I dont know if I'd give up Knecht for Kessler. DK is still growing, You would have to treat DK as more valuable than a 1st round pick. Most draftees aren't playable in NBA games at all their first season. A rotation w good defense can compensate. Including him in a trade, it has to be an absolute game game changer
11:48 Dalton should absolutely NOT be traded - we need to develop our good young players for a change. Especially not for any players over 30 such as Bogdanovich - we'd regret that for years.
And Lu Dort? Marcus Smart? LOL Are you guys drunk tonight? Smart is complete trash on offense - he's a HORRIBLE shooter. Malik Monk and Cam Thomas probably.
I'm pretty sure LA not getting Sharpe in the Nets deal was an LA decision. I mean why the hell would they go after what they have needed most for 3 damn years? REBOUNDING
Lol the love affair with Dalton is crazy. He had a couple of great games in November and everyone went crazy. December and January trash because teams started guarding him.
First off my thoughts and prayers to those effected. Secondly though, worst possible time to have a homestand. Can only push so many games back b4 it starts to hurt the back half of our schedule would rather the open dates be practices.
Sick analysts, how do you have youth players if your best draft pick trades to old player like DK to old man you are suggesting??? Lakers should not trade DK, he is the only future to the franchise, the rest of them are old not part of the franchise future.
It terrible for fire effects the people. Maybe military should use the air craft carriers to house the people that lost there housing...or 😢...pray for people that need 🙏. Where the governor of California in all this fire tragedy...
25:00 I'd pick the Lakers in a 7 game series against OKC - they're a great regular season team but I have a strong feeling that they won't be nearly as good in the playoffs when the game slows down and the defense picks up. And having Holmgren back will make a pretty big difference but Caruso is an insignificant scrub, especially this season - he's shot horribly.
@wills.9422 I wouldn't say we've gotten worse - we have pretty much the same team as last season. We've just had more injuries to role players (Vando and Wood in particular).
With how badly and inconsistent AD has been playing of late, the Lakers need a starting big to play with him...otherwise AD is going to let them down in the playoffs
They say that they're far away from the Cavs and Thunder. But didn't they beat them both last season? No one knows what'll happen the rest of the season but better basketball should be coming. Wood and Vando could make a difference in the final outcome. Even if they add someone in the fold whether trade or buyout the same factor remains...health. Just keep them whole and healthy for the playoffs. Its all that really matters. If you look at the last 2 seasons, they've been better after the All Star break and been one of the hottest teams going into the postseason. Let the top seeds burn themselves out by keeping that pace while veteran teams conserve their best for when it really counts. They've played all this season without arguably their most vital player behind Bron and AD and theyre still in the thick of it. This team whole and healthy is potent enough to beat anyone. They gotta pace themselves, stay the course, build that chemistry, avoid the play-in, and beat 4 teams 4 times. When it matters, you need 16 wins, 2023-8wins then swept by Denver, 2024-only 1 and again by Denver. 2025-?? but thats 2 playoff runs with most of these dudes. They'll look alot different in the the second half of the season and even more in the playoffs.
It better to trade for Lonzo than Bruce Brown but, it also depends on who you trade. I think the problem trading for Lonzo is he’s making too much for how he is now in unless you’re salary dumping. The bulls are trying to tank so I guess it perfect.
When y’all say so far away from those stop teams. I think Rob knows that as well. So 2 picks might now be enough honestly. Specially with prices so high. Look walker will cost us the 2 picks and then what. We would need a donavon Mitchell level player plus a big truthfully. Fox at the worst but 2 picks aren’t enough. An they would want Austin which would be a step back at the other guard spot
Sharpe and N Richards should be the secondary choices if first choice dont pan out. Kessler is defo 1st choice. It NEEDs to be a focus on Defense, NOT on offensive end. So no backup bigs that whose strengths are NOT rebounding, rim protection, defense, and a bruiser physicality and mentality. No distraction towards 3 point shooting, that is NOT the primary need of the Big on this Lakers roster. Do not need more dead Wood.
You clamored for DFS and we lost to Mava…. Get it right Trevor, that shouldn’t have been the priority trade at all. Lakers need a legit center and a go to scorer especially down the stretch. The league is filled with players who are fearless now. In the heyday of Kobe, he was that guy. Every other team feared him.
40:40 What? LOL Those are average-at-best role players - Rui was a top 10 draft pick. And Day'Ron Sharpe would be the #15 player on any good team - he's a scrub.
Why are we so trying to get players like Cam Thomas when we just gave away DLo… Only trading Dalton for Kessler/Herb/Murray He’s one of the few big trade pieces we have can’t waste it on a eh player
Rui, Gabe, 1st for Brown & Ochai Agbai JHS, 1st, Remove Prot for Kessler DK, Hayes, 2nd for Cam Thomas PG: Brown/Thomas SG: Reaves/Ochai/Max SF: DFS/Vando/Reddish PF: Bron/Wood C: AD/Kessler
If we knew exactly what we'd get with Bruce Brown, then maybe I would trade for him. I actually think that Bruce Brown's performance has faded, especially with injuries. I am interested in a trade with the Raptors that does include Ochai Agbaji and Rui, but it doesn't include Bruce Brown: Rui and JHS for Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji (possibly requires a a protected 1st rounder) Kelly Olynyk seems like a good fit that is obviously not obvious. He isn't a big bruising Center, but when you combine him with AD you get a good combination of size and flexibility on the floor. Both of them can shoot 3-pointers and also play inside. Both of them are big enough to defend the "big Center" on the other team. Olynyk could play Center without AD on the floor. I look at the per-100 statistic to get an idea of how a player actually contributes. Olynyk averages a full 50% more rebounds than Rui on the per-100 possessions basis. He also shoots better from 3-point range and has a DRtg that is a full 4 points lower than Rui Hachimura. At 6'11" and at least 240 pounds, Olynyk would fit the Lakers need. He is also a solid veteran with experience and reliability. Ochai is similar to Max Christie, except that he has at least 25 pounds more weight to use as a defender. He is shooting at around 40% from 3-point range this year, and he is a young guy that could have a long-term future with the Lakers. This trade would be a way to fill the Lakers' need in the near-future while also having a good chance of fitting into the Lakers' long-term future. This trade also gives both teams a similar amount of salary burden for this year and next. Not many teams are looking for imbalanced salary trades, so that would be a factor for minimizing the draft pick impact.
For the record, I would trade for Olynyk due to expecting that Kessler and Thomas are not available for the prices you mentioned. If you can get Kessler that cheap, great. If you can get Cam Thomas that cheap, great. I'm still not sold on Bruce Brown. I don't know that he would be worth a 1st round pick.
Lakers out: Hachimura, Vanderbilt, Vincent, Hood-Schifino, Jaxon Hayes, Christian Wood, and Reddish. You guys are downplaying Josh green a lot. If you can turn Gabe Vincent into Josh green, or get tre man and Josh green for rui you do it. Gives you more athleticism, he’s a 40% 3pt shooter, and he’s a good defender. There’s a reason he got paid 12 million he’s solid and adds depth. He is WAY above shake milton
I don’t know where this view comes from with Christian Wood and Vando. Wood was not a good + player so far and Vando only on defense. You literally asking DFS to be as efficient as Rui every night
