Kenya has no competition in East Africa, as a South African, I must say that I am proud of my East Africa Kenyan brothers and sisters, soon Kenya will be at the same level as South Africa in terms of infrastructural development and has potential of surpassing South Africa in the next 10 years just by the look of things.

who is building infrastructure in South Africa . who is controlling the economy in South Africa . South Africa the most unequal country in the world out of 164 countries. 10% of the population controls 80 % of the wealth . The 10% do not reflect the general population . Other social factors just as important . Both Kenya and South Africa should work on social cohesion more than infrastructure .

@@pplopde4437 You seem to be having a challenge understanding my argument, let me give you numbers, (1) South Africa has about 60 million citizens and of that about 85% is indigenous (2) 67% of the middle class in indigenous, (3) 65% of millionaires is indigenous South Africa, (4) over the past 25 years, the government of indigenous people spent hundreds of billions of dollars building huge roads infrastructure, huge airport, stadiums, some of the best science facilities, hospitals, clinics thousands of schools, etc (5) hundreds of new successful indigenous South African farmers, many mine owners like Patrice Motsepe.
The list is long, the reason why 80% of the economy is still control by whites is because most of that is control by international companies like Anglo America, etc.... and a few white families. Now what's needed in South Africa to address that is policy shift. Hope that helps.

can you show us a single major economy that is not driven by foreign investment? African and Kenya are poor because of little investment especially in infrastructure. And why talk of Sri Lanka here, you seem not aware of what you are talking, GTC is investment by AVIC of China and that dont prevent anyone including Kenyans or foreigners making investments, kindly trave the world and see for yourself how rich places like London, New York or Dubai developed by simply attracting rich investors.

I am very happy and proud to see Kenya is developing. Only the part honestly I want to share is that I worried of the intention of the investor in Kenya. Big investment sometimes comes with inreturn benefits of that entity. I would be more happy when Kenya itself invest Kenya tax payer money in developing this country. Already Kenya is paying his investor 1.3 billion Kshiling as fined. Still we need to learn from this and look for fair investment. Else, Sri Lanka is the example.
