I kind of wish you acknowledged that Bob and Bill episode 2 was actually following the same plotline of Breen Gets Pranked, just from a different perspective.
Three things I think you should mention: 1. Breen gets pranked is not the first time a HL2 map is used. Kleiner's Challenge 1 is set in an HL2 map. 2. The glitchy noises at 18:49 are what happens when Source tries to call a sound file that doesn't exist. 3. Ever since the zombiekiller video, all of the uploads have been auto-uploaded, with no footnotes from the uploader.
All arg and creepiness aside, bob and bill, and Kliener’s challenges should be an actual series Edit: the message at 54:35 says “when they call u arg boy”
Something interesting that you didn't mention: the 'disconnect' button at 5:25 goes from the unselectable gray to white just before the distortions happen and the black figure appears. If I recall correctly, this means it's somehow gone from a singleplayer session to a multiplayer one. I don't remember if there were any other times the game was paused before the weird stuff starts happening, but the disconnect button is always white when it's paused afterwards. It's a little 'blink and you miss it', but I think it might be a relevant clue to the newer videos.
Wow! thats a great catch im assuming this doesnt happen in modern gmod (or i am blind/unaware) because with my 8000 hours i feel like i would have noticed that
nope, the disconnect button can also be used on singleplayer sessions if you dont want to quit the game and just want to go back to the main menu source: literally the game
What I think is happening here, is that the dark figure is a player, that sees the other player as also a dark figure. In the video on gm_dancefloor, (which wasn't covered here), the player enters a secret hallway, similiar to gm_graveyard. What I believe is happening here, is that 2 *completely different* players entered their respective hallways at the same time, and became ghosts in eachother's games. I don't have any idea on how would this tie into the lore of Gmod9fan, as this completely turns the established connections on their heads. But one thing is ceratin, dark hallways (which appear on both channels) are very important, and can even transport players and entities between games.
@@wolfyxqy9172 Maybe, but I'm not too keen on that theory. To me it just sounds a bit... corny I guess? I don't know, sounds a bit too simple after all the ingeniuity this series introduced. This still begs the question, that if It's a different player, then how is the video on the same channel? This is still left to solve, as It's suposed to be an archive of a *single* person. I don't know, we'll have to wait for next videos
I honestly hate the people who mock channels like this for being shadow man story but don't bother to actually hear people out, this channel is something special and shouldn't just be seen as a boring generic horror channel Edit: the amount of replies proving my point of people not listening is so sad, you are not fun to talk to, please leave
Most of those people barely even watch the videos and only mock the channels to trend hop. Heck I don’t even think the shadow guy is even the main villain of this ARG. Isn’t cheaple the main villain
I personally like these types of channels but i understand its not for everybody. I can see why people just see these as silly low effort content...but theres a charm to it for me atleast
I love the sad half life area video, specifically for the part where they say "theres 2 beds...... but one body.... *but then you realise theres actually another one you forgot about...."* It alludes to someone that this person is forgetting. The shadow person.
@@AkumuVids i think they do, but i think the op of this thread is acknowledging the specific wording choice and how it might be alluding to the spooky happenings
One small thing I love is that the player is OBVIOUSLY a fan of Paper Mario due to how often its music shows up in his actual machinimas. Just a neat little bit of character detail, makes him more realistic since I'd absolutely use music from a classic childhood game in my machinimas.
I don't care how overdone it is, I love these dark figure series and living NPCS stuff. Anything that has to do with a game that's not what it seems is gold!
It can get overdone but there's something especially creepy about "living" npcs. We, the players, are used to being able to control what goes on in a game to dofferent extents. When a game like Gmod (one where the player is basically playing God) has something that is more powerful than the player's control, it's very unnerving
I love these videos sometimes lol it's super unnerving at nighttime when your alone, they almost seem cringe when it's day out and people are around but when it's dark and your by yourself they hit the hardest and that's the art of it
I grew up as a teenager watching “random” Gmod videos back in 2006 and I have to say that the guy absolutely nailed the aesthetic. The WMM instructions, the music choices, the visible trails from the physgun, having NPCs randomly flail their arms using thrusters until everything around them breaks as a punchline… Even the framerate seems authentically twitchy at times. It’s all so perfect, and adds a real edge of believability that these genuinely are reuploads of some teenager’s explorations into a bizarre Gmod rabbit hole.
