What happens in a hip check for babies and hip dysplasia treatment?

Sarah shows what happens when babies hips get checked and treated for hip dysplasia. All babies have a hip check directly after birth. Babies who are born breech and babies with a family history of hip problems are referred for a secondary hip check. If a problem is found this can be treated with a hip harness. The harness needs to be kept on at all times and used as explained by the clinician. The harness helps the hip to remodel and develop as normal.
