The FBI get to close a cold case that cannot be prosecuted due to those involved are no-longer with the living. There are a lot of reasons that could happen. Children are often told they were saved from their parents, their parents didn't want them, or sold them. They also often told that their whole family is dead or criminal. They're brainwashed.
Who took the kid how did he live for all these years? Where did he live? Who are the people or the people dead? I would assume they probably are I don’t understand why they do these kind of stories and they leave way too many questions answered.
It’s entirely possible they don’t have a clear idea what happened and it’s also possible the guy is being protective of the people who raised him and won’t give out much info. And like the news story said whoever abducted him has since died so there wouldn’t be justice in the traditional sense. It’s still quite an amazing story even if they don’t have all the answers.