I feel like the "Hl2 cool sad area" video was made as an allegory for something that happened to GM personally, or what might something that happened in Bob and Bill. There's plenty of sad, depressing moments in HL2, but I think that one in particular stuck out to him, because of what happened to him personally; that's why he went the extra mile of recording it, and uploading it on UA-cam.
Jeez now that I think about it gmod is not that scary but with the internet and community make it more scary then it’s supposed to be and I’m glad that gmod is getting recognized not just for the fandom but for people across the world.
Have you never played gmod single player? Might just be me but before I knew other people found gmod scary and made it scary I was paranoid as fuck in sandbox singleplager
14:35 my guess is that he removed the video because it's stand out too much comparing to the previous uploads and would feel less believable. While the other videos plays on subtlety, this particular one screams "paranormal shit" right away right in the face. Also it could not stick with the whole plot of Classic Gmod Videos, as you said, non canon.
41:44 Bill didnt kill anyone (atleast I think so). Remember the Dr. Breen prank video? Well if you look closely you can see that Dr. Breen was sitting on the bench on the background and when Bob was entering the building we could see how Bill was going to him. And we actually can see how Breen is puking when bob leaves the building
25:00 The earlier Kliener Challange videos used a HL2 level, the entrance to the apartment block, specifically the playground outside they you walk through before getting chased up the apartment.
I imagine the creator's friend Scizzy just chasing him irl around their neighbourhood anytime they see each other in order to ask about the gm_construct pond/darkroom.
How the “ghostrider” thing was made is when back in the day in gmod 9 there was this tool called “ignite” what the player did is spawn an npc or a ragdoll and ignited it in the dark room.
This project and recap are both great. There are 2 details that I love about how it creates a feeling of something being wrong. How the abyss pond exists, and blocks the viewmodel of the player, eventually leading to concrete footsteps. All things that are possible in the game but should NOT be happening where they are. And, I love how the flaming skeleton appears OVER the quit confirmation box, again something that has no reason it should be unable to happen in a game, but really really should not be occurring how it is. You're right, this project is very subtle in its scares
I was literally about to come down here to point that out - the flaming thing appearing over the menu - it's simply so fucking impossible due to the basic nature of pause menus appearing over a game and feels like something you'd see in a nightmare just before you wake up in a cold sweat I also feel like it's scarier to leave the actual threat completely unknown, in my mind the "skeleton" effect could be caused by flame particles spawning all over the thing's model, leading to silhouette distortions, but that's just my attempt to turn it back into an unknown instead of a """"spooky""" flaming skeleton i guess
This really reminds me of when I was a kid and I would play minecraft looking for herobrine and get myself tensed up and scared over something that doesn't exist. In that way I really relate to the protagonist in this, and thinking how scared I would be to actually be in that situation.
My Theory is that : Scizzymeister is trying to scare the player by hacking into his computer or something, That could explain why scizzy found out about the commands, the radio and whould explain glitches. The videos also have a really weird thing with them, that there's always 2 of something, 2 cops by the door, Bob and bill 2 protagonists, gman and keliner 2 characters interacting with eachother, gman and the zombie town guy 2 performers, 2 people living in the outskirts in hl2. There's 2 players, what do other people think about this theory?
also most of the videos have a part 2 and the 2 beds in 49:28 edit: scizzymeister helped cgmv at 42:55 but i think he's still messing with cgmv like you said, thats why he knows everything another edit: what if scizzy IS the dark dude but on cgmv's computer, that would explain the "hacking" you talked about
Something note about the weird glitchy sound near the end of "pondabyss" is that by where the audio is and from when Classic GM Videos starts sprinting... *Something is chasing them.*
Another video from our beloved Richter, at evening... Damn, it is such a great atmosphere, listening to your voice, while you are showing, describing, or overall talking about something. You are an awesome person, glad I found your channel long time ago, when all that ARG situation was on a peak Btw, Richter Overtime ASMR when?
