As a Floridian, and an amateur gardener, all I can say is that I'm truly jealous. This is all very beautiful and I know for a fact how much love, time, care, and money that went into this. From Vero Beach with love.
I think what's happening here is that the covering ("Greenhouse") is protecting the plants normally sensitive to the Florida sun, but at the same time allowing enough rays past the material for photosynthesis.
Wouldnt solanum torvum as a rootstock be a good solution for people without his setup? And you could graft multiple nightshades onto it , tomatoes , peppers and eggplants all on a hardy rootstock I havent done it yet ( got too many other project going) but ive seen people with perineal tomatoes and eggplants on the same tree
Loved this segment can't wait for part 2. I bought a Pakistan mulberry plant from you over a year ago - it had taken off in a pot and I just had my 1st taste ever of the berries so sweet!!! Thank you! Growing zone 7b NY
Yeah, Pete... ? Mail a camera to Jim, ask him for an update of his Maine gardens and everything there... ? Meanwhile, sneak over and show us how his place is doing while he's away ? Are the sweet potatoes being used as ground cover per usual ? I've been busy enough w my garden here in WI... but not so busy I haven't wondered and wished... :) !
Really nice! Thanks for sharing, Pete, do you have a good source for compost in manatee county? And why the magic with greenhouse in fl? Love to learn more, good stuff thanks again!!
More seeds from Romania, please. I guess he's talking about communist years, when if you grow 3 pigs, one was for the "state". Nowadays the European Union doesn't allow you to grow animals like that. They have "standards" ...
The eggplants will lighten in colour when the ripen. They become dull in colour. They should be picked when they are shiny.
