I’ll say this, Pop didn’t use him correctly his last few years with the Spurs but to say those years were wasted? Most players never get a ring or even play for the ship Patty played for 2 and Won 1 of them with the Spurs…Not to mention years of good coaching & repetition of good ball movement. Played with Timmy, Manu, Parker, Kawhi, Derozan. That’s all experience and basketball IQ right there
Patty played a bit like this on the 12-13 and 13-14 Spurs. He had shoulder surgery the following year and went ice cold, otherwise Spurs might have finally done a back to back. His shot took a long, long time to come back and the team he played with saw Duncan, Ginobili and Parker retire as well as an underwhelming Aldridge and Kawhi bailing. A hard truth was he ended up being a defensive liability on a team struggling to find its identity for the reasons I gave above, and on nights his shot wasn't falling, man, it was tough on him. Did Pop use him to the best of his ability? No, not really, but there is much more context than him just being wasted. Anyway, to this Spurs fan he is one of my favourites. So I still catch his highlights (and by extension, Brooklyn's) and am delighted for the guy. Because of him, I find myself rooting more and more for the Nets to win it this year ... seeing as my Spurs haven't a prayer! lol

Wow! Talk about a Christmas game!! After a few weeks of covid protocols the Christmas games were looking like anything but joyous. Especially in the clash between Brooklyn and the Lakers in which they were missing Anthony Davis to an MCL injury and Brooklyn was missing big man Lamarcus Aldridge and MVP machine Kevin Durant. The nets though got some major reinforcements to help the blue collar boys Patty Mills and Blake Griffin such as the orchestrator James Harden returning to action, big time defenders Bruce Brown and DeAndre bembrey and vets James Johnson Paul Millsap and jevon Carter. But there were alot of question marks such as lack of energy, cohesion and precision. And The beard James Harden proved for the first three quarters that protocols were a mini vacation in which Harden was dominating in the beginning portion by getting his teammates grade looks and he was attacking the rim and driving his way past the veteran Lakers. This is the James Harden people want to see more of and just maybe protocols allowed harden to recharge and come out stronger and he did tonight. And Patty freaking Mills who is the top free agent signing of the 2021 off-season was a FORCE out there tonight. Patty showed off his versatility in the first quarter getting there pointers attacking the rim and skating past that opposition. Patty and Harden combined for 70 points!!! Patty especially though deserves alot of credit because all of his numbers this year are Career highs. He's essentially replacing the offense of both Joe Harris and Kyrie Irving which is ridiculous. But Patty wants to win and this was on a national stage and he took it up a few levels. And props to Bembrey Bruce and Johnson tonight who were playing crisp defense and had LeBron and Russel locked for most of the night. And Nic Claxton again asserted himself in this game by blocking multiple attempts at the rim by Russel and after Carmelo shoved Nics face he responded with a monster assist dunk from Harden onto the king LeBron and that was the ball game! Only negatives were that Harden ran out of gas in the fourth and he had to play alot of minutes to keep Brooklyn afloat. Other then that this wed a statement game and showed that the nets are not going to let covid ruin their rhythm. And now they move onto the Los Angeles clippers who minus kawaii Leonard just lost Paul George to s UCL injury on his elbow. Kevin Durant could return by Monday. Or Brooklyn could bring him back for their next game Wednesday. Either way Kevin Durant wants to play and the whole NBA about to get a wakeup call. Stay tuned 😎

Lakers were looking at him.. but i guess KD was able to sell the Nets to him during the Olympics.. Lakers will always be that 'star' team but the problem is most of the Lakers are passengers and rely too much on Lebron and Westbrook to get the job done. And even without KD or Kyrie Nets still played like a team.

I’ll say this, Pop didn’t use him correctly his last few years with the Spurs but to say those years were wasted? Most players never get a ring or even play for the ship Patty played for 2 and Won 1 of them with the Spurs…Not to mention years of good coaching & repetition of good ball movement. Played with Timmy, Manu, Parker, Kawhi, Derozan. That’s all experience and basketball IQ right there
Patty played a bit like this on the 12-13 and 13-14 Spurs. He had shoulder surgery the following year and went ice cold, otherwise Spurs might have finally done a back to back. His shot took a long, long time to come back and the team he played with saw Duncan, Ginobili and Parker retire as well as an underwhelming Aldridge and Kawhi bailing. A hard truth was he ended up being a defensive liability on a team struggling to find its identity for the reasons I gave above, and on nights his shot wasn't falling, man, it was tough on him. Did Pop use him to the best of his ability? No, not really, but there is much more context than him just being wasted.
Anyway, to this Spurs fan he is one of my favourites. So I still catch his highlights (and by extension, Brooklyn's) and am delighted for the guy. Because of him, I find myself rooting more and more for the Nets to win it this year ... seeing as my Spurs haven't a prayer! lol

Wow! Talk about a Christmas game!! After a few weeks of covid protocols the Christmas games were looking like anything but joyous. Especially in the clash between Brooklyn and the Lakers in which they were missing Anthony Davis to an MCL injury and Brooklyn was missing big man Lamarcus Aldridge and MVP machine Kevin Durant.
The nets though got some major reinforcements to help the blue collar boys Patty Mills and Blake Griffin such as the orchestrator James Harden returning to action, big time defenders Bruce Brown and DeAndre bembrey and vets James Johnson Paul Millsap and jevon Carter. But there were alot of question marks such as lack of energy, cohesion and precision. And The beard James Harden proved for the first three quarters that protocols were a mini vacation in which Harden was dominating in the beginning portion by getting his teammates grade looks and he was attacking the rim and driving his way past the veteran Lakers. This is the James Harden people want to see more of and just maybe protocols allowed harden to recharge and come out stronger and he did tonight. And Patty freaking Mills who is the top free agent signing of the 2021 off-season was a FORCE out there tonight. Patty showed off his versatility in the first quarter getting there pointers attacking the rim and skating past that opposition. Patty and Harden combined for 70 points!!! Patty especially though deserves alot of credit because all of his numbers this year are Career highs. He's essentially replacing the offense of both Joe Harris and Kyrie Irving which is ridiculous. But Patty wants to win and this was on a national stage and he took it up a few levels.
And props to Bembrey Bruce and Johnson tonight who were playing crisp defense and had LeBron and Russel locked for most of the night. And Nic Claxton again asserted himself in this game by blocking multiple attempts at the rim by Russel and after Carmelo shoved Nics face he responded with a monster assist dunk from Harden onto the king LeBron and that was the ball game!
Only negatives were that Harden ran out of gas in the fourth and he had to play alot of minutes to keep Brooklyn afloat. Other then that this wed a statement game and showed that the nets are not going to let covid ruin their rhythm. And now they move onto the Los Angeles clippers who minus kawaii Leonard just lost Paul George to s UCL injury on his elbow. Kevin Durant could return by Monday. Or Brooklyn could bring him back for their next game Wednesday. Either way Kevin Durant wants to play and the whole NBA about to get a wakeup call. Stay tuned 😎