I really appreciate you showing us the deleted video because it genuinely looks so damn creepy having no flashlight and seeing a burning figure out of nowhere. I agree with you, best ARG clip yet.
This arg in peculiar sent a chill down my spine on the first note of the shadowy figure. Probably because it was combined with the source feel that you get by playing by yourself.
Good Evening Richter. I see you were able to pump out an Hour long Video describing one of the most Popular oldest Gmod ARG in 8 days from your last video is impressive considering you have two channels to maintain. Respect.
I love the aspect of using the spooky figure in the background way later down the line to show a random table in the background. I'm not exactly sure what the same place same time aspect has to do with anything, but it's pretty cool.
I love GMod ARGs for some reason. I can't fully explain why, but maybe because I like seeing old gameplay footage and also like ARGs in general. Another great video!
41:52 this is particularly interesting to me, when this distortion is fully-kicking in there appears to be the shadowy figure _in_ the distortion on the bottom-left, and then after the fade it almost appears as if the metro cops actually SEE it and are frightened by it, both looking directly at it, one brandishing their stunstick while on the ground appearing like they are trying to back away, and the other seeming to have already made some distance and hugging the wall behind them. not sure if this was actually intended or not, but i still think this is a very interesting few seconds of this video also 1B might mean that the og bob & bill pilot episode is "1A", ie they are the "A" plot and these metro cops were the "B" plot for the same episode 52:18 ok, how did you _not_ notice the very clear green rocket/bullet or whatever that is that made those weird eyeballs appear?? wtf is up with that?? it also appears that the player didnt notice this at all either, as they dont react to it at all. its prolly some kind of video distortion that happened when all the other video files got corrupted, but still, this is so weirdly specific for a corrupted video EDIT: about the A and B plot thing, it does appear that this is the case considering the newest upload is called bob & bill mini 3b. so while episode 3 was happening, 3b with Breen was happening at the same time.
what looks like a green smg grenade might just be another tool the player was using that looked different in gmod 9 like how the camera in the pond exploration video looked like a green tinted tv
@@clownmodius well the thing is that they didnt _do_ anything to bring that tool out, it didnt really _do_ anything but make those weird green eyeballs, and it clearly came off from the side first, traveled to the left, and "exploded" or whatever, and didnt come from the player lol im pretty sure its suppose to be another example of the video corruption, but this one seems so clean and explicitly done that it seems almost completely deliberate, which indicates to me that whatever entity is causing all these issues also may have been deliberately corrupting his video files.
yeah, on garry's mod 9, one of the 4(?) cameras that are available, one being the handheld one, similar to the one in gmod13, etc, but the SMG *is* without a doubt a camera, i'll update this when i figure out the rest.
@@kleinerhalflife my biggest question is how are they moving it without appearing to really do anything? not using physgun, there does not appear to be any thruster, did these cameras just have movement controls for them back then?? they also all disappear, once again without the player really appearing to do anything, is there suppose to be a button that just makes them invisible??
One thing i realized about the videos is that the gman videos have stopped being made instead being replaced with the bob and bill episodes. And another thing i noticed is that gman seemed to be pretty liked by the player, being the first character in his videos and being the first character to appear in several of classic gm video’s older videos
These videos perfectly utilize the dread a lot of gmodders felt when playing the Single Player. That certain unease when you're alone in a map and you get the feeling of something watching you.
48:36 the first time I played half life 2 I remember chilling around that small area showed on the video, it is indeed very peaceful, but i never stopped to realize that little story behind it
why does seeing this feel so familiar. like it feels so familiar to see specifically rector overtime covering this channel yet this video only came up 4 days ago and yet my mind remembers me watching this last year... damn deja Vu do be hitting me right now.
Odd that I swear I watched all of these WAY before they were uploaded... it's such an incredibly weird feeling when you feel like something has already happened before... been having that a lot with maps I never played before, heck even on other games and yet at some point it feels like... it happened long before yet that is impossible. Do wish this stuff were real and in more video games, imagine how much FUN and JOY people would have being haunted to shit!
