Olu D is from Edo south and his deputy is from Esako, same tribe as Oshiomole, Shuaibu, Ojadome, Tenebe, Dan Orbi to mention a few
The Tribe of Oshiomole has been either Governor or deputy governor for the past 24 years. That is about to change. Esako people have only 3 local government areas and Edo for now is not ready for Esako either as governor or deputy governor anymore
His deputy will not enjoy the over inflated votes coming out of three local government areas, Esako east, west and central as in the era of Oshiomole
The Owan people with 3 other local government areas are not ready to go with Esako anymore as Deputy Governor Godwin Omobayo has mopped up the votes there for PDP

If Labour party had brought a credible candidate from Esan central who has capacity, people centric and upright I will push for LP ...for the case of rotation Asue ticks all the boxes ...he is from Esan central and has capacity ...for equity and fairness all votes should go to him
LP during the presidential election went for obi bc of equity and fairness why us the case not applied here...Edo south has held power for 8 years and olumide who is related to the governor and from Edo south wants to be governor and bc he is from LP we should give him the votes ...I say NO.
Your sentiments about the principle of rotation/equity in Edo state is understandable. However, a higher level of sophistication is required to make critical decisions at this time, because the Nigerian society is NOT built on ideology.
The PDP/APC candidates can be competent for all we care, but the strings of godfatherism and corruption in those parties will definitely put a cap on their performance in office. Little wonder Edo state is what it is today, even after many years of PDP/APC's dominance there.
So my advice to you and any anyone else who's being too emotional about this upcoming Edo gubernatorial election is to realign your priorities and vote for a candidate that will be accountable to the people. Say No to godfatherism! Take a cue from Abia state, at least.
Lastly, Obi did not get Edo people's support because of the sentiments of equity and rotation. He, himself never campaigned around that narrative. They only supported him massively, because of his track record of competence, capacity and accountability in office.

If it were by region, Esan central should've been largely developed, having produced 3 ministers of works, thus far.
What is instructive here is: when you see a golden opportunity to better your life, take it! PDP was not ideal for Obi. However, when the opportunity to run on a platform with lesser friction came, he did not hesitate to maximise it. And yes, I would've still supported Obi, as a PDP candidate, because he's still the best out of the pack; whilst still being aware of the fact that his full potential wouldn't be realised there; having to answer to godfathers and the likes.
@@Chris_92 I am not deflecting ...rotation brings about balance, equity and maintains the relationship...this is the reason of the ethnic baiting in our politics today ...The only reason obi left PDP was bc he knew clinching the presidential ticket was nearly impossible there and he had support for the general populace and he tested that popularity with another party...In Edo we want that balance...olumide is a good candidate but Asue is also a good candidate and he ticks the box for that balance as well ...olumide is a relative of the present governor and both are from Edo south ...it doesn't make sense if Asue can also do a very good job in my opinion ...
