Fate novels were all done by daughter companies of Kadokawa in Taiwan and China respectively, in fact, for over a decade already.

Fingers crossed that the new Black Butler covers the School Arc of the manga. It’s decently long, covering about 4 volumes of the original material, which would justify changing it from OVAs to TV (the previous arcs all covered about 2-3 volumes (ish)) and, chronologically, it follows the Boat Arc.
I was like “Wait isn’t the school arc next?”. Boy is that and the arc after gonna be a wild ride.

I do hope that the EN of Tsukihime gets the same treatment as Witch on the Holy Night in the quality of the translation being faithful. Last thing I need is unnecessary changes or worse censorship. That being said, I will get it on the Switch because I love reading visual novels on the go since it won’t be on Steam.
For the new season of black butler it is most likely going to cover the school arc because the image it shows isn’t he poster art is the same courtyard of the school in the manga. I doubt it will get any father than the emerald witch arc (the arc that takes place after the school) but even just the school arc holds a lot of new characters and plot to be explored.
My only problem with the Tsukihime release is that it's only the Near Side routs. We'll have to wait another few years for the Far Side routes and then even longer for a hopeful full package version.
Though Red Garden has apparently restored the Satsuki route so that's exciting.

Even if it were just a Harley Quinn isekai instead of the Suicide Squad Isekai, I'd still watch it. I'm not even a comics guy, but there's a reason Harley's quickly risen to become almost more popular than the Joker. Her character, when done correctly, is clearly really, really good.

One of the writers for the Suicide Squad isekai is Tappei Nagatsuki (the author of Re:Zero) so maybe it will be good. I, for one, am excited. 💜

It's not as good as it sounds, you are 10 years older, 10 years smarter and your tastes have changed, while anime writing quality has dropped off. So chances are you will hate it.

Regarding the Suicide Squad going to another world or another dimension, it has happened in the past, a number of occasions actually, so not that far fetched as far as Suicide Squad adventures go.
Now, about going to a fantasy world, also there are precedents, the DC Universe has a number of canon High Fantasy worlds: Myrra, Skartaris, Gemworld, Faerie.
Truly, if this story happened in a volume of the Suicide Squad comic, it would be business as usual, the unusual part is that is anime.
from what I understood about black butler is that the first 2 seasons were like 90% fillers with only a couple episodes being actual canon and then book of circus which was a full anime(12 episodes) and the OVA's were canon so it's great to get more black butler

I was pretty excited by the Trigger announcements, mostly because we got some more teasing about the new Panty and Stocking and apparently a 15th anniversary theatrical release of the Gurren Lagann movies.
The fan translation/patch of the Tsukihime remake on Switch has been going strong for a while; it’ll be interesting to compare the two
Kinda odd to me u didn't mention the new Panty & Stocking season(even though it was revealed as a thing well before AX) since that was a really big 1 but maybe I missed it. I'm personally pretty excited since it prob won't only look good on account of WiT but it'll have a good OST on account of the guy who did Vivy & the show is written BY THE GUY WHO MADE RE:ZERO & WROTE VIVY, TAPPEI NAGATSUKI
Honestly, setting aside actual airing anime, the most excited I've been for anything anime-related this year was when Made in Abyss chapters started dropping semi-regularly instead of once every nine months or so.
Harley Quinn looks damn good in anime form, though. I'm sold.

they released a couple of promotional images following the black butler announcement! One picture is of Sebastian inside an ornate picture frame with 4 different crests on 4 parts of the frame that belong to Weston College from the Black Butler Manga. So when they say its a new series following the rest, they're just continuing adapting the manga story. So this season will be following the Weston College Arc of the manga which is the story arc directly after the Campania Arc which is what the book of the atlantic movie is based off of. So glad it's not just a strait up remake of the whole series

Damn Tsukihime is crazy...takes me back lol...I have a DVD copy of the anime somewhere around here. Pretty sure I first watched that through Netflix...back when they shipped out DVDs. Getting the original Visual Novel for that and Fate would be awesome.

i think you forgot to mention Tappei Nagatsuki (Creator of Re:Zero) is supposedly working on the Suicide Squad Isekai so... there's that, i'll be honest it looks like GATE but Suicide Squad and i'm all there for it even though i don't particularly like DC (or super hero related stuff in general)
I am so excited for a new season of black butler due to the fact it is my favorite anime and manga and the fact it has run my wallet into the ground. Now all that needs to happen is Twisted Wonderland to get an official anime adaptation release date.