I have the exact same feeling but with the half life 2 radio Easter egg in Nova prospect. I swear I've seen the exact same video before and it's really messing with me. Maybe these videos were actually uploaded during 2007 - 2009 and they're much older than we think they are? There actually was another video like this but about portal 1, it was a secret room hidden behind some crumbling walls the player could destroy. Can't find it anymore but I swear it existed. Very freaky.
My theory is that these videos actually are as old as the creator is claiming them to be and these are actual re-uploads. This horror series might be that old, yes. Or perhaps the creator actually had these old videos uploaded somewhere, took them down to re-upload and sprinkled in some horror to freshen them up. Because I swear I've seen half of these before. The half life 2 nova prospect radio, the elevator tutorial, the endless pond, the gm_graveyard secret, I've seen these before. Just without the scares.
It's worth noting that some channel pre-Google+ had their banners and profile pictures turned to blank white images if they didn't merge with the services before it was eventually shut down.
Something I wish you mentioned on the deleted video was how the burning skeleton had actually burned through the menu, and was visible through the quit game box, like it was far beyond escapable through just quitting the game.
Scizzy: hey wanna download this cool mod i made? CGV: oh yeah sure, what's in it? Scizzy: its a gun i made to be op CGV: heck yeah lets play with it *CGV doesn't know that Scizzy is trolling him* CGV: hey what's that figure? Thats scary, let me just close this off ---------------------------------------------- Theory: maybe he just downloaded some random mod from his friend
@@wrigglenight93 i don't think someone would be able to make a mod that can spawn random shit made out of props that are perfectly set up and edit the map itself in 2006, something nobody was able to do in current times
my theory: The fact there is two in everything and they are opposites all the time but they always go near each other, the murderer with gman, Bob and Bill are basically different but are friends, and the shadow man follows the player
Classic GM videos was the first channel I've heard about so called gmod horror and I'm glad it's still the only one with the true air of mystery surrounding it. It's the only one that never showed who's behind of it and still try to keep that feeling of "authencity" as in keeping pretending it's not a horror gimmick. It's exactly what makes such horror gimmicks work. Blessed be this person.
By the way, in the background of the scene where Bob is entering the food ration building (the close up), we see Bill running off to the left, and Breen on a bench. I can only assume the distortion in B&B:2 would happen at the same time as, or right before, Bill poisons Breen in "breen gets pranked". When the two cops are beating on Bill, Breen is seen vomiting, and (right as Bob throws the box and it hits a Metrocop) Breen is seen running in the background, in the same place (and in the same poses) as the final few shots from "breen gets pranked". I know it's obvious if you're a bit observent, but Richter Overtime did not mention this. (also sidenote i kinda wanna see B&B as a full series itd be cool i think)
Bill was the one who pranked Breen. That’s why he’s getting beat up by the metropolice in the episode. You even see breen throwing up in the background in the episode !
17:18 The reason why he is going backwards torwards the dark room is because he has a fast zombie right infront of him (i can tell by the speed and animations, due to the corruption moving at the same pace as a normal Fast Zombie in gmod.)
4:30 If you've listened to Famous Last Words quite a bit, you can actually notice the song seems to skip in the zombie killer 2 video, it's a small detail but I felt that it should be pointed out
I think this might be one of those horror ideas where the player sees themselves in the future and doesn't know it. The final video near the end where everything goes dark and the doors get barricaded by those container walls that are used a lot in gmod explains this because one of the videos near the start had the player boarding up the same room he was stuck in in the final video. But that's just a theory ( :
only gmod stuff I watched was similar to if not kitty0706 and boshitt I was really creeped out by engineer when people would make his face look like the Grunt from Amnesia: The Dark Descent and that engineer was always like unkillable in the videos he was in left a shiver in my spine.
A few things to note as well: ever since the original Zombie Killer video was uploaded, the actual creator has been conspicuously silent. Looking at the descriptions of every video since then there is no "modern" commentary like in the earlier videos, and they also say that the videos are being "automatically uploaded". Additionally in the "half life 2 cool sad area" the dead civilian is the same model as Bill, possibly implying that Bob & Bill were the ones who died there. And lastly there is a shocking parallel in the first Bob & Bill video where Bill blocks Bob into the bathroom, much like the player has blocked the shadow figure into the garage spawn room.
