    Hi, I really enjoy your videos and learn how to get better. I wanted to ask a professional question, I have already prepared several times with epoxy. In one or two guides, the epoxy continued to be sticky even after three days, the rest of the guides came out excellent, it is the same mixture of epoxy, did I do something wrong and can this problem be overcome? Thanks in advance !!!

      Y L 777 hi thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words. When epoxy doesn’t set usually means the ratio is off or temperature is not right and so one, But you said from the same patch other guides do set. Hmmm... is it a random guide of the rod, or is it the same guide every time? I am thinking you are mixing the right ratio, but the actual mixing may be the problem. What brand and type of epoxy do you use?

      @@CASSTONECUSTOMS Thanks for the quick help, it's not obvious. I noticed that this is the last guide that usually doesn't dry properly, the epoxy is good and does the job great, a precise 50-50 ratio, maybe because I'm putting a layer too thick?

      Y L 777 too thick wouldn’t....shouldn’t slow the curing process, it should speed it up. You have a very weird situation, and there are many variables that could result with not setting properly , but that’s the problem, too many. So I would advise that you use start eliminating them. Like: Check room temperature, are you building near a window, use oral syringes to measure, use a new container every time, are you using any cleaners near the build, mix throughly ~2mins, keep mixing between guides, how much heat are you applying. Best of luck with this, and when you figure it out, please let me know what it was. I’d love to know. Let me know if there is any thing else I can help you with.

      @@CASSTONECUSTOMS Thank you so much for willingness to help, it is heartwarming. The next time I work with the epoxy I will pay attention to all the things you have noted and try to check what the problem is, what I think right now is that since the last guides are usually the ones that come out sticky and not the first, maybe the bottom of the epoxy blend in the tool is not as blended as the top and maybe that's why

    HI, IF I WANT TO CLEAN EPOXY FROM THE ROD AFTER I REMOVED THE GUIDE, WHICH ALCOHOL DO YOU RECOMMEND ? 95 % IS GOOD ?

    • @CASSTONECUSTOMS
      @CASSTONECUSTOMS  5 років тому +1

      Y L 777 you can use rubbing alcohol, you need have alittle more elbow grease with that, Really 70% and up will be fine. Stay away from acid tone, thanks for asking

      @@CASSTONECUSTOMS How about Acetone in Epoxy ? is it good ? thank you

      Y L 777 acetone in the epoxy? What are you trying to accomplish, thinner epoxy? I think that is a way to get thinner epoxy, but I wouldn’t try it because doing so can really jeopardize the finish coat. I personally have never done that, nor would I take the chance. Experiment with different thread finishes to find the right one
