Nah, I think that was an honest mistake. When brook's captain (and some others) got that incurable illness, the crew separated. If I'm remembering right, the ones that got sick said that they'll try to leave the grand line via the calmbelt, and the ones that weren't sick were gonna continue on and try to go around the world to meet laboon on the other side. The ones they said "fled" were probably the sick ones
If you watch Ruffsenpai you will realized he has already watched One piece and is pretending that he is new. There are countless examples of him "predicting" many things that nobody knew until it happened. Even if things are more obvious when you binged the show. He also rushed to the end when he saw an opportunity to joined the community of already established content creators.