In the "cool sad area" it seems like he's lost something and is coping by shifting the loss onto the fictional pair of friends who died in the events of HL2. It should be noted that Scizzymeister is never mentioned again after pos.avi is uploaded before the "cool sad area" video, implying he somehow lost Scizzy to the dark room entity. Bob and Bill likely represent him and Scizzy, as they both stand before the dark room in the "hl2" video. In the deleted video, his player model is either Bob or Bill (it's a little hard to tell), implying Scizzy is the other one. Something clearly is going wrong here, and we might want to consider the gmod9fan channel as potentially linked to this.
@@alpacalover0 I personally dont really think gmod9fan is related in any way, as there haven't really been any particularly clear references or indications of any connection. I have a feeling there is more going on with the "player", particularly with his seeming absence since the re-upload of the original Zombie Killer video, as well as a significant stylistic shift in the machinas we have seen uploaded since then. Particularly the shift from primarily physgun moved ragdolls to stop-motion esque stills. If Bob & Bill are analogous to the player and schizzy, it'd be curious to figure out which one represents whom, and thus also, if the two dead individuals in the cool sad area are indeed Bob & Bill, which one died and which one turned into a zombie.
@@Kamerad_Matto Mhm. It's mostly just a hunch for gmod9fan and Classic GM Videos being connected, but the latter did start uploading a little while before the original came to an end. As for Scizzy and Classic GM being who Bob and Bill represent, I'm 90% positive. The "cool sad area" video has him staring at the 2 mattresses for a very long time and being visibly upset. With Bob and Bill, the original episode started with one of them lying on a mattress. The "HL2" Gmod video was the one providing the most connection as we saw Bob and Bill oddly on gm_construct instead of the City 17 map, even though they live in the HL2 universe.
as someone who used to play around on construct alone all the time and always explored every nook and cranny in and attempt to find something more, this video series makes me really happy and almost nostalgic to see. there's something about playing gmod alone that has a certain feeling to it even to this day.
oh yeah can i just say i appreciate your style in this video as well, showing the video in full before talking about it. something i've noticed other video essay type things do is they talk about videos/shows without showing it, but you balance the discussion of the video really well!
Imagine how much funnier it would be if in the first video the figure WAS a friend of the guy running classic gm videos who joined in at the wrong time (as he was making gman's day out) and that's why he was prop blocked.
My theory about the dark figure is similar to a comic I read many many years ago (cant remember the name). There was a guy who watched his pet get stolen by a demon of some short and chases it to get his pet back, after countless tortures he goes back into the overworld, goes to his pet and sees himself. He then proceeds to realise that he was that demon all along and the circle continues with his past self chasing after him.
It's crazy to me how many of this guy's videos I've seen while just browsing UA-cam. I legitimately thought these were all just Gmod shitposts. This one is good just for that alone
54:38 You mean you don't recognise music from the original Paper Mario on the Nintendo 64? Other tracks from the game are also used in more of Classic GM Videos' works, PM64 has a pretty distinct style of music so it's easy to recognise.
I love videos like this as I am a chicken shit pansy when it comes to horror. I can't deal with it well, but I find it incredibly interesting. You're channel allows me to skip the videos themselves but still get the same enjoyment from putting the pieces together and the like.
in all honesty, i dont care if the idea is used up. shadow figure? yeah ive seen it quite a lot, but do i care? no. as long as the arg is well put together, i absolutely love it
The Screenshot and Dumpster drop look to be ties to another gmod arg (gmod9fan reuploads) with the photo looking to have the cross from "how to crash a server easy in gmod 9" and the dumpster trap was shown in a tutorial by them as well.
I remember back then there were addons that would add these kind of things to your game like a dark figure that would watch you from afar it was added along as some addon for example like a one that adds new enemies its very creepy forgot the name of the addon and its probably lost to time now
True, but IIRC those kinds of more advanced addons like scripted NPCs came along later in Gmod's history. At the time of version 9, you mostly just had custom maps, props, and maybe a few janky SWEPs.
One thing that I think may be important is that the description of the first video refers to it as being "another adventure" for G-Man. This implies that there was another video prior to that one that wasn't uploaded (perhaps because the corruptions were too severe).
