60% of my ride will be for commutes. Another 40% will be on a highway. I go on long distance trips around twice a month which is around 2 to 3 hour ride. I like Naked bike. If you were me, would you get a a naked one or a sport one? R3 or MT 03 or G 310 R?
Like the video. Interesting point on breaking distances. My thoughts: in real life breaking distance on bikes is probably longer then cars, lot less rubber on the road, less skill involved with breaking in a car.
+RnRinc1 I think there is also something to do with mass of the object trying to stop. Sometimes if I don't drive a car for a few weeks and get back in it I end up braking really close to the other cars because I'm used to short stopping distance on a bike. It's funny to see the passengers reaction. LOL
Very good enjoyed that a lot! I'm 63 riding my lasts-forever Super Black bird. I too think bikes brake better than cars-some bikes anyway. Luv that SV 650 . Keep on keeping on. Subbed.
+john harris Thank you for watching! Super sport tourer in the Blackbird. I don't think I've ever seen one in the US, probably never offered. The SV650 alas is gone, replaced by what I consider a spiritual predecessor, a FZ-09 or MT-09. Depending on the country you're from.
I'm tired of all these this-kind-of-motorcycle vs. that-kind-of-motorcycle debates/comparisons. The fact is there are 2 basic kinds of motorcycles -- motorcycles that double as nuclear submarines, and those that don't. All motorcycles are in the latter category. Can we agree on that?
awesome video bud. You hit the nail on the head. I have been comparing a Yamaha r1 to a fz1 which has the same exact engine except its "detuned" I have noticed it has less compression and I read it has a different cam and heads for more mid range torque. But the riding position is so much better.
You are a little confused with your terminology here... 'naked' is a characteristic of a motorcycle, not a 'type' of motorcycle. You compare 'naked' bikes to 'supersport' bikes, when you can have a 'naked supersport'.
+JaredPlaysGames .P The difference between a naked bike and a 'faired' bike (as in a bike with fairings, whether it's a sportbike, supersport, or whatever) is wind resistance, price, and look. That's it. It has no affect on the engine, suspension, brakes, etc. There are naked sportbikes, and faired bikes of other categories than the sportbike. I believe you are mistaken on what you think a 'naked' bike strictly is. You really are just talking about bikes that are supersports and that are lesser expensive and dangerous/powerful/more comfortable sport bikes. You barely even mention wind resistance. It'd make much better quality videos to be familiar with your facts..
Fairing styles are always changing. Naked bikes are timeless.
Well said.
hahaha but why do you have a mile long mic cable on the ground?? hahahah
+BLDH I'm such a scrub right? LOOOOOL
You gave a surprisingly good explanation of the differences. Nice videos.
+Austin R. i know right? Thanks for checking the vid out.
We're bike twins. I love my SV650! Also, great explanation and video.
Love this!! I never knew these differences!! Just thought they were prettier!

I'd prolly get something with a windshield if you are on the highway that much.
PistnRods will it be better if I buy the windshield for my naked bike instead then?
small flyscreen solves those problems on naked
Duke 390!
Good video. Is a Z650 a good bike I'm thinking about getting it?
i wish i had seen this video when i was starting out!! :D
Does the different position you sit on the bike make it more comfortable to ride for longer periods of time?
Kino hell yeah. That’s why I want to get a naked for commuting around my city.
Great vid, I like naked bikes it is allot easier to get at things and plastics are expensive to replace..
+Smalltownhooligan 1 Gotta love those 5min oil changes right? Thanks for checkin out the viddy.
you wear any levis jeans or a black leather biker type jacket??
I just subbed because you used the correct terminology in caaling your bike a "standard." *Ahhhhh...*
Haha thanks bud. Glad to have you aboard!

Thank you very much it's good to know the difference, and you explain it very well
what do you think of the new Yamaha fz10? detuned or comfort sporty bike?
I think it's $1-2k too much, but a bad ass bike.
naked is practical,fairing is sexy
gotta love them naked bikes. every "sport" bike that ive had has been naked at one point or another
+Squid WithGear That build is coming along nicely. And you're healing up like Wolverine. Quick!
Take it with a grain of salt. 1:49
Good vid bro!
+Rlindagem thanks dood!

Are you really gonna put Sport bike and Cruiser/Chopper into a same category?
I habe the same bike mine is black 01 sv650
+Juan Cortes and it looks badass too!
+PistnRods I'm changing the brake and clutch levers and the driver pegs with lever and I have the seats re done. they are fun.
+Juan Cortes I've done all those things by crashing and fixing 😄
This is why I need to get on a sports bike just to see if u could cope with the position haha.
+TheSpikeyBiker my arms are short so my belly is always touching the tank lol

+Wheels and Bullets Thanks d00d! If I was to pick between the two I'd go FZ. It would just suit my riding style better. Both bikes are amazing.
Anyone can tell me what is the meaning of naked??
A naked bike looks like a super sport bike, except it is not wearing any fearings. Like the video says the pegs and handlebar are in a different spot.
If I say naked sport bikes are more like modern cafe racers.... would that be wrong?
Baby hands lol
the cable is really annoying to watch

neither, get a dual sport, or supermoto.
