Yea any interviews of this guy he is incredibly humble. Truly a hero and its amazing he was able to survive the incident as so often the medal of honor is rewarded posthumously.

For those that want a little M.H. fact the youngest recipient of the M.H. was (1) Willie Johnston, 13 years old, a drummer boy in Co. D, 3d Vermont Regiment, has received a medal for his heroic conduct in the seven days fight before Richmond. The next youngest was (2) James Aloysius Walsh was only 16 when he received his Medal of Honor, making him the second-youngest Medal of Honor recipient ever. James Aloysius Walsh joined the Navy from New York City. Then there was (3) Jacklyn Harold "Jack" Lucas became the youngest man in this century to receive the award when he threw his body over two grenades at Iwo Jima just 5 days after his 17th birthday. At the time of his heroism, he had already been in the Marine Corps for three years. (4) At the age of 18, Robert Charles Burke is the fourth-youngest Medal of Honor recipient ever. (5) At the age of 19, Benjamin Franklin Young is the fifth youngest Medal of Honor recipient. Benjamin Young served as a Corporal in the 1st Michigan Sharpshooters during the American Civil War. (6) At the age of 21, Marvin Rex Young, became the sixth youngest Medal of Honor recipient. He joined the US Military in 1966 and served his country during the Vietnam War. (7) At the age of 23, Robert Edward Femoyer, became the seventh youngest Medal of Honor recipient served in the US Army Air Corp. and number (8) At the age of 24, William Kyle Carpenter, is the eighth youngest Medal of Honor recipient. He served his country in the war on terror in Afghanistan.
This is the list of the eight youngest holders of the Medal of Honor of the United States military.