I think the shadow figure on Bob and Bill 2 is just "Pick up that can" guy. It'd make a lot of sense. Also, like the continuity on Bob and Bill. You can see Bill go sneak off from Bob, and Breen throwing up. It all adds up.
if i were to have a guess at why the deleted video was deleted it was probably a stylistic clash with the rest of the series. i like the video too but speaking as a creator with a severe problem with making sure everything is stylistically sound, I can imagine the video clashing with the rest of the series. its very early on and there's nothing too similar to the thing shown in the rest of the series - that being said i feel like the abyss in the lake falls into this same pothole, but i feel like that part is the series' strongest point just because of how uniquely unsettling and creative it is
Classic GM Videos feels like a more general exploration of the more unpleasant parts of times we otherwise enjoyed. There's plenty of the series that is mostly just taking a look back at the real early days of Gmod videos on youtube with some of the joy of recollection but there's always a lurking darkness simmering underneath in some form or another. The more outwardly paranormal events of this channel is this concept overtly personified but even videos like "HL2 Cool Sad Area" have this unshakable feeling that even in the "glory days" something might've just felt wrong or there was something unpleasant underlying the whole time, as though these glimpses of the early gmod golden years were just the silver lining to another otherwise depressing part of the uploader's life. I feel one could accuse Classic GM Videos of being unfocused but I feel the general end result resonates pretty well emotionally for me and I'm generally happy where it's sorta been going along.
i believe classic gm videos brings forward something that not many people begin to realize; common fear. i personally related the paranoia of the character, not wanting to delve into the darkness of the warehouse myself, whenever playing garry's mod on my own. it holds a feeling of representation, especially with the pondabyss exploration. (i was also too afraid to find the bottom, myself.) but not only that, i recognize the story they're trying to tell here. i do believe on some level, this relates to what you stated at the end of the video; "your greatest enemy is yourself". i believe that the shadowy figure isn't a real thing, and it is a figment of childlike imagination. it is this imaginary character where the main character begins to shut the shadowy figure out. by believing in this shadowy figure and fearing it, the main character continues to fear it in the future, which is why i believe video "b2" is supposed to be symbolic. there really was nothing there, except yourself. your own imagination.
My personal theory is that Scizzy either died or cut off ties with Classic GM and all or at least most of these anomalies are manifestations of that. Yet instead of trying to move on, GM just keeps trying to interact with Scizzy and eventually using the Bob and Bill series as a way to cope with what's happening. The dark figure could be the side of GM that just wants to move on but is basically pushed back into his mind or, might be a stretch, how GM views Scizzy, now as just a bystander or stranger. TL:DR GM is stuck in the past, both literally and metaphorically
46:19 "Setpos 2796 1646 20" Which has led Classic into a Dark room with Brick walls blocking Classic from escaping and a Huge Hole in the Floor. Man that must've been scary (note: I have made this comment before seeing the part which Richter explains on what happens with the numbers and room.)
These kind of videos scare the living crap out of me and its probably because as a kid myself i remember gmod creeping me the fuck out and i remember 13:37 this moment happening to me (being terrified of something and frantically trying to quit the game ASAP)
The music for the second to last video is the battle theme for Paper Mario iirc. The music for one of the early train station map videos is also from Paper Mario.
something I noticed while watching this is in bob and bill 2, the line that bill (or bob i cant remember) goes through, the person in the front stays there and its almost like bill is taking the pace of people in line as they disappear. heres the point where it happens: 39:00
You didnt talk about this but during the Bob and Bill Mini episode when the two metrocops are just chilling by the door, through the static you can see a dude wearing a suit, maybe gman? Idk aint got a clue
hmm, you know i had thought i had seen this video before, but I think I was wrong. The video I had seen was pretty clear about what the metafiction here likely was. Dead friend, ghost, now haunted. the one part where they show the one secret area from within the actual half life 2 game is a key corner stone of that theory
The music you mentioned at 54:40 is the battle music from paper mario on N64, actually a lot of the videos from classic gm videos have paper mario music. It's a great soundtrack, you should definitely give it a listen if you like that song!
