I know when I went to the Philippines for the first time I felt the same way, it will open your eyes to a whole new meaning of life itself. Makes you think of how good we have it back home. Great video!
I'm from Eastern Europe, near the Balkans. I live in Hungary but have traveled a lot to Romania and I think South American countries (Colombia and Venezuela excluded) wouldn't feel like a downgrade for me. In fact, I think I'd feel much better there than here because of the weather and the people. Healthcare here is very much 3rd world, I've seen videos of African countries having nicer hospitals than Hungary. If you want to have a surgery and it's "non-emergency" you have to wait years. I've seen people getting appointments in 2030, 2040, and these are older people. I live in a rural area; people especially older men are miserable. If you're an older man in Hungary working a minimum wage job, chances are you're an alcoholic. The minimum pension is $84. Many pensioners get around $300. VAT is 27% on every product. Heating is expensive. The price of groceries has skyrocketed. Even Germany and Italy are cheaper. We go to Romania every month to get stuff that's expensive here. Our heating bill costs about 50% of my Mom's monthly salary. Hungary has been ruled by one person, one party for 14 years now. There are only a handful of independent news sources left. Everything is in the hands of the oligarchs. In Romania, for example, I saw an elderly lady lying on the streets and having her arm stretched out asking for money. Someone put her there, if you give her money, she won't keep it. They'll take her money. In Budapest, Kelenfold Railway Station the gateway to Lake Balaton and Western Europe, there's a family with kids. The parents send the kids to approach strangers to buy them pizza. Now they've instructed them to try and steal whatever they can. I think living in rural Brazil for example is much better than rural Hungary if you're the average person.
Welcome to Ecuador... I hope you enjoy and learn bout our culture! I'm 100% sure that will be a reveal expirience for you and your life. See you soon mate!
Ecuador is not a third world country mate, but upper-middle income. By the looks if your reaction, if you lived in a true third world country you’d have a meltdown
It's significantly poorer and is vastly different to most countries I've been to due to low income. Regardless of what you see online- the reality here is very different, much more third-world than first.
