If anyone is thinking what a parting glass is, it's also known as a stirrup up cup, in Scotland and England, this cup hung from the side of the hirse and was used to accept a drink before and after a long hunting journey specifically fox hunting that's why it's called the parting glass. This song is originally from the Scottish borders where this tradition was common practice.
The song obviously eventually became sung in Scottish pubs but Auld Lang Syne stole it's parting mantle.

Oh wow, did I hear a bit of the Irish in your voice? I'm a superfan of Celtic Woman, and Eabha McMahon sings this with the authentic lilt and I heard that in this too. I just *loved* this!!!! This is where you write me off as a crazy old lady, but I think you have very pure and gentle energy, a lot of light. It's beautiful, and your light shines. I don't know what the song would be, but I would love to see you and the Hollens do a cosplay song. I think you are magical in the good sense, and soooo very very gifted! Thank you for covering this!

I do not know if he (Hound or Peter) are from the mother land, but I think it does not make a difference to me. Lilt away! I have much of the Irish blood in me, as well as Welsh and a plethora of interesting mixes, and I lilt during this song.

Such a beautiful cover, I have only known this song from Ed Sheeran's "Give me love", so this was nice and refreshing! I loved the A Capella part in the beginning and it was even more amazing with the instruments kicking in. @@reesestevenson5492 Yep, it's very traditional. Especially at Irish/Scottish events and funerals at the end of them. In fact there is the Annual Irish Fair in my state of Minnesota and I frequently volunteer at it, anyway generally on the last day of it when things are being packed up and people are leaving until next year it is played.

Just an incredible rendition of this song that I usually hear at a much quicker pace...but wow...got chills with that intro. Just wow...
Cool. It was really good. The male sang solo well but changed the melody. It's kinda not a good idea. Try do that with Beethoven and see the reactions. The composer looked for the best note. All this patreon is the first thing spoken and it's a bit. Fine singing and nice voices.