My theory is that the player is sort of haunting himself. When he walks through both the hallways he sees a figure on either end before it cuts off, and whenever he walks into the same position the figure was in during B2 he sees the same setup in the Kleiner video before it cuts off again.

Was this also the case in gmod 9 or did you just check the recent version
So what you’re saying is, doors can act as RAT’s and accidentally put you on another player’s computer.

My man just doesn't care about the uneasy, unnerving, terror.
The authenticity is part of the terror. The fact that it feels natural only adds to the horror aspect.

I was literally about to come down here to point that out - the flaming thing appearing over the menu - it's simply so fucking impossible due to the basic nature of pause menus appearing over a game and feels like something you'd see in a nightmare just before you wake up in a cold sweat
I also feel like it's scarier to leave the actual threat completely unknown, in my mind the "skeleton" effect could be caused by flame particles spawning all over the thing's model, leading to silhouette distortions, but that's just my attempt to turn it back into an unknown instead of a """"spooky""" flaming skeleton i guess

There's 2 players, what do other people think about this theory?
also most of the videos have a part 2 and the 2 beds in 49:28
edit: scizzymeister helped cgmv at 42:55 but i think he's still messing with cgmv like you said, thats why he knows everything

Respect.
Good evening Mr.Freeman.

I love GMod ARGs for some reason. I can't fully explain why, but maybe because I like seeing old gameplay footage and also like ARGs in general. Another great video!
41:52 this is particularly interesting to me, when this distortion is fully-kicking in there appears to be the shadowy figure _in_ the distortion on the bottom-left, and then after the fade it almost appears as if the metro cops actually SEE it and are frightened by it, both looking directly at it, one brandishing their stunstick while on the ground appearing like they are trying to back away, and the other seeming to have already made some distance and hugging the wall behind them.
not sure if this was actually intended or not, but i still think this is a very interesting few seconds of this video
also 1B might mean that the og bob & bill pilot episode is "1A", ie they are the "A" plot and these metro cops were the "B" plot for the same episode
52:18 ok, how did you _not_ notice the very clear green rocket/bullet or whatever that is that made those weird eyeballs appear?? wtf is up with that?? it also appears that the player didnt notice this at all either, as they dont react to it at all. its prolly some kind of video distortion that happened when all the other video files got corrupted, but still, this is so weirdly specific for a corrupted video
EDIT: about the A and B plot thing, it does appear that this is the case considering the newest upload is called bob & bill mini 3b. so while episode 3 was happening, 3b with Breen was happening at the same time.
what looks like a green smg grenade might just be another tool the player was using that looked different in gmod 9 like how the camera in the pond exploration video looked like a green tinted tv
@@clownmodius well the thing is that they didnt _do_ anything to bring that tool out, it didnt really _do_ anything but make those weird green eyeballs, and it clearly came off from the side first, traveled to the left, and "exploded" or whatever, and didnt come from the player lol
im pretty sure its suppose to be another example of the video corruption, but this one seems so clean and explicitly done that it seems almost completely deliberate, which indicates to me that whatever entity is causing all these issues also may have been deliberately corrupting his video files.
i think you are right
yeah, on garry's mod 9, one of the 4(?) cameras that are available, one being the handheld one, similar to the one in gmod13, etc, but the SMG *is* without a doubt a camera, i'll update this when i figure out the rest.

One thing i realized about the videos is that the gman videos have stopped being made instead being replaced with the bob and bill episodes. And another thing i noticed is that gman seemed to be pretty liked by the player, being the first character in his videos and being the first character to appear in several of classic gm video’s older videos

Not too much of a stress considering the Keliner challenge videos were also filmed on a half-life map, and we saw no hints of the entity there.
These videos perfectly utilize the dread a lot of gmodders felt when playing the Single Player. That certain unease when you're alone in a map and you get the feeling of something watching you.
Can I just say Mr. Overtime that you are one of my favorite UA-cam channels thank you for all of the work you put into your videos.

Same!! Like the endless pool felt insanely familiar
It's worth noting that some channel pre-Google+ had their banners and profile pictures turned to blank white images if they didn't merge with the services before it was eventually shut down.
fard
Unless the creator did it intentionally as part of the whole kayfabe, I'm pretty sure that's not what happened, since the channel was made in 2018
Something I wish you mentioned on the deleted video was how the burning skeleton had actually burned through the menu, and was visible through the quit game box, like it was far beyond escapable through just quitting the game.

