I live In Oman and here many Camry's are Taxis 🚕. It's crazy how it's 51L in India. It is not that luxurious and extremely overpriced. The car is Great but it should have been around 35L I guess
2022 Camry hybrid top of line is $32,820 in US. That's 27 lakhs. Yet it's being sold at 45 lakhs. Unbelievable. Pretty much the most perfect mid-high sedan ever created basically killed by unreasonable import duties in India.
In the United States it cost around $26,000, If I convert it to INR it's roughly 21 Lakhs. Although here you get 360° camera and a panoramic sunroof. It has 4 cylinder engine which produces 200 horsepower. I think top end got a V6 engine 🤔
In US these cars sell for cheap (used ones). Hybrid option is good for cheaper cars but If I was paying 50L I would prefer pure diesel or refined petrol power engines!
@@nikhilgarg8198 agreed. Spend some more and you get the big 3 germans. With better looks, better interior etc. Sure its reliable and easy to mentai but somebody who will spend 50 lacks on a sedan would really be that worried about mentainace costs? Toyota should get RAV4 to India. It should also introduce it's revolutionary hybrid tech in all it's cars. They are still xerox copying it's sister- Suzuki's platform.
Why should one pay that hefty price for a car that hasn't improved much over these many years. Instead, we can put our money on something like Honda City E-HEV which is again a hybrid and that's also a proven reliable brand as well which in my opinion a better product overall than Camry. I understand that there are some gimmicks in Camry like ventilated seats, rear seat controls, 3 zone ac, big engine, EV mode and all but, is it really worth that much?
Yes. Take a drive in this car then you will understand, the car sahres underpinnings with the costlier Lexus vehicles, there is no comparison between city and Camry, city is 2 segments smaller in size, Camry offers BMW 5 series size at Less than 3 series price. Also, Honda cannot match the TNGA platform, the TNGA platform is an excellent platform, mazda builds car internationally targetting the best handling cars in the segment, the previous benchmark was the 3 series, now they consider this TNGA platform as the benchmark. That's says a lot. Camry hybrid is proper Atkinson cycle hybrid, car can be driven in pure EV mode, only competition to this was the Accord hybrid that was priced 10 lacs higher than this.
@@aayushbhingare2279 I look at a car from how it was and how has it improved. If we look at Camry, there aren't any massive scale improvements but City, its nearly 50% improved than what it was just few months back. I mean, is Toyota going to keep on increasing prices on every product of theirs like that without actually offering any real value compared to other competitors in the market who are providing more value? Many might say like, then go buy it. But, that's not the point here. It's that a company is increasing their vehicle prices by a big margin without actually justifying it. Innova Crysta - Big engine to small engine, no rear disc brakes, no properly woring infotainment, no proper camera, no proper tpms, just brand? Look at it. This is what I'm talking about. City E-HEV might not provide luxurious ride but, its a spacious vehicle offers a lot of really advanced safety tech that helps avoid many accidents. If one really wants a hybrid, why to invest such a large chunk of money of something that hasn't improved that much is my question. Hope you get my point.

Cars like Camry need more attention. Not only Camry is a hybrid while giving great mileage better than almost so many cars(maybe even good hybrids offered by maruti) but also, Camry can give a run for its money in 0-100 time to models which have turbo petrol engine like Virtus GT, even 2 series or A4 or A Class while being spacious as hell from the inside and having freaking 9 airbags and having amazing build quality and reliability from Toyota. Some people will say that Camry is 2 seconds slower than the above turbo petrol models but you have to admit that a car which has so much value to money ratio can also go toe to toe with the so called entry-performance cars with a CVT transmission.
Manufacturers should manufacture D-segment cars (like Accord, Sonata, Camry) in India. This will reduce the costs and people will really buy these cars.
