Not bad. I like that he has the appropriate sabre wielding hinge. Forward and back not in and out. I was hoping he might've had fists and maybe a force deflection hand. Or even grasping hands for throttling rebels.
Excellent pickups of 40th anniversary return of the jedi darth vader . I just brought 40th anniversary emperor palpatine and 40th anniversary stormtrooper and 40th anniversary chewbacca keep collecting and may the force be with you all star wars fans the force is strong with this one 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you for the review. I don’t think I’ll ever go helmet less. Except for prom night. Well…. That’s another subject. ….. Just took delivery of Empire’s. Love it!!! Your channel is pretty cool, man. Coming from someone who saw the og series in the movie theaters when ticket prices were $3. Keep up the great work!!! -J
It's good that the helmet not fitting perfectly was mentioned in this review, but let's keep in mind that each figure is not going to be a perfect copy of the original; there will be tiny individual differences. For example, the helmet on my Jabba's Palace Lando didn't fit quite right when I got it, so I took a chance and got another one (it being one of my favorite costumes from these movies), and on that one the helmet fit perfectly. So let's wait for more reviews or reports from other people who own the figure before passing too harsh a judgement.
Hopefully they do a Revenge Of the Sith version of Vader and make it as good as the TVC dark times Vader. (There’s many differences in the helmet and body for Revenge Of The Sith than in ANH/Kenobi/Rogue One) so technically, we are indeed missing ROTS Vader in the line. He has a narrow helmet and silver shoulders that aren’t separate pieces in ROTS.
ROTS Vader's always been my fav look for the Dark Lord! I feel like Hasbro's waiting until the 20th anniversary of ROTS; maybe we'll also get a deluxe release with the operating table and removable parts too?
@@JamesBrophy I think the main issue across the units will be how the plastic has been sculpted and cut. The TVC version has that issue as well. Granted, I purchased a second loose unit because I wanna do some "diorama" but the mask DID fit better than my first loose unit. It looks as expected even with the small gap which is unavoidable but barely there. So TBS WILL HAVE that issue. It's a matter of how lucky you'll be with QC. It's also a question of how you position the portrait sculpt BEFORE putting the mask and dome.
A hard time with the helmet? Your comment is the first I've heard of that. I haven't had an issue with mine. I'd personally recommend this. I didn't struggle like this guy and mine doesn't have that gap this guy has in the video, but I understand your concern. The bottom helmet piece can be removed and adjusted where it's not crooked. This also let's you fold parts of the cape under the helmet so it wraps over the shoulders more broadly. I don't know why he didn't try adjusting the bottom helmet piece
It doesn't connect at all. It's a shame. Blu tac is a good option. But yeah, you shouldn't have to do that. Its not a cheap figure. Even if it was it should stil connect. I mean after all this time and they are putting out figures like vader with sloppy craftsmanship. Apart from that helmet it's a fantastic figure. The helmet looks great. Just doesn't work. Never mind a shelf dive just looking at it wrong will cause it to jump off.
Thanks for the fair review on this, Lukeness. I can't believe you got this already!!! What are you a time traveler? A secret billionaire with a private jet and endless resources? Are you Iron Ness?
Thanks for the review. I watch the other Luke's review (Landspeeder Luke) amd he had the same problem with thr helmet. I was really hoping the helmet would stay on well but since it doesn't that's an immediate turn off. I just hope ESB Vader doesn't skyrocket in price now that this is out because he's my only hope. I doubt the battledamaged Vader pipelined doesn't use the ANH body but it probably will so that's another Vader I won't he getting. At least the new Maul looks promising and it's based on my favorite outfit of his (Rebels), he'll look nice next to Vader.
@@notamethadict if "shf" means SH Figuarts then I don't want to spend close to $100 for a slightly more complex action figure. I can barely offord $20 action figures as so $100 is out of the question.
@@RandoMan07 First of all, its 60 bucks. That is the going rate for most sh figuarts second of all the shf figure is significantly better in terms of looks and articulation
Just out of curiosity, is head swapping between Empire strikes back vader and this one possible? I like the wrist articulation on this one better, but the fact that the helmet doesn't sit properly is kinda a bummer.
I just got mine and am more than a little upset you can't have him hold the helmet the way the package shows because it doesn't peg in at all. And what's with the trigger finger, Hasbro??😂
I hope you don't think of yourself as too much of a Star Wars fan, otherwise you'd know that the actor who portrayed unmasked Vader in Return of the Jedi was Sebastian Shaw.
Should I buy this now at 45 bucks? Is the demand high and are they getting increasingly scarce? Is it limited edition? Do you guys think the price will go up or down? Help please 😅
I just opened mine and immidietly went to this video to see if the helmet is supposed to stay on and I'm just an idiot. Glad to know it's not just mine.
Tbh I wont be getting this fig, I don't own any Vader and I was excited when I heard it was on the ESB body but I hate figures that have helmets/accessories that don't fit on properly. I'm just going to go with the Kenobi Vader
That helmet is perfect....for a small child to swallow & choke on. But then again, lets be serious....the only people buying this as grown adults who still collect & play with toys 😂
Yes the SH Figuarts ROTJ does look better but the plastic skirt sux and limits the articulation. They have have rectified this on the upcoming SH Figuarts Kenobi figure by adding clothe skirts but that figure is lacking a Sebastian Shaw head which I really want in a definitive Vader.
So unfortunate that another ROTJ is ruined with the helmet. Itll be years again (if) we ever get another ROTJ vader. Just stop making him with the hemlet off

I feel like Vader's (technically Anakin's) expression should be more somber if the figure's representing RoTJ. He looks too angry! 😮
Why are his lenses red I thought they were supposed to be black
2:52 ok, that part's got me wondering if it's possible to give this guy the ESB head

Great review. Thanks for explaining and comparing it to the old vaders
If the helmet pieces don't fit properly, that's a shame. might miss it then

Plus the ROTS helmet is missing the silver parts and it's perfectly cemetrical

This is the 3rd review I have seen about the Vader and everyone is having a hard time with the helmet. Idk if I’m getting this one. Idk maybe
The question in my head is wether the helmet works better after being heated up so any packaging pressure curved in the pieces pop out?

One of the best Vintage Collection figures Hasbro has done. I still have to get Weequay from this wave.
Hi wow I love that figure it looks so cool compared to my old vader
And with the giveaway please add me in it it is my dream to take place in a giveaway 0:51