my theory: The fact there is two in everything and they are opposites all the time but they always go near each other, the murderer with gman, Bob and Bill are basically different but are friends, and the shadow man follows the player
Finally, a good subtle Analog Horror type scenario. Too many modern analog horror ARGs are in your face and meta.
Bill was the one who pranked Breen. That’s why he’s getting beat up by the metropolice in the episode. You even see breen throwing up in the background in the episode !
Damn I can't believe bob and bill was an arg thing, I remember watching it before I was into horror stuff so I didn't know anything was up
Bob and Bill is unironically the funniest show (of this quality) I've ever seen. It's honestly even funnier than some comedy shows.
17:18 The reason why he is going backwards torwards the dark room is because he has a fast zombie right infront of him (i can tell by the speed and animations, due to the corruption moving at the same pace as a normal Fast Zombie in gmod.)
4:30 If you've listened to Famous Last Words quite a bit, you can actually notice the song seems to skip in the zombie killer 2 video, it's a small detail but I felt that it should be pointed out
I love how gman just obliterates the guys stand for not selling a single item😂

You missed in the first expedition that something came out of the pond after he sees the buggy drops sinks straight down and the video cuts.
it's very short, but yeah, you canhear something exit the water just before the video cuts at 31:30
A few things to note as well: ever since the original Zombie Killer video was uploaded, the actual creator has been conspicuously silent.
The music for the computer video is the Paper Mario battle theme. A fair number of the songs they used are from the original Paper Mario
Sounds cool

Breen gets pranked is part of the bob and bill lore, as you can see in episode 2 breen sitting in a wooden chair and the other guy running

I feel one could accuse Classic GM Videos of being unfocused but I feel the general end result resonates pretty well emotionally for me and I'm generally happy where it's sorta been going along.
i believe classic gm videos brings forward something that not many people begin to realize;
common fear.
i personally related the paranoia of the character, not wanting to delve into the darkness of the warehouse myself, whenever playing garry's mod on my own. it holds a feeling of representation, especially with the pondabyss exploration. (i was also too afraid to find the bottom, myself.)
but not only that, i recognize the story they're trying to tell here. i do believe on some level, this relates to what you stated at the end of the video; "your greatest enemy is yourself".
i believe that the shadowy figure isn't a real thing, and it is a figment of childlike imagination. it is this imaginary character where the main character begins to shut the shadowy figure out. by believing in this shadowy figure and fearing it, the main character continues to fear it in the future, which is why i believe video "b2" is supposed to be symbolic. there really was nothing there, except yourself. your own imagination.
Ritcher the type of rapscallion to say "present" when the teacher asks for role
The shadow figure is probably his future self experiencencing this over and over again like a paradox loop
except these videos are posted by 2 different people
These kind of videos scare the living crap out of me and its probably because as a kid myself i remember gmod creeping me the fuck out and i remember 13:37 this moment happening to me (being terrified of something and frantically trying to quit the game ASAP)
there is one thing i do like about all these old school recreations and horror things. just how far we've come from 144/240/360p videos.
The "Half life 2 cool sad area" video might be related to "bob and bill" perhaps it's foreshadowing their fate.
The music for the second to last video is the battle theme for Paper Mario iirc.
The music for one of the early train station map videos is also from Paper Mario.
I like the fact that the player panics and quickly quits
something I noticed while watching this is in bob and bill 2, the line that bill (or bob i cant remember) goes through, the person in the front stays there and its almost like bill is taking the pace of people in line as they disappear. heres the point where it happens: 39:00
You didnt talk about this but during the Bob and Bill Mini episode when the two metrocops are just chilling by the door, through the static you can see a dude wearing a suit, maybe gman? Idk aint got a clue
52:00 I was waiting with high tension for one of them to just turn their head 180 degrees to look at the camera while paused
hmm, you know i had thought i had seen this video before, but I think I was wrong.
Murderer blatantly murders someone in broad day light, leaving all evidence behind and caught on 8k camera.