Harley is the most like an Otaku Anime character of any DC character, she's basically what happen when a Yandere's object of affection is more insane then she is.
There already is DC Comics precedent for this kind of thing, Batman The Brave and The Bold had an episode that was essentially an Isekai, it also involved Etrogan and Merlin.
Fantasy stories and what ifs was a big thing in the 90's for comics.

I absolutely fell in love with the Suicide Squad Isekai sneak peek the second it started. The art looks absolutely gorgeous. Really could be a sign of where things are going. If not in the stories then at least in the art styles once again. 😍👏🏻 The animation and Harley looks absolutely amazing.
I think the live action film was very good, lots of changes and a bit slow at the end, but it was a joy to watch. Its on utube in HD so its easy to watch.
Tsukihime remake not being on PS5 could be a very good indication that TM will retain the cultured scenes we have from the original.
Since it's going on the PS store regardless of it being PS4 or 5, I doubt Sony will allow it to have H-scenes. Ah, since this is just a translation, I believe it's been said that the remake does not have them.
The Remake doesn't have H-scenes. The only thing it has is a confirmation that he banged Arcueid in her route.
Dude, new Eden of the East would be AMAZING. Could you imagine if they reworked that story for the 2020's and had a chance to flesh it out more? I cared about that anime SO much in high school.

I guess ninja batman was more successful than people imagined and IMHO joker in a fantasy world could be amazing if his pure genius and twisted mind can be properly depicted. if nothing else it's gonna look incredible and I'm all up for it cuz there's so much potential in bringing western comics to this genre that the possibilities are endless! if WIT will be in charge of the script this will be the biggest show of the season when it will be released

The amount that I have PRAYED for any decent way to play the original Stay Night Visual Novel ever since I first watched the DEEN anime is... quite frankly absurd. So even if this is not necessarily a promise of things to come, it is a step towards greatness and I am good with that for now.

I have had a love/hate relationship with Black Butler over the years, in which I seemed the only one that couldn't stand the second season in a group of (fan) girls. Only years later did I discover I wasn't the only one and that avid manga readers seem to have some big problems with it too. I only caught up recently with the seasons beyond the first two and I can tell you... It was certainly worth it. Especially with Book of Circus, I was baffled how much I enjoyed myself again.
I guess the Panty and Stocking news was too recent to make it into this video. Very excited for the Tsukihime release.
I fell off of isekai hard and fast, never even finishing the SAO movie and not watching any isekai since, barring a season of Re:zero. However! I’m a huge DC fan and once I realized the Suicide Squad anime is real? I’m 100% on board for this and anything else they release following.

Question about the Tsukihime remake, is it a true remake of the original story, or is it one of those surprise indirect sequels that you need to have read the original in order to get what’s going on?
In other words, can I buy and enjoy it without reading the original?
It's basically like Final Fantasy VII remake. It's basically remaking the same story, however there are some pretty MAJOR changes to it. Characters from the original story are removed, and many more are added. So, you don't need to have read the original to understand the remake, but given it's extreme differences I would still recommend it (not that there's ever going to be an official English release of the original). Also, important to note that the routes of the remake are about 5x longer than the original game's routes (it was a pretty short VN). So, A Piece of Blue Glass Moon only has the remakes for the first two routes (the "near side"). Another game is in the works remaking the other "far side" routes.

The Harley Quinn Isekai, or “That time an Evil scantily clad female villain went to another world” is made by Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio, so as long as no one from the US interferes it may be good. The first animated star wars visions compilation was good, the 2nd was not. I am guessing after the 1st success the masters of the universe at Hollywood decided to get involved so they could claim some glory and instead ruined it. A classic Hollywood tale.

As crazy as the Suicide Squad anime sounds, it's not really all that surprising to me. DC han done things like this before with the Ninja Batman movie and RWBY x Justice League. Then again, I might just not be surprised because isekais bore me and I'm not a huge super hero fan - animated Spider-Man and Deadpool being the only real exceptions. 🤷♂

RN is an enhanced port with extra content.
The 2004 PC release had an OP animated by Tatsunoko, I think.
The 2007 PS2 port replaced H-scenes and had OPs by DEEN.
The 2012 Vita re-release had the OPs done by ufotable instead.
A remake would be on a completely new engine, like with Tsukihime.
